There hasn't been a single customer that has came to the store. Also I've notice that anywhere the characters go to, there are no random characters walking around. This kinds of take away the realism feel to it. Nothing too serious though, it just kinda bugs me when I notice it.

Dunno whether the studio is lazy or the manga is like that aswell, but yeah it's weird how there is not a single person around...no wonder the shop isn't doing well.

You need to pay more attention. In the 1st episode we're presented with 2 kids trying to reach the candies when Kokonotsu was saying that most of the customers are kids. Also, where did that kid from episode 2 get his winner stick from if he didn't buy the ice?

Depopulation. Everyone in rural area of japan are coming in drove to big cities IRL especially young people. Heck, some village are only filled with old people who should take a pension.

Probably they don't care about the people passing by, like in Monogatari. The anime it's based in their points of view. I always thought this was an interesting idea, it's different and unique.
