| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- No goddamnit no... what sort of an ending was that? The bad guys are destroyed, the plot is about to conclude and then the bomb drops and then... nothing, we are shown nothing... 2 more minutes, show us how this scene unfolded damnit... give us 2 more minutes... Sigh... oh well, all in all this was an appropriately dark and interesting series, nostalgia factors aside its arguably the best Harlock has to offer... Harlock himself has never been more awesome... so I suppose I can excuse a few such mishaps... |

| Quite a different ending than I expected as in I didn't expect such an open ending. While still keeping true to the dark atmosphere! In general I did liked the first part of the series, especially to see Mayu and Toshiro! In general it was a pretty good alternative setting, with some intense action and overall good story/character development. So all in all a very good alternative Captain Harlock setting! |

| What kind of ending was that? This was kinda stupid. Why would Harlock want Tadashi to shoot him? And what happened regarding that? Did Harlock hand Tadashi an unloaded pistol, and tell him that he was a "man" for pulling the trigger, thinking that it was loaded? One can only speculate. Also, what made Tadashi leave the Arcadia? This wasn't very good. There's so much wrong with this anime. It's almost as bad as "Harlock Saga," but nowhere near as horrible as "Gun Frontier." Nonetheless, I'll just try to forget about it. Leiji Matsumoto wasn't involved in the production of this OVA, so I don't have to feel bad about not liking it very much, lol. |
