Darling in the Franxx is a visually stunning and emotionally charged series that explores themes of love, identity, and the human desire for connection. Set in a dystopian future where humanity battles monstrous Klaxosaurs using mechas piloted by pairs of young pilots, the show blends heartfelt character dynamics with high-stakes action. The evolving relationship between Hiro and Zero Two serves as the emotional core, offering a poignant exploration of love and sacrifice. While the first half of the series captivates with its blend of mystery, romance, and character development, the latter half takes a bold, cosmic turn that divides viewers. Though its narrative ambition occasionally leads to uneven pacing and unresolved subplots, Darling in the Franxx remains a memorable journey with breathtaking visuals, compelling characters, and a deeply emotional resonance that leaves a lasting impression.

Man, how can I say that.

This anime moved me in a WAY, it brought out different emotions in different ways (like hate, joy and shaking my emotions. Ps: that ending is my fault lol).

I think it was a unique experience, it had a lot of ups and downs, I'm not going to lie, but with everything that happened and how it affected me, I have to give this anime a 10.

i dont think the ending was as bad as people made it out to be. the ending sequence might have been off, with how randomly virm showed up and how stagnant it was for a period after ep15, but honestly the ending itself wasnt too bad.
my favourite parts were still near the beginning, when we first meet everyone and see hiro and zero two's relationship.
it was alright

That was a beautiful ending.
If you are going to disagree with me, don't bother talking to me. I will seriously hurt you!

The last episode took the whole first three quarters of the anime, and violated it. In my opinion, if it would have ended on ep 18, i would have been hella hyped for a new season, as it would have been a good cliffhanger for a second season (are the others going to face the same fate, are Kokoro and Mitsuru lost causes???). I would have patiently waited for it. But no. The last quarter was a accelerating decline comparable to kidneys shutting down due to bad life choices. The second and third quarters were in my opinion, the best. It was what I wanted, basicly if Tengoku Daimakyou's Heaven and Delusion were both mixed on some mech anime. Then, episode 19 decided "fuck all" a nd decided to make the Doctor suddenly from an important character into one of the most pivotal ones. Jesus christ, there the fall started. Even episode 23 would have made a better ending, a cliffhanger that people would have probably taken better than this shit. We were literally edged for 2 episodes for Zero-Two and Hiro to come back, just for the writers to go "uhhhhhhhhhhh we meant it in a spiritual way"
Also, the fact that Mitsuru and Kokoro still ended up together, is, uhhh, weird. I guess i can forgive that the writers didn't just want to relight the originally slow building fire of their romance, but still left me with hella iffy vibes. As for other parts: Would have loved to see the main ten teaching about love and emotions to the brainwashed ones. Would have been a real nice worldbuilding scene and a fitting scene, as they were clearly going for the wholesome ending. As for how the last episode would have made "zero two and hiro fucking dies" ending a better one: Just don't check up on them at all. Simple. Maybe, at the end either now the main eight see a "jesus meets the disciples the last time before rising to heaven" type shit of Zero-Two and Hiro, or an old Ichigo sees two human kids that look exactly like Zero-Two and Hiro and of course insert "darling".
All in all the last episode was for me, an immesurable dissapointment. For a series that had been in such high standing before episode 18, this was a disgrace.
But hey, this is my opinion, i wont judge you if you love the ending

What can I say.... it's profoundly beautiful & it's imperfect, but that's how life is. Not everything will click into piece, just like how Hiro and Zero Two weren't able to keep their promise of coming back to Earth to meet up with their squad. The Music I think is the best thing about it, 5 yrs later and it still makes me feel exactly the first time I watched all the important moments of the show.

In a way I hate it, because the feelings it has left me are so dominant <3. I'm glad I got to witness a story like this.

Overall it was fine - when it came to the alien part, it got worse for me and in the end it got its typical Happy End, kinda boring, but at least it ended for good (i was procrastinating this anime for some time).

I put off watching this anime for so long because of the reviews and ratings, but in the end, it turned out to be one of my favorite anime of all time. For those who are thinking about watching it, I recommend it 10/10.

Masterpiece! I'm glad the ending was not that bad. Like they did sacrifice hiro and zero two but still we got the isekai'ed together. Just like zero two said before her final words.
