So apperantly on Sunday some guy in my school killed himself and well to be honest I just don't care, I talked to him a few times and not really anymore after he left my class. I can admit its unfortunate and noone knows why he did it (too soon to know) but yeah a couple of teachers cried and student were upset.
As for me I could only find humour in the situation, it just couldn't make me cry.

So does anyone feel like this when tragedy occurs or are you always hit?

I've not felt any emotion to some similar things that's happened in my life.

It depends why it happens. If he did it because he was bullied I imagine it must be tense around school for a while.

Who doesn't? It's silly to pretend to care about the deaths of people you don't know.

I think calling that situation of yours sociopathic is way overboard.

I mean, you don't even know the guy well so what are you supposed to feel?
Forcing yourself to push some emotions out is stranger.

Oh I don't think I'm a sociopath, I just needed to figure out how to get this out while keeping it a topical thread to avoid getting locked.

Not really, but there's a sorta odd memory from my childhood that I think about from time to time. It was later at night on Christmas and my dad sat me and my brothers down to tell us my grandpa had died. I remember when he first told us I impulsively smiled. So I clung onto him to hide my face and pretended to cry. I'm still not sure why it made me smile, I image little me probably just didn't know how to handle it. I haven't experience any other close human death so I'm not sure if I'd react the same way or not.

I've never felt much empathy towards people. I always remember when the december tsunami incident in Thailand happened, and how my "friend" in middle school complained how I can be so cold when I didn't give a shit about all those hundreds of thousands of people who died :D Same with the Paris terrorist attack. I don't give a fock.

That's happened to me to, my first reaction was to laugh when I heard the news at the absurdity that no-one ever died in our school cep this year and this guy was the second. I suppose people deal with tragedy in different ways.

Why worry about people you don't really care for, its pointless. Are you suppose to cry and feel sad for the millions of people who die every year.

I'm the opposite of a sociopath to the point where it's hard for me to watch just about anything with violence because I'm too sensitive.

Nothing abnormal about that.
The truly scary part about Sociopath is that they lack any remorse.
There are cases where children steal from their parents or poison them simply to get inheritance and they simply don't care.
Doing something like hitting someone or killing someone is akin to logging onto Facebook and reading posts.
People that are truly Sociopath's have to LEARN what is wrong because they don't feel remorse.
So no OP , you are quite normal.

If I was close to the person dying then I would care. Like when my brother died, of course, I was sad. For random people or people I'm not close to, I typically don't care what happens to them. I was told that I was emotionally distant. My "problem" is that I don't care.

I'm not sure what's so humorous in suicide at all.

It depends.. If it's someone I knew I would be at least upset.
But no matter what reason, suicide is anything but humorous.

I feel pretty similarly actually. I wouldn't say it's sociopathy and more about not caring. If someone close to me died I would be very upset over it. If some stranger or acquaintance died I wouldn't really care. It would be unfortunate and I would pay my respects but that's it. If the person died from a pretty stupid thing like choking on a condom or falling down the grand canyon trying to take the perfect selfie I would even go so far as finding it amusing and believe that they deserve their death.

Even if I only spoke to that person one time, if I hear that they died, it always hurts me. Just thinking about how they have aspirations and passions just like myself makes me empathize.

I've always seen suicide as ridiculous, there's a dark humour in the idea of a person going as far as taking their own life for a problem which can be dealt with through time and is temporary. I wont mock their death but I think its absurd.

The idea of suicide is absurd indeed (except cases where your life is a physical misery)
But still I would not make fun of some emotional / desperate types. I just pity those.

Most definitely. I masturbated at the reception to my grandfather's funeral a few months ago out of sheer boredom.

There's a lady who's sure
All that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
When she gets there she knows
If the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for
Oh oh oh oh and she's buying a stairway to heaven

I cry for people who haven't died yet and then I wait for them to die, they don't die for years and are still alive
I don't know why I cried in the first place, maybe because people kept telling me they'd die =_=
Tch!
