Starting with a flashback—I like the animation in this show.

Tarou falling in love at first sight and then settling down with her is so romantic. But the fact that he tries to avoid pointless killing whenever possible says a lot about his character.

Shin is an interesting one too. He came to kill the very person he admires, but after eating Aoi’s cooking, he understood why Tarou left his life as an assassin. Sacrificing himself so Tarou could stay off the radar—he’s earned my utmost respect.

That scene with Shin banging his head on the steering wheel, making the car move, was hilarious. And the mother covering her son's eyes, thinking it was a "dancing car"—easily the funniest moment for me!

What a badass way to start a series, retired hitman goes into quasi retirement lol and gains happy weight at that. So far so good, looking forward to more chaos and we gained Shin in the first episode

Great start to the story with Sakamoto and Shin meeting for the first time, loved how Shin ends up working at Sakamoto’s convenience store after getting his life saved during a pretty slick action scene despite Sakamoto’s chunky build lol.

Solid first episode overall, feels faithful so far... I've been a fan of the manga for years so it's nice to finally see it animated.

Yuuki Hayashi lowkey recycling an unused My Hero Academia OST track for the first scene lol.

Entertaining first episode. Wasn't expecting supernatural powers to be a thing in this show tho.
Also animation is fairly good. Embarrassing to see some people here trying their hardest to deny the fact. Hopefully, they won't be around when Part 2 airs.

Sakamoto is absolute unit!
"The future is always blank. Only your willpower can leave footsteps there."

"Ruling over death means ruling over life. Death is the climax of life. To have the best death, you must honor life."

It's not bad. I mean, I think this specific concept is starting to be overused.
A true professional assassin who becomes peaceful or appears to have a normal life...
Not to mention that sometimes he can return to that life, even if only briefly.
That's been seen in other anime.
But I won't deny that it was entertaining.
On the other hand, the animation has its good parts and its bad parts.
One of the things that shocks me the most is that the guy looks like someone in his sixties when it's only been a few years...
I'll keep watching. It doesn't seem, at least for now, like a bad show.
It just falls a bit into cliché.

I’ve seen some talk about this series so I decided to give it a shot.

The beginning establishes the basic premise to the series and the episode overall gives off the impression that hitmen will come after Taro Sakamoto and Shin the Psychic throughout the series, but I won’t know that for sure until I see the second episode that the story will go down this path.

All it took for Taro to retire was to see a store clerk and he instantly fell in love. He married her, and had a kid, and got out of shape, all in the span of five years.

Then we see Shin the Psychic, who can read the minds of anyone who is close enough to him. He was ordered by the organization to kill Taro, but after failing to do so and eating Taro’s wife’s cooking, he changed his mind, sacrificing his own life for Taro’s safety. That didn’t work out, because the main guy planned to kill Taro regardless of the sacrifice, so a big gun fight occurred.

Just as it looked like Shin was cooked, I could already predict that Taro was coming in to save the day. It seems that he put a tracker on Shin’s gun and he came in and took out the rest of the trash by himself, and then offered Shin a job. However, Shin is not allowed to tell the regular people, such as the little kid who tried to get a free juice box.

I will be continuing this series at my own pace. Maybe I’ll binge the episodes today, or wait until tomorrow, or right before Part 2 comes out. We’ll see…

Didn't think the simple act of pointing to a "Thank you, please come again!" sign could be this powerful. Shin for Sakamoto's life to be spared in the literal next scene was the cherry on top.

Both the action and slice of life blend so seamlessly. Can already tell this show is gonna make for comfy viewing.
@FarCritical That's what I was thinking. It's chill overall, but can switch the gears like that. I'm looking forward to binging this.

I wanted to try watching something new today while I ate some nice food I cooked. I chose Sakamoto days because the songs for it I had heard on youtube sounded SO GOOD. So far, it's okay. I'm hoping I'll grow attached to it overtime and that the fighting scenes and anything having to do with them feel more resonant. I think because I'm new to the show, that maybe things don't feel so cool yet. I was introduced to an OP character, Mr. Sakamoto, but I don't know his journey. Maybe it would be nice to get to know his family better as well and watch his daughter grow up.

This guy looks like Gon from HXH, but older

I started reading Sakamoto's character in Sakamoto Day. This is juxtaposed with Uvogin's character. This means they have the same power, but without significant changes. In this case, I'm not using power; I'm just looking at the character.
