| So Dubu's disciples doubled down on their mentor's error in ch. 178 and also revived Beru out of thin air... He was not named, but it was clearly Beru. On the surface the revival of Igris also appears to be a mistake, since she was also shadowed in the previous timeline. But Bellion mentioned Igris was one of Ashborn's chief commanders; thus Sung could have got her differently, without needing to go through the Necromancer trial (which did not occur in the new timeline). For instance this Igris might have come along with Bellion's original shadow army. But Beru is different. Beru is a newborn, spawned by the Ant Queen in Jeju isle in the original timeline. The Jeju isle of this timeline is intact though, and we know Sung did not bring him from the future, since he did not technically time travel to the past, he rather had the Rulers rewind back time. So in this timeline Beru, Tank, Fang, Iron and Greed should not exist because they were not killed and revived by Sung via the original way. However Sung could have accessed Tank and her bears, and Fang and his High Orcs off-scene, at the dimensional drift, and extracted their shadows that way after defeating them. We know he collected millions of shadow troops from the 8 Monarchs he defeated off-screen. Everyone could have rejoined Sung as a shadow in a new way, except those three: Beru, Iron and Greed. Beru is not even born yet in the new timeline, nor will he ever be; he's a remnant of the previous one, out of both place and time. In time travel lore terms Beru is a predestination paradox. Iron and Greed do not exist in the new timeline because Sung never killed the humans they originated from. So, assuming Dubu's disciples do not later also conjure Iron or Greed out of thin air, Beru should be the sole problem of the rest of the story. I strongly doubt Dubu did not realize Beru's continued existence was a serious issue. But apparently he liked him too much to kill him, so he rematerialized him with no explanation whatsoever... |
