people say it simply because of his interest in sex and the like, which shonen mc usually just don't have or isn't shown.
aside from that he is completely different then from a normal teen, a normal gen Z.

It is genuinely painful and annoying to see people dumb down Denji's character to just "haha, sex" instead of putting in effort to understand how well-written and complex he is.

We get a genuinely unique and interesting shonen protagonist for once, but people would rather latch onto a single character trait and ride it to oblivion. It's genuinely disrespectful towards how much work and thought Fujimoto put into him.

god no, denji is idiotic stupid lad...but he is kind too and he has dreams...he had a past that one could never imagine, he is a growing character..flawed ofc but gen z people make their trauma their best identity...denji wants to move forward...so no !! he's kind of like realistic tho

It's really easy. The "generations" classification is based on the sociological and economical environment people grew up in.
There's nothing about the setting of the anime that resembles our modern day world (the impact of devils on the life of common people is actually insane. Also some parts of human history are missing, so CSM os basically an uchronia).

So yeah, our generations don't apply to the CSM world.

We may still see some things in common with him, but tbh Denji's character is so uninhibited that it's actually difficult to find him relatable.
Except for that panel in the first chapter, if you know what I mean...

No bro wtf. Most Teenagers think about Sex and girls and not Only Zoomers. If you look back 10 years Millennials did the same and Gen X and Boomers and also every other Generation.

Denji’s character is a depiction of the problems all humans face, so no specific generation, the series centres mostly around the hedonic treadmill and how Denji deals with this, so actually Denji is probably one of the most relatable characters ever as the problem he faces in the series is something everyone will face as a matter of fact, the references to his sexual desires are simply to expand on the hedonic treadmill and shows the range of desires that can go unfulfilled

Technically he was born in 1980~81 so he would be late Gen X - early Millennial

I think denji don't represente the gen z in general, it's like the kid with family issues and tells post-ironic jokes about his porn addiction in class.

Denji has traits both relatable and reflective of every generation. He’s not solely written to be representative of a singular generation but rather reflect on the struggles anyone from any generation might deal with.

Yeah sure. He‘s a potentially immortal half demon, fighting monsters and joining a Top Secret organisation in his teens.

If that’s not depicting Generation Z in it‘s purest essence then I don‘t know what is 🤡🤡

On a semi real note: He‘s too introverted, lonely and hurt.

Gen Z, generally speaking, seems to be a lot more outgoing and confident, having very strong opinions, while following certain trends or popular mindsets.

Denji is an antisocial outcast of society that doesn‘t know how to act or what to believe in

Omg Denji is so relatable.🤯🤯🤯
I was manipulated by others in my whole life. I grew up without parents. He searched for the bare minimum in his whole life like we Gen Zs. We are all so underprivileged like denji that we get to watch anime and have free times.
I was manipulated by the first girl I ever feel emotionally attached to. When I finally got a family, my sister figure and brother figure gets killed. Not to mention, I'm immortal.😉
Damn, you're a genius. Denji is literally me fr ngl.
