well, that was interesting. i came into this anime expecting utter trash of an anime and the first episode also seemed that way but i actually didn't hate this anime at all. now, it wasn't necessarily good either because the animation was just horrid and the dramatic close ups were kinda ridiculous. not even gonna complain about the weird gladiator x power ranger setting

what i really liked is there were real consequences- deaths of loved ones, blindness, etc

i honestly think this anime had potential, and it could have gotten better if there were more episodes to flesh out the story and characters. these 6 episodes just felt like an introduction to Filena's adventure. i really want to know the rest of the story but sadly the novel isn't translated and the game is kinda not an option for me. from the novel covers, i can tell there's a lot more to the story and the adventure

After watching all six episodes, color me impressed. I was expecting just the usual shounen vibe from this show but it hit me like a truck. The plot was surprisingly good and charcters played their part nicely. This show is an underrated gem.

Baraba ended up siding with Filena's crew in the end, but he died in the process. Even with her blindness, Filena can still fight well.

This was quite enjoyable, but like many good things, I wish that it were longer. There's a light novel, but I don't think it's been translated, however the Super Famicom game has a partial translation, so I'll certainly check that out someday.

it most certainly had potential but needed more episodes to show it.

I believe the translation is pretty much complete as far as important stuff and it's just minor things in the menus and the like that are untranslated, also I've noticed that once in a while the text scrolls out of the boxes and gets cut off, but it's usually like part of a letter or something. If you play it don't go in expecting anything too deep though, the story is heavily modified and handles everything in a much more typical silly 90s JRPG fashion, and from the tone on the actions in the cut scenes I don't think it's entirely the translator's fault (though I will admit the writing isn't the best...). To be honest I'm not super impressed with it and might give up on it soon.

Yeah, I'll definitely give the game a try sometime.

The Villgust Super Famicom game was pretty barebones in terms of story as well, but I still managed to find it enjoyable.
