To the last episode they'd gather everything - love, death, combat and pathos :)

And then she died. Thank god there will be no sequel. What a rubbish show and an embarrassment by association to the brilliant Outlaw Star.

Ending was kinda meh, reminded me too much of Fractale [which already had me irritated to begin with]. Decent show overall, but a bit too cliched and rushed at the end to really be great.

What are atmosphere and attraction doing on the asteroid? Now that I think about it... What is attraction doing on all the ships?

The only good thing about this finale is that it followed through on the promise that Meifon would live only a short while longer. Given how bland this show is I would have more expected her to be given an easy out and getting to have space adventures forever.

Seeing what looks like a teenage girl talking to an old woman but it being the girl who's close to death was kind of interesting, too.

I guess this anime was good , but compared to Outlaw Star it was great.

The ship on the asteroid spontaneously exploding was rather pointlessly random and sudden. Also, regarding Goryu's plan to mass produce killer bio-androids, did Li Meifon not just destroy the facility with near completed ones upon her arrival? He should not have even needed her in the first place.

Whilst the conclusion was satisfying enough, the journey that this entire show took on was disappointingly dreary.
At least the mystery and the drama did not drag on for longer than necessary, so the relatively short length of this series was welcomed.

I'd really hoped she'd survive, however inelegant that might have been plot wise. Something like Goryuu's dead, here's your reward. And so the facility had to be destroyed to prevent any alteration to Meifon.

I don't know, in Crno Crusade, it was all about the sacrifice, but here it's more about ineluctability. It leaves a bitter taste.

outlaw star was pretty bad, i don't understand how that one got so popular when this is clearly the superior show

Disappointing finale, but the show was decent otherwise. I felt bad that she did die afterall.

Taffei clearly disintegrated with Goryu, and suddenly she has another one. A clone or is there a whole species of sword-transforming ferrets out there? That was a big problem with the show, it left out a lot of interesting world-building it could have done, not to mention the lack of meaningful action. The characters were cool, but they did absolutely nothing.

Outlaw Star it was not, 6.5/10

The ending was textbook generic scifi, right down to the exploding facility. Agree with comments above, at least they let her die in the end: that was a bolder decision than i expected from this show.

Not that it really matters for an ending like this, but during their battle, Goryu knocked Taffei out of her hand and we don't see what happens to it again. The sword she runs him through with was his own. Taffei is not shown during their Metroid escape sequence so presumably it re-catted and was nestled down in Meifon's roboboobs.

Taffei (note the wing-y handguard design):

Goryu says he'll lend her his sword (compare the handguard especially):
