I was away from MAL during 6 days, and I saw that my post count had decreased by 8. It would be nice to get a notification when our posts get deleted (I do not believe to have posted any thing controversial too). Do threads get deleted a week or two later?

I too once had my posts deleted without notice. When I asked a mod, I was told it was because I had responded to another post that was deleted. The mod said I did not break any rules; I would have been notified if I had.

I see, thank you for your reply. Here, I am mostly confused about the relatively important number of posts that I would not have noticed normally due to regular posting. I do not believe to have posted any thing controversial myself in the last weeks.

They do not indeed, but one can wonder how moderation takes place. You also see threads with no replies since two weeks that get locked... Example:

You are correct, this locking thread stuff is a mystery that I also would like to know more about, this should be written on the rules somewhere!

I thought the mods message someone when their post is about to be deleted or locked. The two of my threads back then got deleted + locked, but the mods messaged me about it.

Thank you deg! I have started investigating into that...

Thank you for your reply, I have not received any PM from moderators, very strange...

I also got a post of mine deleted recently without notice. I could not find the thread I replied to anymore too.
Would be nice to be notified in such cases. Maybe with a standard message.

I'm planning on making a script to save all notifications received on your MAL account, so even if they are deleted and you were mentioned in a deleted post, you will still be able to see a preview of the text and the user name and link of the person who mentioned you.

This is kind of not related to this topic, but it is at the same time. It will take a while for me to do it though, if I ever do it.

Oh, this is quite interesting, thank you for letting us know about your (possible) ongoing work!

I posted on Anime DB - Post Modification Requests Here yesterday since I saw some duplicates in the queue.

I just checked back to see if they already modified the post and deleted the duplicate entry and found that my post was removed along with the duplicate. Well, it's fine (I don't really care about the title) but I just find it odd or a little bit concerning. Why delete such post, eh? They could've just edited the post with strikethroughs (like they usually do) so I'd know that my request was already dealt with. I hope they notify us of deletions, etc. I almost thought I posted in the wrong board but I didn't, the post just got removed. Pretty worrying that any of our posts can just be deleted like that without any notice whatsoever. It's not even a spam. Uhm, and the Anime DB - Recent Entry Merges/Splits/Removals/Denials isn't always up-to-date. Thank goodness there's DBSentinel: https://sean.fish/dbsentinel/anime/58767

@IridescentJaune This is quite unpleasant indeed. The moderation is very inconsistent here, and suggestions in this board are usually ignored. They cannot even fix this glitchy website (that got much worse after the last "update"; I never had error messages when I was posting before).

Impressible list of Interest Stacks by the way.

@Meusnier I don't really know why my post got deleted along with the duplicate entry. Maybe because I shared links? But other users also share links of duplicates like I did that's why I found it odd. It's not that hard to modify the post and add some strikethroughs to signify that the request has been done. Well, I guess it's easier to delete... I just hope they won't repeat that for my future requests. I might just lose interest. Or perhaps that's their goal? So people will stop submitting requests?

Anyhow, thanks! I like making stacks because the search bar is kinda useless without any filters.

I am not sure, but they might have implemented a new policy to delete posts instead of editing them to save some time. It would be quite disappointing, but not that surprising either.

You are welcome. I had never seen someone create so many stacks before.

@Meusnier Yeah, not surprising. I tend to always check that board for recent requests, edits, deletions and whatnot since the other board isn't up-to-date. I guess I'll just use DBSentinel for that.

@Meusnier, Guess what?! They deleted another post. AGAIN! Damn. I saw some duplicate entries in the queue and posted there to test if my post will get deleted again. My hunch was right. They deleted my post. Do they have a vendetta or something? Other users also post requests to remove duplicates but their posts aren't removed.

I posted these two which both got denied:
https://sean.fish/dbsentinel/anime/59474
https://sean.fish/dbsentinel/anime/59473

I didn't submit any but why delete my post yet again? It's getting frustrating. I feel like if if I post there again (even about something else and not duplicates) my post will just get deleted.

Actually, my trailer requests have also been ignored. That's why I just post some of the trailers in the forums after sending my requests. The trailers are for old entries. I checked the trailers page and only trailers for new stuff got approved.

I really wish they notify us when posts and other stuff get deleted.
