| This had to be hands-down the worst written episode of Kenshin I've seen. Even though he was obviously a gifted and ambitious kendo student from the beginning, the only swordsman the guy ever aspired to best was a masked thug he crossed in an alley as a kid? They expect us to believe that the girl waited by the riverbank for 20 years for him to return from his training, even though they'd barely met and he didn't even say hello to her when they first met? Also, after 20 years of honing his swordsmanship, how did he become the town fishing expert? Just seems like a convenient but completely bizarre excuse for Kenshin to meet him. None of it made any logical sense. Episode 64 is way better, and it's a straight up ripoff of My Fair Lady. |

If some lady waits around by some tree for twenty years, then yeah I guess it makes sense when she died she would haunt that same place as a ghost until the return of the person she awaits. |
