Oh no. It's AnoHana/Plastic Memories/Angel Beats all over again D:

Pretty good episode. I feel really bad for Chika and Marika's current situation so I hope Keisuke stops being an inconsiderate prick and accepts the inevitable. In any case, he should feel grateful that he and his daughter could experience such miracle in the first place.

Takae </3. This series explores really deep topics, like reincarnation and possession. To be honest, this episode didn’t give 100% confirmations, but putting the possibility of possession on the table is definitely interesting. It’s up to each person to decide what might have happened. I love how they leave the mystery open! ❤️

@kitoha anyone what sound track is playing at this moment ? I am trying to find it

@kutsu_kaisen I think we’ll have to wait for them to release the series’ soundtrack. I couldn’t find it either </3. 😢It seems like only the opening and ending are available for now😔

Low, low start. It took me some time to love this characters, and even if the whole premise is very magical, all feel very human.

Takae suddenly losing her memories is quite the shocking heartbreak for both Keisuke and Mai, and completely reverting to the child that she had before when Chika was all the rage, Marika getting better certainly helped improve her image explaining her amnesia to her teacher and the principal. At the very least, Marika is back to her own body, and Chika is absolutely certain that this is her own daughter, so requesting the Niijimas' help to take care of her until fate decides to drive her state of mind to pander to either as Marika or Takae.

As hard as it sounds, both father and daughter can now only relate to Marika as Chika's friends, and the hardest request of all to let go of Marika as Takae if things don't improve. But one look at the marriage bond for Takae's memories to return abruptly, and then corroborating with the priest at the cemetery where Takae's body is laid to rest, to hear that it's spirit possession because she has unfinished business left to be done.

Between Marika and Takae, what will be the girl's decision?

The Buddhist guy said it's up to Takae to decide whether to go or stay, but it's actually Keisuke's role. He's the one who needs to move on with his life. Even if it's hard, it's the right thing to do. It's his fault that Takae feels bad about taking Marika's body. That scene when she was crying—it hurt, man

Oof so she really lost her memory? Shouldn’t Chika take Takae to the hospital? Lol it’s weird that even her voice changed

It’s sad that the mom is more comfortable with this version of Takae. I can understand why she would have those 3 requests. I feel for her previous family.

Oof the fact that she said, her mom’s attitude change was the most surprising is so sad.

Damn this was a depressing ass episode

No wonder she choose to come back now. It was nice to see Marika experiencing some motherly love after some long time before Takae took over again. But well, looks like it's clear that Takae has to leave the body for good at the end of this series(admittedly predictable from the beginning)

I knew this series reminded Natsuyuki Rendezvous.

This is sad stuff. I hope Takae does move on, so it won't be a bother for Chika... and for everyone else. So it was not a case of reincarnation, but a case of possession, huh.

Kaeisuke learns that whatever happens to Takae is not a rebirth or reincarnation but possession. The priest tells him that her wife's soul still got unfinished business in the world so she returns and possessed Marika's body. Takae tells Chika that she has return to Marika's body. This is quite a tears inducing episode.

What is this anime!!! It’s going to make me cry, seriously! Of course, I won’t lie—I’m like Edogawa Conan. Conan has never cried in any official manga appearance, and the author even confirmed he won’t cry. I’m the same—I’ve never cried over an anime scene or anything similar. And this anime is really pushing me to cry hard! But don’t worry—I haven’t cried yet, haha.

The amount of emotion this anime sends your way is indescribable. The hope, love, attachment to memories, and how it all encourages you to see things positively! I’ll say this confidently—this is the best seinen anime I’ve ever seen, hands down! I’m even thinking of putting it in my Top 10! I’m convinced of that now, even before finishing the rest of the episodes.

Let’s talk about two main points in this episode:

Chika’s noticeable character development! Everyone now thinks Chika is an amazing person! Even her daughter, after a year, couldn’t recognize her! And Takai couldn’t resist her kindness and love! She cried all night just because she’s been trying so hard to keep her daughter.

Chika is a great example and a message for everyone: failing once doesn’t mean you’ll always fail. She discussed this herself back in episode 3 or 4.

The monk’s explanation to Keisuke—we finally got a proper, simple explanation for who Marika and Takai really are. A major turning point in the show, and it’s great they explained it simply without unnecessary complications. I love how the show stays grounded and realistic. Every event so far feels like it could happen in real life.

Let’s keep going—see you in the comments for episode 9.
