the horror is weak

as a police officer i can say REAL horror can not be found in anime/movies/serials/games and not in "realistic CGI and practical effects from live action movies" - it exists in real life only.

anyways i've mentioned it in ep discussion topics earlier that DG is much more like a comedy/parody to "horror", and after watching latest ep i do confirm this again.

@sasahara_n How is it even a parody tho? Did it ever take the horror aspects to a comedic side like Mieruko? No, so it's not a parody fam. Also, we all know how much gruesome and cruel real life is. We're not taking things to a more "realistic" side, the show is about supernatural stuff, not serial killers, abused children, rapists, gang wars and etc.(even though the last of some ghosts contain that).

@nicissad Then the problem is not the show but you my man. It just didn't suit your taste, easy as that.

@CrimsonTome no i think the problem is weak horror, annoying characters, okay animation and writing, and sub par pacing. i will say that the tunnel f episodes were actual pretty well done with the horror and writing aspect because i didn't guess was what happening right away and i could def see people getting freaked out by the content

it's almost every ep of this show lol.


supernatural stuff is not the point of "horror" show.

@nicissad I can agree to some extent on ok animation, but annoying characters? You're tripping on that one a lot. Pacing is not a problem, as people constantly said since the very beginning, the initial episodes are all set up and the show has upped it's pacing quite a lot since God was introduced. Weak horror is also a bad take in my opinion, this is no Hollywood jumpscare movie, japanese horror is different and usually presents more psychological stuff or things that are downright creepy/tragic, putting the characters in bizarre situations that messes with their head. Also, annunciation house was better than F Tunnel.

Honestly I think the series is just not your style.

@CrimsonTome wdym i'm "tripping"? i've wanted to punt the main trio into a different dimension at least 5 times throughout the series. i was actually super excited for this series when i was picking out animes for the summer anime final fantasy based on the fact i love supernatural horror (hellraiser, house (1977), sinster, higurashi when they cry, train to busan, vhs 2) and this was very very underwhelming. i do not like jumpscare horrors unless they're done justice like the recently released talk to me and the cult classic stage fright. i think the main fact i haven't been creeped out or been on the edge of my seat this whole anime is because that yayoi girl always has some plan or method up her sleeve that she explains within 3 or 4 minutes how it works and saves the day. how the hell does this elementary (i forgot how old she is tbh) aged girl know all this info and is able to fight and collect at least 100 ghosts all by herself? does this ever get explained or are we supposed to just roll with it? does it have to do with her weird ass eyes? the characters (so far) just have so much plot armor it's hard to get invested. sorry i basically wrote an essay but i just wanted to get my point across to you because you've just been saying "this isn't your style" when supernatural horrors are some of my favorites when executed correctly.
