The shield hero is utterly pathetic in every sense of the word.

Quality and animation look better than S2. Pacing seems to be improved as well as explaining things better. Hopefully this season turns their image around

Season 2 definitely wasn't as good as season 1 but it was ok.

However the start of season 3 makes me feel like we missed something between the finale of 2 and now.

And the old king is the staff hero? give me a break...

I seriously dont see how Naofumi unites everyone. This is a dark, corrupted and broken world that the Queen just doesn't see.

So far, I'm liking this more than Season 2 so that's a good sign.

Naofumi and his party, after the end of Season 2, embarks on a journey to Zeltoble to buy Lurolona villagers who were sold as slaves.

Also, the three other heroes are missing and The Phoenix awakes in three months.

So every slave trader can just claim that they have slaves from that village and people will buy them for a lot of money without any evidence? Yeah, no way this is how it would actually work if the plot did not demand it. Also could that hot woman be the staff hero?

I get that the demi-human kid was taking a (poorly acted) dive, but throwing his payment to him in a bottle when they're still in the arena works antithetical to a discreet deal like that.

It's rather weird to see an animation where they changed AGAIN the art styles of the characters into something else again. What disappointment!

What's more of a disappointment is that they literally didn't even try reminiscing about the previous season and straight out forgotten all about it, and showed as a fight out of nowhere?! Now that's just nasty business.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Idk how is it as adaptation, but as first episode of season 3 it looked alright so far. Maybe foolish, 1st episode probably always eat most budget to get fans, lets see in 3-4 episodes.

Wow, huge jump in quality from last season. I hope the quality stays the same and it's not just because it's the first episode.

The visuals for the opening were absolutely stunning!

Since season 4 just started airing today, I finally decided to watch the 3rd season of Tate no Yuusha, after the disaster and disappointment the 2nd season was.

Well, if I'm being honest, we aren't off to a good start. I already have a bunch of doubts about what's going on. For starters, I might be remembering wrong, but I think the Demi-humans concept was not really touched on the 2nd season, so all the drama is not really fresh for me, since I watched the 1st season more than 6 years ago. But I do remember Naofumi taking that Land they talk about this episode (that was Raphtalia's home) after all the struggle he went through, and I also remember him wanting for that place to be kind of safe for Demi-humans, once again, for Raphtalia.
My question is, why did he remember all of a sudden to buy all the slaves? He could have done quite some time ago. But I'll let that slide, because maybe he just didn't have the money.

Now, what's up with the Vassal heroes? You're really telling me there are 7 more heroes, and that no one remembered "hmm, maybe we should search for them to help out with these "Waves" thing". I thought the Vassal heroes were a thing from the other Worlds, but apparentaly I misinterpreted it. And one of them is right there in the castle. I suppose this is going to be relevant later in the story, but after this we jump to Naofumi's quest to buy every slave from Raphtalia's land, so this revelation didn't have much purpose for the plot right now, and I think it's something that should have been revealed much quicker, and not 39 episodes later.

And not the other heroes disappearing, AGAIN. Like, those guys are useless, and it really gets on my nerves that they made these 3 other heroes all equally useless. They all act the same too. I feel like the Vassal heroes are just something they created so that Naofumi finally gets some support.

I feel like they aren't properly explaining the plot, again. This whole Vassal heroes thing deserves a better explanation. Also, Malty is missing. At least that's a win.

Well, at least the final seemed to indicate we're getting a proper arc, although this whole quest appeared out of nowhere.

A positive point is that I actually liked the opening. The song is much better than the 2nd season's one, and is more on pair with the first 2 openings, and I really liked the animation, I don't know, the opening really fits the songs rhythm, and I feel like it overall fits the anime at this point of the story.

After the absolute absolute disaster the second season was, in practically every aspect, it goes without saying the hopes are as little as they could be for this third season. And that’s kinda disappointing, because the first season back then was actually some ride. Though leaving had and ifs aside, they didn’t waste any time and jumped straight into the plot.

Naofumi and co., who now have already dealt with that glasses maniac and returned from that other world, the news of the other three heroes suddenly disappearing from the face of earth must be some news to Naofumi lol. Neither they could deal with the waves nor could save normal folks from it, so kind of goes without saying shame and embarrassment played the main hand behind their disappearance lol.

I don’t know but the feeling I get from watching this episode is I must’ve missed something in between before jumping to this third season, which ain’t true in reality, but then again, this is the way they adapt things… rushing through them. Anyways, in an attempt to build himself an army of demi-humans slaves and in turn save them, the gang literally went to the good ol’ battlegrounds where people gamble over who could win. Good for them, they easily beat the first joke pair.

Anyways, if anything, the visuals and animation is looking better than the last time around, but that wasn’t any bar either lol. Opening sounds kinda same but is fire, with those visuals.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with this feeling

Like say they're already starting with MC mentioning the blood sacrifice aura curse but last season didn't even mention the thing altogether!

Ok, so it's just me not remembering stuff, they just skipped that in season 2.

Meh, at least there is the connection between the s2 to this one. Hopefully they don't screw this season up like they did with the last one... 6/10 for now
