After a long night of drinking (water), last night I woke with an urge to had to use the restroom. Since I am familiar with the layout of my own condo I was confident that I could make all the way to the toilet without any issues. I was about 1/2 way there without any problems when my leg suddenly bumped into something unexpectedly and caused me to fall! I wasn't able to see whatever it was in the darkness, but I could tell when i bumped into it that whatever I struck was extremely soft and extremely furry. Has this evfur occurred to any of you, and have any of you ever crashed into a mysterious, fluffy objects in the middle of the night?

All the time, since this fluffy stranger that makes me trip at night is black, so all I can see is shining eyes in the night...light.

Every time I see another thread about your furry adventures, I'm reminded of an educational film about construction and repair that I watched in childhood. In it, three gentlemen from Eastern Europe tried to cater to the whims of an eccentric lady client. I remember one gentleman spread cement mortar on her back and laid tiles, playfully patting them down with a furry trowel, while the other two firmly secured the piece with impressive furry levels on both sides, meticulously keeping watch over the horizontality.

I don't even know where such strange associations come from - maybe it's the exceptional furriness of it all, or maybe the rich metaphorical language of the narration, full of allusions - I recall at the time I was reading Goethe and Pushkin voraciously...

As for the actual incident you described - no, nothing like that has happened to me. First, I prefer to foster smooth-furred cats, or better yet, sphynxes. Second, they usually don't sprawl on the floor, but instead purr peacefully on silk sheets after playing to their heart's content with my little mouse and balls of yarn.

Wait, did I actually write "little mouse"? That was rat ofc, huge vicious rat...

Yes and during the day as well. It's hard to not bump into little furry balls when they run like mad hell in your legs

That... sounds strange. Do you have a pet? It sounds like that could explain it. Be sure to watch where you're going.

I have fallen to the ground a good number of times all because an overly fast-moving fluffy object put itself in my path. It was more about me deciding to take the fall to avoid the collision rather than me slipping, though.

@Retro8bit Oh, so you've tripped on a strange object as well? It sounds like I'm not alone

Hopefurry the furluffy object isn't damaged.

@Zarutaku I hope not as well! I couldn't stand the thought of something so soft being distressed!

@LoveYourSmile Smooth kitties and sphynies are both cute as buttons! It sounds like they are living a good life, too

just keep a bottle or something next to your bed

@XMGA030 No, I don't think I will. I bought a toilet so I'm going to use it, darn it!

@Nysse My cat runs around all over and bumps into me during the day, too! I wonder if he's even bumped into this mysterious furry object I discovered last night.

@Purple_Gh0st24 I do have a cat and he was missing at the time of the stumble, but he would never trip me, so it couldn't have been him!

@fleurbleue That makes sense. I wouldn't want to slow down or interrupt any soft or furry object either.

Get a flashlight if your night vision is bad. Don't walk straight into the poor cats just standing there wondering why you can't see them ;__;

Indeed I have, and I have some tin hat foil theories as to what's going on here. 🤔
