Novel idea, but the short runtime killed it. Fanservice galore though.

This special was such a treat! I loved this little trip down the memory lane, even though that alternate future in which Fujiko, Jigen, and Goemon aren't Lupin's friends was a bit painful, especially Jigen's condition.

But I loved how even so they were still drawn to each other in those circumstances, and Lupin was sure to make those two pay leaving them behind like that in that time period. lol

This special has some interesting concepts, but fails to do anything truly unique.
Seeing CGI cars in Lupin really hurts.
There's a reason why Lupin III: Part I writing never really stuck around. It didn't age well. This special tries to emulate it, but fails ultimately.
In short, don't try to make sense of the Lupin timeline, it doesn't work.

6/10
PROS:
- Having any Lupin is better than no Lupin
- Premise is unique
- A few jokes were funny
CONS:
- Lackluster animation
- Poor use of all of it's characters
- Executed as a generic time travel plot

well that was pleasant surprise turned out to be crazy mismash of some important part 1 & one late part 2 episode and was blast to watch those recurring edgy villains Mr X and Kyousuke Mamo. It was really interesting to watch how the old events got altered and I always had a feeling Goemon would joins up with Fujiko if he hadn't meet Lupin (this also quite implies at the spinoff).

Honestly my nitpick would be that damn CGI even for small seconds and also the events might feel too disjoint/random as standalone unless anyone did watches older parts. The length was alright but the animation could been better. Still overall good callback to old episode feel and now here's hoping someday we will get another special regarding Mamo (from Mystery of mamo) who was actually seen one of Koike's Lupin movie.

Yeah there was one shot of Zenigata chasing Lupin through the time hole and it panes out and you just see an awkward CGI Zenigata arm out the window waving and it was atrocious.

Too bad a lot of the original voice actors for the villains had passed away before this was released. Green jacket is my favorite ever though so I'm always up for seeing these guys though. A fast and loose green jacket plot is unfortunately still better than most of the nonsensical and lazy entries in the Lupin universe.

This is just like the first episode of Lupin III ever, except Goemon is in it
Glad to see Mr.X still alive and kicking after being kicked three times xD
I remember Mamo Kyousuke and his time machine too

Haha that T-Rex reminds me of a game called Red Alert 2

What a big fanservice
Or so I thought, it's actually really decent for a plot
Why only one episode? It's so good :(

That was fun overall. A good watch!

Kinda ridiculous having the voice actor of Megure (Detective Conan) in this as Mr. X lol

I enjoyed the OVA and it was a nice little call back to Lupin III Part 1.

This special was so much fun! I was giggling so much delight over the amount of fan service. A nice trip down memory lane.
Watching it dub, it only made me think of what it would be like if they had actually dubbed the Green Jacket series.
The scene with Lupin and past Jigen was really amusing to watch. However, it made me a bit confused as to how Jigen doesn’t know about Lupin. Im not sure if A Woman Called Fujiko Mine is even considered canon in terms of the animes in it’s entirety. But if so, Lupin should’ve wore his green jacket during that bit. Just a nitpick.
Otherwise, great little OVA and nice recreation of the original episode from the first series.

If you thought the CG was off putting in this, try watching the special, Good Partner. The CG is literally Berserk 2016 bad..

I did see that special. While it wasn't great by any means, it was better than this. I do recall the bad CGI, notably the shots of hands playing the piano. While that was certainly bad, the rest of the special was decent enough. I'd rate that one a 7/10.

This especially deserved to be a longer special to establish themes better and give a better nostalgic trip. I would've loved to seen a more extended alternative reality, not just about Goemon being the wanted one but Lupin is also unrecognized by the world of being a thief. Would've been fun to see, but alas, this special did well with it's run time, can't say I'm disappointed by it. Could've done a lot more with an extra 30-60 minutes on it though, and would've preferred that a lot more than some of the other specials we've seen pumped out in recent years.

I like the runtime as is, this is a nice constrained affair. Perhaps they knew not a lot of people had seen all of Lupin, so this was perfect for about as much as my patience could take. Interesting idea and celebration of the 50th anniversary and all.

I haven't got any issue with it.It was interesting and I more liked it than not.It brought me many feelings in this half hour.Polygang is real.I saw the serious iconic eps from part 1 so it wasn't big deal understanding them.My Fujilup heart was broken but then they fixed it again. And I thought about it again:how would part 1 be if it wasn't directed by Osumi Masaaki. It wouldn't have my favourite eps including for sure.God bless him for this
