well holy shit did he just snap or what. this episode is totally the game changer. up until this episode this anime totally giving the vibe of that its a mash up between one punch man, saiki kusuo and every other magical school anime but this episode totally changes everything.

One of the best chinese anime I've ever watched it has about the same amount of references(memes) in it that any chinese anime has though.

Whoever likes slice of life anime doesn't have any IRL friends.

Finally after 13 episodes of the Wang ling hiding his powers he finally unleashes it. Still a bit weird how the enemy girl still is in tact after reciving that barrage of attacks.

This episode completely turned itself around. This was so good. The action, the development, the feels, everything. It may not be one before, but the romance oozes out completely with this one. Wang Ling finally turned into an actual human, one with emotions and weaknesses. How the mighty have fallen. Despite being all powerful, even more powerful than Goku UI, he failed to save someone he dearly loves, because he's finally turning into human, which is kinda beautiful and tragic in a way. Obviously he'll find a way cause he's still the all powerful, but this brief moment was phenomenal.

I was iffy on the show but this episode got to me! Now I understand the plot reason for the episodes before it seeming so emotionless. I didn't get why all the characters were so simple (other than thats what usually happens in cultivation novels lol), but since it's through the mc's emotionless view it makes sense

Wang Ling's cultivation should be at around the True Immortal level (based on a source that said he broke through a realm every 2 years of his life and he is now 16) so he would have either been going easy on her to prolong the torture (or out of concern for the world itself not being able to handle his power) or ended up being weaker than usual because of the rage.

I can't remember but I think she mentioned her cultivation level in one of the episodes but Wang Ling is at least 2-3 full realms stronger.

If he was using his full power she would have been annihilated if he flicked her.

Agreed, I loved everything about this episode; the build up, the emotion, finally seeing him break loose...but this almost ruins it. We don’t hardly get any satisfaction from that outburst, she feels no fear or regret, she just takes it all, giggling through it. It’s immensely disappointing.

Yeah I’m not buying that. I haven’t read the source material, so feel free to call me an ignorant idiot, and I’m not trying to call you out, but it just doesn’t hold water with me.

I don’t think Wang Ling was going easy on her, it’s quite clear that he loses control and it seems to me he was actively trying to fight her as brutally as he could (without destroying the planet), and if he was trying to torture her it wasn’t working because she showed zero signs of fear or regret; to the contrary she was literally giggling.

And I don’t understand why him being in a rage would make him weaker, throughout the show it’s be explained that him keeping his emotions in check reels in his power, it makes no sense that him letting his emotions loose would also weaken his power.

My theory is that she took all that punishment and was still smiling/laughing through it because the writers/directors wanted her to seem truly evil/irredeemable, but in the end it actually just made the scene immensely unsatisfying for the viewer.

i pretty much agree with everything you said. he 100% lost control, blacked out from overwhelming rage. and yet, she wasn't even incapacitated after all those hits she took?

agreed, what an epic but unsatisfying fight. Bitch is literally a ragdoll that is unaffected by his so called god powers. I mean, Sun Rong literally got one shot but dude in his rage couldn't even hit hard enough to make her shut up.

It was at least satisfying to find that he isn't a frigid dude and everything so far has affected him emotionally and how much he cares for them. It's really unfortunate because the fight was otherwise very cool.

I did not expect this from this series, whoa. Not the fight, the emotion from Wang Ling. So he chose to redo it all to save her.
