| Skip and Loafer We follow Mitsumi Iwakura a country bumpkin who comes to one of Tokyo's prestigious high schools to CHANGE THE WORLD!! Or rather she wants to become a public servant to save Japan's rapidly declining communities in the country. On her first day she bumps into a friendly, easygoing guy named Sousuke Shima. They hit it off despite Mitsumi's social awkwardness and from that year on they grow as both classmates, close friends, and hints of something more... As with the best slice-of-life stories set in high school you get your menagerie of zany characters with their own quirks and secrets and filled with stories of youth, friendship, and relatable social anxieties. Mitsumi, Sousuke and their friends feel like real people struggling with things we may have struggled with back in high school. A girl who strives to get along with everyone and wants to make real friends, a girl hides behind a smiling facade because she hates that jealous/envious side of her, a girl who wants to be seen for herself not just a score waiting to be scored, a guy who hates fake people and people who pry at his past in order to use him, a girl who wants to live up to the expectations of others and has a hard time saying no, and more. Grats on this lighthearted slice of life manga getting an anime! |

| Medalist It's an ice skating manga that will make you smile and cheer for the energetic, likeable underdog, 12 year old Inori Yuitsuka. There's fantastic character developments, good rivals, and some of the most amazing reaction faces you'll find in manga. I also like the sketchbook-like art and the detailed frame-by-frame shot of each triple lutz and salchow. |

| Shiroyama to Mita-san The summary on the MAL page doesn't do this comedic manga justice. It's about an oddball couple in the countryside. Filled with wholesome, genuine laugh out loud moments. The zaniness, running gags, epic deadpan expressions and poses, and comedic timing remind me of Gintama. |

| New to the club. I'm always interested in obscure/forgotten manga. Here's a recommendation. Chijou Saikyou no Otoko Ryuu was a short lived action manga from the late 70s put together by Shinobu Kaze and Dynamic Pro. It's a wild ride, and I think the art speaks to that sentiment. | Psychic Academy Oura Bansho Seems like a regular magical romance action manga but took a turn last volume or two. Kind of unexpected ending, too. I think it deserves more publicity. |

| Yaiteru Futari (A Rare Marriage: How to Grill Our Love) Fair warning, this manga might make you hungry! Kenta Fukuyama and Chihiro Yamaguchi are in their 30's, tired of being alone, though both of them are awkward at relationships in their own way. Still, they meet each other on a dating app and go on a BBQ dinner date. Needless to say they hit it off, and thus begins a series of fluffy wholesome marriage life fueled by Kenta's passion for delicious BBQ. Food has never tasted better when shared with someone you love. If you enjoy cooking or wanna start somewhere, you'll want to give their recipes a try! |
