I'm beginning to think I apologize too much on here, I've sent about 2-3 apology PMs/week since the beginning of October, not even counting the amount of times I apologize in thread posts. I also have this issue IRL. I find that apologizing has become almost like a habit, to be fair if I send a PM then I actually am sincerely sorry.

Do you think you apologize too much?
What do you typically apologize for?
Do you typically apologize to one gender more than the other?
Are you actually sorry or is it just habit?

He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; In proportion as he simplifies his life, the laws of the universe will appear less complex, and solitude will not be solitude, nor poverty poverty, nor weakness weakness." - Henry David Thoreau

I thought your apologies were ironic lol. I only apologize when I actually think I've done something wrong or when I underperform in a team game.

Love this song! I think it depends on what you're apologising about. If it's appropriate to do so, then it's really good that you do. But if you get a bad concience for stuff you don't deserve to, then it sounds like a lot of unnecessary stress on you.

We here in Britain are apologising for other people stepping on our toes, so we're basically always apologising for our very existence.
So I don't think you apologise too much, in comparison at least.

Do you think you apologize too much?
Yup.

What do you typically apologize for?
Nothing that I can specifically think of

Do you typically apologize to one gender more than the other?
I can't even remember the last time I apologized to a dude

Are you actually sorry or is it just habit?
Depends who it is. The better I know you more likely they're genuine. If I don't know you well they're often cautionary apologizes for the chance that I've offended you unintentionally.

One time I cut in front of this mentally and physically disabled girl on a wheelchair walking out the door of the highschool and some girl was like "AY, HOW COULD YOU DO SOMETHIN LIKE THAT" and I just kept walking and realized too late that an apology would probably have been appropriate. I'm a fucking asshole is what I'm saying.

Ok, let's be real here. WHO in the mother of god apologizes online? You don't even know that person..Unless I know that person, I will never ever apologize. Except in public though..I apologize to random people all the time whenever I hit them or something.

I apologize a lot, I apologize so much it kind of has become a reflex. I have to admit, my apologies are rarely sincere, they're only sincere if I took the time to properly apologize. I often apologize for things that aren't even my fault, I don't even mean what I say, but I kind of say it without thinking.

Example:

Guy bumps into me during gymnastics.
Me: 'Oh, pardon me.'
Him: Oh sorry omg.

Even though the guy bumping into me was at fault here, I still apologized without thinking.

Only when necessary and/or out of politeness.
However it also depends on my mood.

DisdainMatto said:

Inconsiderate behaviour, most of the time.

DisdainMatto said:

It's absolutely irrelevant.

DisdainMatto said:

Yes if I'm feeling guilty,
No if out of politeness.

I don't apologize very often.
The only times I ever apologize is if I do something significantly wrong towards my partner (like make mean remarks during my period) or I accidentally bump into someone in public.

However you should change yours to Stanley Kubrick first.

I'm more of a David Lynch fan myself. I would have an avatar with him and his pet rooster, if only I wasn't too lazy to change my current forum set.

When I think about it, I don't really apologize much at all. I mostly do it to people that are close to me, because I genuinely feel sorry if I've done something bad. When it comes to randoms and acquaintances, I don't really do it, unless I've fucked up big time. I'm certainly not going to apologize over trivial stuff.

Apologies lose their weight if they're used in excessively.

Ive apologized for that exact thing, hell I've apologized for not telling somebody that somebody else is going to bump into them.

Not everytime I do apologise to others, even they are my close friends. It's not I like to be a coldhearted person, I feel it's not right to apologise everything which you fucked up, because it's not necessarily your fault.
