| Finally done with this. War game is over, Freya is done. Can we please move on to some interesting plot again now? I mean I guess the situation with former Freya familia members is going to be interesting probably (where are they going? are they going to lose their Freya-complex? Who is going to work with them when they can't shut up about their previous god for five minutes? questions over questions.) but I'm good with never having to see either Freya or her personas ever again. She's been annoying from day one and the fact that Syr "is her true personality" doesn't absolve her of how shitty she was throughout the whole story so far. Story-wise this honestly was the weakest season. Too much annoying dialogue, too much repetition, too many ass-pulls. In a serious fight Freya familia would have wiped the floor with the "alliance". As if that wasn't bad enough the rules also have been too unclear. Welf was effectively defeated. Then he took a break and returned to the fight. Was that really how the game was supposed to be played? Healers aside that looked like an illegal move but the story needed a way to prevent the cat dude from catching up with Bell. Hedin and Hogni switching sides, while not completely unreasonable (see a comment I made in earlier ep thread), was another one that was just done to allow Hestia winning the war game because otherwise there is a zero-percent chance of that happening. And then they put the breaks on Bell and keep him at level 5. If you need to ass-pull that much then just go the full mile and throw the powerscale out of the window entirely. But noooooo, we can't have Bell already sitting on the same level as Ais obviously. Need some more room to improve on the final stretch of the story. Yes, I'm angry. I was really enjoying the previous seasons despite some illogical power jumps. At least it always introduced some interesting characters or at least had some interesting tidbits about the world and history of it. This season was all about the shittiest character of them all and basically nothing else. I guess a highlight was Hestia showing off some power with Hermes help to break Freyas spell but that was one episode out of 15. I was actually pretty hyped at the start when I saw this season was 15 episodes. Now I just wish it was a short one instead. Could have cut a lot of the stuff in the beginning and the middle and focus on the war game instead which would still put it below other seasons but at least we could have avoided some annoyances. Honestly. I really enjoy that DanMachi actually was adapted so far (never expected that considering how long we needed to wait between S1 and the actual S2) but this season kind of broke a lot of the enjoyment I got out of it. Not holding my breath for another season and I kind of hope they wait until they can finish it in one go because I no longer trust the writer to find a satisfying end to the story. |
| Awesome fight. Frey is annoying, but it's a bit sad Bell rejected him twice. Felt good that Freya familia is defeated and disbanded. 'Freya' maybe gone, but Syr is back. Dammit, Bell. I wish he accpted Syr, but his heart is already for Ais. I remember back in season one that he wants a harem of girls, but that's not the case anymore. Not surprise if he ends up with Ais and only her. Kind of disappointed, but that's how it is. Also, already read some spoilers on what happened afterwards. Still a fun series. Never expected this series will have five seasons. |
| Well, that was something. The first half was interesting, the part with the brainwashing. The last half with the war game was boring. I'm also irritated that Freya didn't get any real punishment. It's nuts that she gets to continue on as Syr, all good. There should have been severe consequences for her bullshit this season. She's been toxic the whole show so far and she finally gets put in a place to get some comeuppance and it just fizzles. Yea, wah wah she got rejected. Cry me a river, lol. She's absolutely smokin hot, but a psychopath so I don't feel bad for her. I'm just glad this is done so we can move on to something more interesting. Season 4 was great, need more like that. |
| what an utter nonsense, the last few episodes after the so-called "twist" really pissed me off. and I never even imagined the ending could be this bad. the worst season of the series |
| Damn what a beast Ottar was!! Holy shit!! What a Finale! Cinema!! ABSOLUTE CINEMA!! 🙌 Damn Bell really pulled up "But i love Emilia" to her 🤣 Subaru must be proud. Another 9/10 Season. I really like the psychological and drama aspect for this season. Well hopefully in Season 6 we are going to pick up a girl in a dungeon again. |

| this is top 5 worst arc endings I have ever seen in my life, how the fuck did mc defeat Ottarl is beyond me, it's literally impossible and freya had 3 people who were in charge of defending her beaten by a swordsmith, then apparently all were in on it even though they had their little civil war. This anime is an embarrassment to logic and having fun, author can't write to save his life, people who praise this are small minded and shallow. |

| What a finale. The final episode of this long-awaited season truly turned into a battle—both in the literal and emotional sense. And fittingly, it was Bell who was entrusted with the impossible task: to set things right and save Freya. Watching him confront "Syr" was unexpectedly emotional. After everything, after all the chaos and heartbreak, it's over—peace has finally returned. The ending was bittersweet, but it felt right. I'm proud of you, Bell. The fight against Ottarl was nothing short of intense. Bell and the others gave it everything they had. Haruhime pouring the last of her spirit magic into him felt like a final, beautiful act of trust and belief. Bell, still only Level 6, stood tall against Level 7s—and Ottarl, practically a Level 8 in his monstrous form. The pressure was overwhelming. But if there's anyone who refuses to back down, it’s Rabbit Foot himself. Fueled by Hedin’s lightning enchantment, Bell pushed past his limits once again. It echoed his battle with the Minotaur—same desperation, same fire. His Fire Bolt, as always, came in clutch. And yet, the War Game wasn’t over. Bell still had to make his way to Freya’s castle, with Allen in hot pursuit. But Welf showed up just in time, giving Lili the support she needed to help Bell reach his final destination—and face Freya one last time.  Whether she's Syr or Freya, one thing became clear: her feelings for Bell had consumed her. But Bell stayed true to himself—he wouldn’t become her Ord, not out of force, not out of pity. In the aftermath, Freya's Familia is disbanded, her power stripped, her assets seized. She’s back to square one. But maybe, just maybe, she’s also free—from her obsession, from the role she played. And Bell… he managed to save not just her, but both sides of her—the Goddess and the girl. Ryu, especially, shines through all this. She was Bell’s anchor—and his savior. And even the waitresses of the Hostess of Fertility weren’t ready to let go of Syr. The harem may not be Bell’s intention, but it’s always found its way to him, even under Hedin’s “gaze.” At the heart of it all, this season was about duality, identity, and salvation. Freya and Syr being saved wasn’t just the story—it was the purpose. And now, with Season 5 finally wrapped after so many delays, we close the chapter on another unforgettable DanMachi arc. What a journey. Score 9/10 at MAL. Finished it on 9th July 2025 at 17:09 Hrs IST.  |

| Finally got around to watching this. Wasn't as enjoyable as the previous season but had some nice moments the later half. I never really cared about Syr so that probably didn't help. Wasn't a fan of how much CGI was used for people in this season but I guess the amount of times the girls get their clothes blown off to wearing barely anything, like Heith, makes up for it. Gonna miss that ending though. |
| it just ended like that.. all we wanted to know just this relationship ending.. not an unimportant battle drama 😑 for a style, i would prefer Freya.. plus, she's more like a mature woman.. but, for a normal boy-girl relationship, Syr is the choice.. again, there will be no kiss on this kind of anime.. so, do not even expect that.. overall : romance 7/10 battle, character, terrain animation 9/10 sasuga from a big title called danmachi.. but this more into a battle action fantasy than romance or ecchi or even humor.. again, for a battle action maniac watcher would love this anime.. |

| Freya deserved to win more than Hestia, Aiz or Ryu. She's been trying for long to win him over, is responsible for so much of his advancement & safety. Whether Syria the cute barmaid, or Freya a tough but fair goddess, they both deserved what they wanted. |
