Lol, why the fuck did he die? He didn't get hit that much at all. It's funny how some take one hit after the other and never die while some die by the tinniest thing.

Wow, Hyoga cried, he really lost it at the end. That's weirdly touching. We see time and time again, that inside of Hyoga's tough and extreme shell, he truly cares about people.
Also, Docrates ran from the police, but as we see here Saint's don't get harmed from bullets, so now it makes even less sense why he did that. Perhaps it was to save the reputation of sanctuary...? That's the only thing I can think of. Seiya's bullet catching was pretty darn badass though.
It was also pretty extreme for Crystal Saint to use the same technique he taught Hyoga to defeat Hyoga himself. That was the technique Hyoga used on Docrates before Seiya showed up!
Finally, that scene where Shiryu and Old Master stared at each other for like 20 seconds was really absurd.

Something this episode made me reflect on was the way power is written in this. There is very little asspulls in fights, normally if they occur, they occur after the fight, this was a rare occasion. And during fights the main cast really don't seem that strong. Seiya has lost to Shaina twice, Hyoga would've lost to Crystal Saint had he not gained his humanity back, the only way to beat Docrates and Ikki was team work and golden armor cheese for the latter, the only real characters who our cast absolutely destroy alone are the little guys. This anime is seriously all about team work, and it often retains that it's cast isn't perfect by any means, they lose or would lose without teamwork a lot, a lot more than most battle shounen are willing to let happen. I frankly really love this, despite the asspulls at times, from what occurred now, to the golden armor, to the literal power of friendship, it keeps the anime very grounded.

What happened was clearly that he had a lapse of his humanity, got hit on purpose, and then shot the pyramid to take it down in his last breaths of his normal self. Hyoga even said responding to Seiya claiming Hyoga was faster, "No, I wasn't!", claiming Crystal Saint held back. How he went back to normal though... doesn't really make sense. He had an Arles migraine before it, but ... he didn't go back to normal last time so... yeah.

Decent enough episode.

Deducting points, however, for the absolute dunce moment of the Crystal Saint spending his last moments berating his student for hesitating in killing him instead of... you know... actually using it for something important like explaining what was happening in Sanctuary and Pope Ares' mind control shtick.

DISAPPONTED!!

3/5.

wait, wait... a sec. seiya was in Greece right? and he made it to Siberia in like 10 minutes 😅 to inform Hyoga about his master and... that huge pyramid construction reminds me of Hokuto no Ken ep from season 2 iirc 3/5.

@gfsdfgsdgsdfgs sorry that you love idiocy. your posts annoyed me, stop defending mid shows! SS is not that great.

This episode had some really interesting stuff (ice pyramid, battle between Crytal Saint and Hyoga), but it was just weird. What killed the Crystal Saint? Everything was way too fast - this should have been several episodes. It's just a filler one, so it makes sense. Still, they could have done some great stuff with this scenario!
