the cgi doesn't bother me unless you see their mouths flapping. togasa getting the shitty end of the stick wow, can't believe he divorced his wife...at least the OG english voices are back!

Certainly a new flavor of Ghost in the Shell, to say the least. My impression of the 3DCG isn't too bad honestly but I'll will probably take more time to get used to. Background scenery looks pretty darn good though, I must say. Definitely not in Japan too.

Yikes, Togusa though. Aside from his character design which is by far the most significant, getting duped by Section 9's members and divorce with his wife definitely sounds like a lot to take in. At least he got a pretty cool moment this episode, I suppose.

Looks like the Chief on the other hand is up to no good, that's what I like to see lol.

I suppose it's safe to confirm now that the Major did indeed return to Section 9 after the events of Solid State Society, which is great of course.

I kept my expectations low, but I was still disappointed.

Main offenders:

Major looking like a 14 year old. Togusa, who is supposed to be in his 40s, looks barely over 20.

Bloodthirsty Batou. The man who saw the horrors of war is now gleefully pro-war.

Togusa is divorced. I wanted to throw something at my monitor when I heard it. Why did they do this to him?

Yikes. The 3D sure is something else. Looks like plastic toys.

Wasn't that bothered by the 3DCG. The movement was maybe a bit janky especially in the scene where the Major drinks a beer and walks away from her car. But apart from that it was nice to see the cast again. And the behavior and mannerisms are far more in line with their previous iterations than in ARISE.

Also I like seeing the bits of continuity here and there like with the portraits of the PMs. It's been years and I recognized the female ex-PM right away.

The only thing I struggled a bit with was the concept of the sustainable war. They throw the word around but the few quips at the start were hardly enough to get a full grasp on what exactly happened and its implications, so I had to look it up. Hopefully they substantiate the concept a bit more throughout the series.

Even with the strange CGI that makes Major look weird, I'm going to push through.
Meant to watch this a while ago but was initially put off.
As long as the episodes are somewhat interesting then I should be able to watch it.

Why does Japan keep giving low budget CGI to sequels of beloved popular franchises?
You all need to watch Nami.
