Should hentai be added as a third listing beside regular anime and manga?
| No. I don't think introducing a new category/separate list is the best way to address these issues. What if I want to hide not a hentai, but an ecchi like "Kiss x Sis"? The "problem" when a certain genre is taking a lot of "space" is not unique to hentai. Shorts, animated music videos or ads are not even 2-3 episodes long, but a 1-3 minutes long and they can inflate your list very easily. An entry is an entry. |

That is certainly a good point, as I forget about music videos and short series like that existing as entries too. I didn't really think about ecchi, as that's just a genre to me, not something people would typically hide, but I can understand why. as for "an entry is an entry", I have to disagree with that as we already have some ways of subdivision for entries. Even allowing me to filter by genre within my own list would be extremely helpful, as I haven't found a way to do that and there isn't a way as far as I know. More than anything it's sorting and condensing the list down so that it's not as overfilled with much shorter series.

@ShaggyZE I just went and checked and there isn't any way to filter my list by genre, and tags is currently the way that I do it, since I can sort by those at least. CSS is certainly a way to do it, but I'm guessing I'd have to write my own style sheet and I'll be honest, I don't feel like doing that (yes it's a me issue lol).

| Up to this, since the site already considers Hentai as an explicit genre. My suggestion is maybe to add a toggle button on the Profile Page and List pages. [Show/Hide Hentai] so you can view your list, stats (mean score, # of completed, etc.) with and without including Hentai. ~ Personally, I am concerned of how Hentai titles somewhat skew my ratings. I'm not sure how mean ratings work in MAL, if they give the rating weight according to volume count or chapter count. For example, out of my 700+ completed manga, 500+ is Hentai and I'm not sure how that affects my 6.51 mean score. Maybe I have a 7+ mean score for all of my non-hentai mangas read, I don't know. |

| @deg that was 9 years ago, when xinil was in charge/a dev which is no longer the case (as he hasn't logged in, in almost a year), so it may never happen now or it could be without notice tomorrow. it doesn't bother me that much since I can hide mine from most with css (if they are on desktop mode) |

| I just put neutral because it doesn't matter to me, I don't watch that kind of stuff anymore. The best solution is to just let people hid specific entries on their list. According to the mal rules (last time I checked) your not suppose to create second accounts but people do it anyway. Hiding entries would solve that problem. |
