Ok, so mal users, do you have any plants?

So like the only ones I actually "own" are this cute little bonsai tree and like a random one I don't even know the name of. But my parents own like a BUNCH of flowers and other stuff in their garden, so umm yeah!!!!

Anyways what about you guys?

I do, an aloe my neighbor gave me, along with a few plants my mother and grandmother received for Mother's Day but didn’t want to take care of. I also have some fake plants, but I guess that doesn't count...

I guess I need to summon @LabMemberX for this thread.

I used to have bonsai trees and some other plants in my old room (the bonsai trees and most plants are still there), but I haven't taken them with me when I moved floors, because it's more convenient for me to be able to open more windows fully as they're smaller, plus with how the computer desk is set, I would often need to put down the shutters lest I wanna be dazzled by the light or have people be able to look inside my screens when it's dark outside, which wasn't really a case when my old computer desk was facing the windows. If I'm not mistaken, there might be still ancient room pictures and some more recent ones for comparison somewhere

Otherwise, my parents keep flowers and other plants, but there is pretty much always at least a big free window to open and our garden contains plenty of flowers of which I've posted some in some other threads before

I have some in the summer/spring, but with the seasons being so erratic, it is hard to keep them all year around -- plus nothing can be done for the winter. I am debating on trying to grow some indoor plants instead, but more worried about finding space where the sunlight is a more consistent (I'd like to grow some herbs for cooking).

I actually enjoy the idea of plants in the house, but I haven't put this plan into fruition since I use to have a cat that loved eating leaves/flowers. We'd have to keep moving the plant to stop him getting to it.

I used to but ever since my attempt at growing lycoris radiata failed I completely gave up on plants. It's too much effort and stress

OT: I have a Dracaena plant. I love it so much. I use distilled water on it to avoid mineral burn, and I use cotton buds to clean the leaves of dust.

I looooooove my plant~

Not now, but I've had quite a few. A cactus, a hanging vine, some white flowers that I don't remember the name of, some wheat grass, another plant that he'd a thick stem and long leaves that sadly didn't last as I got it in winter, and despite being inside and covering it at tonight, it didn't make it. My two best planets were a Dracaena, which, due to circumstances where I had to stay with extended family, one of the kids around dug her hands into it and uprooted it after I cut some stems to keep it alive after moving, that really pissed me off. I had that one for about 10 years. Then I had some bromeliad that for about 6-7 years that one of my teacher's from highschool gave me, before I moved here, I gave my neighbor, who had a big garden of similar tropical plants, the bigger cutting of it, sadly I think it was old for a bromeliad so my cutting I took died but hopefully the one I gave away is still alright.

I have around a dozen pothos. They’re all either my grandmother’s original plants (she died around 20 years ago), or grown from cutting from her plants. I also have a potted ponytail palm and a sago palm on the porch.

Indoors nothing anymore, but I used to have 2 succulents that lasted for quite a while until they started dying.

Outdoors in the yard though I have some strawberry plants & a cherry bush/tree (neither of which I planted), they've produced fruit a few times, but I haven't eaten any.

In the front I have a croscosmia carmine that pretty much rules over everything. It's a nice plant but it dies off quickly. Also I have another plant trying to compete with it, not sure what it is though (a type of lavender plant maybe?) It fucking stinks that's all I know.

I grow peppers and tomatoes in buckets every year. I don't have any decorative plants at the moment, but I do really want a venus flytrap someday.

I have a few succulents that were gifted to me and a garden outside. I'm not growing anything right now but over this past summer I grew peas, lettuce, and carrots.

Currently no, but I did used to have a bonsai tree until I failed at being able to keep it water properly. Those things are tricky!

This summer my mom was dedicated to planting and growing flowers in our garden. Only took two weeks for them to die. I remember mom trying to convince us she can revive them somehow and me and my dad just repeatedly telling her that they’re very dead by now

@NS2D Update on this
A few months ago after the bulbs never showed any signs of life and just looking really dry I decided to put the big plant pot I had them in away until I could throw it away. But earlier today I noticed that they're now sprouting tiny leaves despite having been without any sunlight and water for several months
What kind of messed up flower is this? I knew they were supposed to bloom in autumn but I thought they'd at least show some signs of life before then and not thrive on being neglected and forgotten lol

I have a very large Sago palm in a big pot that I had since 2013. It was a tiny plant when I bought it, it's about 200 pounds now with the pot it's in, about 5 ft wide
I recently bought a fig tree, which is very small but I assume in 12 years I'll be 8 ft tall. And another potted plant with these purple leaves I've had for a few years
The Sago palm is very important to me I treat it like a pet and it must be watered daily, so I have people visit my place to water plants when I'm away

I suspect my plant has root rot. The evidence points to that conclusion.

I'll redeem myself by replanting it. I have bought the necessary materials. They're arriving tomorrow.

I'm sorry, Plant-chan. I will try to have good watering habits from now on. T___T

@LabMemberX What kind of plant is it? You could try the """strategy""" that I found out by accident and just forget about it until it fixes itself. It seems like watering your plants and giving them sunlight is completely unnecessary. At least for the type that I'm trying to grow

@NS2D

Yeah, my plant is Dracaena. Apparently, it's tropical and doesn't need a lot of water.

I still need to repot it. The rotten roots have to be removed.
