THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
As this "movie" is pretty much divided in 9 parts I will therefore also comment on it part by part.

Part 1: So the first part being the opening part was pretty intense, that's sure something you'd call an opening, very interesting animation and setting if you ask me. But not really much context. But well not a bad start.

Part 2: The animation and sequences on this part was pretty damn amazing if you ask me. The lack of voice lines other than the sound effects was for me a bit lacking but still the overall sight of animation was really very impressive in terms of quality. A bit to be expected to what happened in the end though!

Part 3: This animation style sure had the typical oldish style to it, especially similar to like gundami-ish and some other older type of anime. Pretty nice action in this one.

Part 4: Ah the first that actually has some voice acting guess this is normal as this part was also almost 20 minutes long compared to the others. It also had a completely different art style but it sure had a quite disturbing start with that old mans head... the rest of the episode was pretty generic they all do have one theme in common I guess and that it has something to with robots which is obvious hence the name. Still pretty impressive episode as it also showed various different emotions in this one, especially towards that ending. Quite liked this part, let's see what's next.

Part 5: That sure looked like a very fancy Disney Land from the future! Interesting episode though and showed some really interesting emotional factors there. That robot really had some good dedication. That ending was a bit confusing with the whole flight, but I guess it sre gave it that more majestically feel to be honest! That ending was also pretty crazy suddenly! Really interesting yet also rather confusing episode.

Part 6: A completely different type of animation and setting, really nice use of the black and white here I must say. Very impressive in general.

Part 7: Pretty interesting for this year that the English was actually very properly even to today's standard that was pretty damn great! Really nice episode as well in both animation and story! The parts with actual voice lines really have something more to it I must say! Really found this quite a lovely part I must say!

Part 8: A whole more modern animation approach in this one, also a lot more grungy and animation was really lit in this one I must say. The music was also key, but the lack of any voices did make it less interesting. Still that robot combination and creation was really something!

Part 9: Pretty fun ending just like the opening, that whole creation with the Robot Carnival assembly sure was quite something. Really interesting in general and a good slot to all these little parts that form Robot Carnival.

In general I quite liked it to be honest, had some really interesting parts and art styles in it!

Great anthology: beautiful animation demo, a few nice scenes and some very 80s low points.

Enjoyment: 2~5/5

Score: 7.5/10

That was a cool OP to the anthology with animation style reminiscent of Otomo because of his directing. It looks beautiful with fitting music.

The is one hell of an opening for the movie or nine short stories collection. One of the most crazy opening to a series/movie!
