| Dress Up Darling, definitely a show I’m aware of, I up to this point had only seen a few clips of this show and seeing as this anime in particular is in the middle of a new season, I feel it’d only be fair to watch the first season seeing as the time is appropriate to watch it. Anyways I feel Gojo is a nice refreshing main character from the usual character we see in Rom Com animes as he’s more of a shy character in particular as compared to his counterpart, Marin Kitagawa is an energetic, high energy and confident gal. And also a person who believes individualism which I adore immensely. The only reason I’d say Gojo is shy is mainly because he doesn’t want a repeat of one of his friends from his childhood calling him a freak just because his grandpa makes Hina dolls. Marin’s also a cosplayer which I have a feeling this show is going to delve into that culture quite a bit here. As for the first episode in general had quite a lot of fun moments and I will say this is quite a unique premise and I really want to see more of this show I gotta say. Also really the opening and ending for this show in particular, they are both pretty nice I’m not gonna lie. Again pretty good episode, really enjoyed it, I can see why it’s popular with a lot of people. |

| Yeah not gonna lie, I am not invested at all in these characters nor the plot (and pretty crap backstory ngl) BUT I heard good stuff about this anime so maybe it gets better as the show goes on, then again it just might not be my taste but we'll see how that goes |

| The anime looks really pretty and the animation is quite smooth! And I think for a first episode, it had a really good pacing, while introducing us to the main characters, and showing us a bit about the 2 (more about Gojou). I liked the idea of Gojou finding someone that accepts his hobbies, and with whom he will be able to talk about said hobbies. It's really true that it's hard to talk with other people when you don't share the same interests, especially if you're a more shy or insecure person. I feel like anime fans in general can relate to this in some way (more the anime fans from a few years back though, since nowadays anime is much more "mainstream"), and that makes Gojou more relatable right from the get go. But I have to say the dolls are a bit creepy to me xD Calling them beautiful and whatnot is a bit too much for me, considering they look really creepy. Also, it seems the anime is going to have a big dose of fan-service... But I was already expecting that, considering some feedback I got from this anime. Anyways, I'm curious to see how Gojou and Marin's relationship develops, and if Gojou will be able to find more friends along the way too, and become more secure of who he is, and what he likes to do, and ends up respecting himself a bit more too! Edit: Forgot to mention, but the ending was really cute! Also, the scene where Gojou critiques Marin's sewing skills was quite funny. Also, the whole setting of Gojou making dolls is rather unique for anime and media in general, and that's interesting! |
