Oi, speak for yourself. I never saw CSM as something extremely deep and complex. It was just entertaining manga with solid paneling and cool aesthetics.

I loved how this short story summed up all of those overanalyzers who had to fuel their own hallucinations and write essays on how just another pile of guts and blood symbolized anything, instead of just enjoying simple, yet entertaining manga with interesting approach to controversial elements (gore, violence, etc.).

Anyway, the score is propably the result of two factors: this manga's length (very short), and its topic. It was not meant to be anything big or thought provoking, so perhaps people decided that it was either too timid to get the highest scores, or just they couldn't handle with seeing themselves in those speech bubbles of people commenting over that guy's clip on YouTube.

Nah I respect the one shot and the art was decent so I gave it a 6 cause besides a good idea and good art is wasn’t that creative, like this feels like something he should’ve said on a twitter post and not waste his time making a whole one shot for it

I think it's because it was just too short. 20 page long one-shot mangas don't get a high rating, like almost never. This one-shot to me just felt like a random release. I really enjoyed it, but I can see why so many just don't care about it.

The thing about not finding a deeper meaning is fucking stupid. The original name of the manga is "listen to it normally", not "turn your brain off and consume your media like a zombie".

The whole point is a lot of people just misinterpret things wildly and the intended message just never gets across. The reason why the ending is impactful to the MC is that someone actually understands what he's trying to say. If everyone just ignores the message that's just equally bad, You all are proving his point, exactly, but not in the way you all think.

Like its current score, 6/10 is what it deserves.
Sure, the hidden meaning and irony of it all is a 7/10, but standalone as a story, it isn't exactly great, even if its intriguing.
