We had a spectacular episode but at what cost? We lose Kamina in the process that’s what. I really can’t believe that he had to die in this episode and he was shaping to be one of my favourite characters for this show in particular, that death really hit me hard there. As ever the action scenes were great, it had the right amount of emotion and twists in this.

Again gobsmacked that this happened and all because of a sneaky kiss from Yoko. Poor Simon, hopefully he’ll grow into a better person despite the hardships he has to deal with. Hang in there, Simon, you can do it.

Good episode, I don't think their "love triangle" was presented convincingly and I was a bit confused when they suddenly started making drama out of it but....yes, this episode was epic and exciting, unfortunately it didn't surprise me because this anime is quite old and I couldn't avoid spoilers but nevertheless, I almost shed a tear, RIP Kamin, I don't know how this anime is going to cope without such a charismatic character, I wonder if MC will replace him worthily.

You can not convince me Yoko isn't a groomer he's 14 and she's 21. At least Kamina is 18, so that's fine. And I mean Simon is kind of a late bloomer at that, when I was his age I was physically practically the same as an adult except you lack a bit of broadness, kind of the "awkward" age but some 14 year olds can absolutely pass as an adult if you didn't know better. And obviously most 14 year olds guy's wouldn't mind getting groomed by a 21 year old, but all that said that doesn't change the fact that he's a kid and that it's weird from her perspective to do that. The age difference itself isn't that problematic either, I mean men die like 5 years earlier anyway so if he was 21 and she was 28 I see no issue or even 18 and 25. But this is defenitly a little weird.
Based Leeron calling her a pain/problematic woman.
At least she's kissing Kamina but I feel like she's not actually AS interested in him, even though he is IMO the better love interested or at least the more ethical one.
Like I feel like she's being a little manipulative here. Which is a shame cuz Kamina really is way too cool.
Anyway, Simon being upset is a little weird but at the same time how can you blame him when he's basically been groomed every episode up until this point.
And this is why Leeron is based for calling her "troublesome" if she somehow managed to drive any sort of wedge or create any sort of problem between Simon and Kamina that's like Catastrophic.

15:00 SEE and Kamina needed to do all that just to repair that damage to their bond.
Of course he does because Kamina is just that cool, but like without Yoko being weird, this wouldn't have been an issue.
I know Kamina has had major death flags the whole time, but he's also by far my favorite character so I still don't want him to actually die.
FUUUUUUUUck I knew it. And man I wanna cry or be sad but I'm also angry cuz that's absolutely still partially Yoko's fault. (of course we don't know if he'd have died either way but that hic-up in the plan because of the kiss sure didn't help)
Like I know it was coming to some degree because Simon is such a boring protagonist in comparison that he needs something like this to push him forward and Kamina just has Death Flags all over him but EPISODE 8?!
Shit man, that hurts. I guess it's relatively short 27 episodes but still man... we're supposed to go 19 episodes without him? Bro got a single kiss promised to pay it back 10 times, could not, and died for the kiss and well of course for his brother.
I took a really long break after episode 4, which made this hit so much harder as well.

... puta merda, aconteceu mesmo. eu achei que o titulo entregava demais, mas no fim... foi isso mesmo

a animação foi linda, toda a ambientação tava epica dms e no fim o shipp crescente que tava se formando de Yoko x Kamina aconteceu finalmente, mas utilizado de uma forma que, por mais que dava pra entender ao longo dos eps q ia acontecer (Simon gostando da Yoko), eu nao tava esperando. no fim, mano, eu não me incomodei, honestamente... até gosteiq teve mais do Simon né, então nao tenho nada a reclamar.
enfim, a luta foi mt boa, teve um desfecho triste porem epico demais... o Kamina é um bicho bem carismatico, bem único e vai fazer falta, com certeza. na verdade, estou bem curioso pra como o anime vai se desenrolar agr, porque se o monstrao morreu quem que vai assumir? o Simon????

to curioso mano, esse ep reacendeu a minha vontade de ver mais do anime, muito bom mesmo :o

I'm deeply surprised. Simon is presented with a situation that brings him face to face with his deepest fears, and the very person who's always been there to help him is part of what caused it. For the first time, I think we're seeing him deal with an internal conflict on his own, one that, if left unresolved, could end up isolating him again. The way Kamina's death is presented to us, after those hopeful moments with Yoko first, and then of pure friendship with Simon, which made us see that their love will prevail over the conflict, falls like a bucket of cold water, waking us up from the playful tone of the show and emphasizing that this shonen is serious. The crude end of the episode: Kamina, who was full of life and seemed capable of anything, dies, and his light goes out. A reminder that life is fleeting and forgives no one. Beyond that, it leaves us with hope for what's to come, because he believes with all his heart in the strength of his friends.
