there is nothing special about him he's realistic he's not far from your average Joe who thinks he's someone special but he's not the devolopment hes had is insane with each death being meaningful death is not something you get used to that's a fact that's why I could not understand shinpeis charecter. subaru dying multiple times each time mentally affecting him leading to that break down scene in S1 in front of rem was brilliantly done subaru is the literal definition of good character devolopment but hey you could like who ever you want like erens a amazingly well written mc but not everyone likes him.
