| Hilarious and smooth confession. Aside from that, some thoughts on Hina. Hina and Taiki would have NEVER worked out with the way things were, and would have only constituted as bad writing. I don't get why people are still hung up about it even after she has moved on, however gradually. It would take something so incredibly immense for Taiki to stop liking Chinatsu, and most probably would not make sense. The arc of rejection and moving on is already good as it is. To suggest there's "hope" when the boundary has been clear is delusional. Also saying "author just wants Hina with anyone" is a bit misleading. Hina is a pretty awesome person, she naturally would attract others anyway. How she reacts to those things from this moment onwards is more important than that. If author makes it bland and shallow then sure, but Haruto liking her is not out of nowhere. The one thing I can criticize about this manga is that sometimes it uses cliches to its detriment. Being interrupted during confessions can only get you so far (that happening once is already 1 too many). Granted, the failed confession last chapter being interrupted was not necessarily the point, but only a means for Chinatsu to realize hiding is not the right call and is starting to make things worse for those around them. But still annoying. There are several other cliches that were pretty poorly integrated as well. Good thing about this manga however is the characters and how they react to the situations they are presented with. Their actions are consistent (so far anyway) and they feel human (except a few bits at the beginning). They've also matured rather nicely, and the difference between students of different years in this regards is not glossed over. |
