Kenny Lauderdale, Grampy Jiisan, & Mercury Falcon of YouTubers along side re-uploads of Mr. Anime when it comes to Reviews. I check out Mother's Basement for stuff related to Canadian anime history as i'm able to relate to it more to than Brits & Americans along side his reviews of anime financed & commissioned by an ACTUAL CULT in Japan named Happy Science. Trash Taste is pretty good as a sleep aid but for most episodes with the only ones i can easily sit through & watch are their Award videos & the one's where they waste a lot of money on figurines that just get put in behind them.

Pre-2016 was peak anitube imo but after that it quickly died off. Back then you had Goatjesus, animeveryday, Kenji the enji, peak Gigguk, Thatanimesnob (before he decided to just hate all anime and make videos mocking other anitubers), Holden reviews, Bakashift, and Lathan Crowe.

Unfortunately, all the good ones either had life obligations to tend to so they didn’t publish much since, quit YouTube, or continued to post crap content.

Nowadays, aside from Scamboli, bonsai pop, Bobsamurai and Gigguk (on a few occasions), they’re all terrible.

@Runasius if you like mecha i suggest ProfessorOtakuD2. he's been doing the history of mecha anime & manga with him talking about the obscure along with the unknown in order of 1st chapter/episode release

Just watch the actual anime shows instead of AniTubers. Enough said.

@DesuMaiden I'd rather not support Happy Science which is an actual Japanese cult.

I ignore most of them since they all seem the same to be me and typically harbor annoying fanbases (like the Nuxtaku guy who got people to raid this site for Ishuzoku Reviewers). Much like V-tuber's really.

Just coming back in to anime and here I was thinking I'm having poor luck finding at least a few I'd like to watch consistently.
Unfortunately, so many I find are either not very knowledgeable and/or bring Western poli... nonsense in to the discussion.

As somebody mentioned earlier, the smaller the channel the better seems to ring true most often so far.

I think lately (like since the pandemic) there's a big growth in the reaction video AniTubers (Seemingly everybody and your mom are doing it. Even channels which reacted to other stuff, switched tracks.) and even less people who make reviews and analysis.

So I guess your average anime fan just wants to reexperience emotionally some anime episodes (along with their parasocial streamer of choice) instead of a deeper dive into what said episodes wanted to say. I don't understand that, but whatever.

i avoid them as most will abide by algorithm law to only speak based on their fan's majority opinion when they get big.

I used to watch mainly Akidearest a lot, but eventually she grew out of anitube and started doing her own thing. I still watch her content though. I stopped for awhile, but I'm slowly starting to get back into it. I would also sometimes occasionally watch TheAnimeMan and I remember I watched CDawgVA's Black Butler Sebastian phone call prank vids. I also rarely used to watch Lost Pause's different visual novel series and a few of Misty Chronexia's anime top 10s.

I'm kind of sad that anitube isn't really a thing anymore and isn't what it used to be, but I'm glad I watched their content several years ago when they were still a thing, but they are definitely what made me more interested in watching anime and kind of somewhat shaped me as a person in a way lol.

Thank you Akidearest for getting me into anime and further growing my love and interest in Vocaloid when I first found out about it lol.

@RareAnimeHunter I think it was a QnA, or, a few QnA's where they answered questions and they mentioned how one question they are often asked is when they will get married. I think all they have ever said to that question is that they will get married when they are ready iirc.

But yeah they are still just dating.

@Sheepgrl Bro what? Anime videos still get a lot of views. It's always been full of shit, though there are some.good ones here and there . No such thing as it used to be good here.

stopped watching them a long time ago, maybe I didn't dig deep enough but most of them didn't really make any interesting or entertaining videos anymore, gigguk's season reviews would sometimes be fun but he started cramming so much shit into it, he didn't give each anime nearly enough attention. If anitubers came from the anime industry their content would be a lot more interesting, Like doing interviews with the creators to get their insights and share their experiences of working on their animes, i'd pay to watch stuff like that. The most an anituber, who's just a viewer like yourself, can do is make a funny skit or analysis about an anime.

@Mattenan I never said anime videos get less views. Don't know where you got that from. Also never said their content USED to be good, I'm just saying I prefer the content that they used to make, but I still sometimes watch them--mainly Akidearest as I have slowly gotten back into watching her content.

Wait, aren't you that guy who said the appeal of Jackson Pollock was that he used a lot of paint?
