'Awajima Hyakkei' Announces Additional Cast Pair

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Takako Shimura's Awajima Hyakkei (Scenes from Awajima) manga unveiled a pair of additional cast and third character visual (pictured) on Wednesday. The anime series will premiere in April 2026.

Cast
Ryouko Ueda: Ai Kayano (Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu)
Emi Okabe: Natsumi Fujiwara (Rock wa Lady no Tashinami deshite)
Katsurako Ibuki: Ayumi Tsunematsu (Fate/Zero)

Morio Asaka (Chihayafuru, Cardcaptor Sakura) is directing the anime at Madhouse. Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen, Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun) is handling the series composition. Kunihiko Hamada (Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru, Nana) is designing the characters. Takahiro Obata (Yakusoku no Neverland, Shoushimin Series) is composing the music

Shimura began serializing the school drama manga on the pocopoco website in June 2011. The manga then switched to the Oota Web Comic site in 2016, where it ended on March 15. Oota Publishing published the fifth and final volume in May 2024.

Yen Press licensed the manga in English on July 7 and will ship the first volume in January 20, 2026.
