Actually the fandom with the most trolls in currently is Ishuzoku Reviewers. |

A normal example is you'll need Eight 10/10s to counter One 1/10s to balance the score back to a 9.0. And the ratio increases if you go higher by every point. The reason is most of the shounen anime in the top page were in a hidden war. So, it's not like they get a clean slate. The fact remains that FMA:B, HxH (2011), S;G (not a shounen but whatever) were in a three way war and shows like Gintama, CLANNAD AS, LOGH etc. were collateral to their downvotes. They are only looking good because both downvoting and upvoting were removed and since the weight of downvoting is more for shows above 9.0 (mathematically), the removal of both improved their scores. So yeah, but probably peanuts share compared to even anime like YoriMoi's trolls. ARIA the Origination's rise by 0.9 yet not reaching the original 8.64 also proves that. I even sent the Mods with PM of the stats manipulation without being caught and how they worked (techniques that rendered illegitimate account removal thread useless). I am not gonna share it with others because that will give a way around for future trolls. In fact, one of the top mods also said they were looking into similar measures I suggested through PM and even said they would bring my other suggestions to the development team because they could be doable and certainly help fight trolls. |

| @shanimebib you pretty much nailed it once again. The outcome of these change come from different community of trolls battling against each other. You have different size of trolls community coming from different fandoms. So that makes it ridiculous to not only blame only one single fandom for being responsible for everything, but also chance that the fandom the person blame had a cumulative result of trolls distinctly inferior compared to the other fandoms. As someone who is fan of none of the anime from the top 10 I'm what I'd call a third person perspective. I know for sure that Gintama fans are the less vocals haters out of the top rated shounen of the top list. |

That's not so much a problem with Gintama itself or its fans as it is with how MAL tracks different installments of an anime franchise. As I understand it, there has been some discussion among the site developers about ways to better handle franchises as a whole rather than as separate pieces, possibly including developing a "collective MAL rating" which could beget a Top anime franchises list. |

There are over a dozen installments, and 3 of them in the top 50 (4 in the top 55), does MAL need to make the Monogatari series into one installment, or do we leave them as individual seasons? It's no different of an issue to Gintama, except that Gintama is rated much higher. MAL tracks shows in accordance to their releases. If a show like Gintama airs 51 episodes and stops airing, then that 51 episode release counts as it's own season, those episodes are not added to the original release (201 episodes) of "season 1" I don't see multiple Gintama installments in the top 30 as a problem, the show isn't like Naruto in terms of being counted as one release. Plus how can you say it's an issue when you haven't even started or finished watching Gintama? |

| It doesn't really affect me since I never bought into this site's top anime list with too much hot garbage and btw, I prefer the scores my favorite anime get on ANN than on this site. At least on ANN, my favorite underrated get classified as good to very good than on this site and no "Top Anime" list being all over the place like here. Early MAL was better than the site I'm seeing right now. By it, I mean the current "top anime" scores themselves. |

Gintama is pure comedy and we all know comedy is subjective plus comedy anime getting such mindless praise anywhere is still unbelievable. |

Same with r/Top 50, anilist, anidb and even Japanese sites. Not to mention Gintama° was the fans choice as AOTY in TAAF2016. Gintama is also ranked as the highest ranked shounen anime in NHK's 100 greatest anime of 100 years of anime and the only shounen anime to have featured 4 characters from it in 100 greatest characters of 100 years of anime but the trash talk never ends. Do they ask why Shokugeki, SnK, Kuroku no Basuke, Haikyuu, BnHA etc. with so many sequels don't make the cut? @Kurt_Irving: And they said it was "comedy". |

| Lmao the scores and ranks are even worse than before. I love how all the titles I love saw substantial score drops yet the ones I don't love or just don't care for... they all remained virtually the same or even went up :) oh how I love this site. |
