toxic fanbase is everywhere no matter what fanbase is. and more popular = more toxic people. that's just how is it. just like any big thing on western before. sure they are overrated in beginning because original source, just like any series. but if you said same reason even after it finished, it's totaly not related anymore.

For the fans to make sure that it was something like 5 to 1 against instead of only being a little better than even. Certainly makes me even more secure in my "Yes" vote. I'm not a lone voice in a sea of OPM fanboys. :P

2 episodes of greatness can't save 10 episodes of mediocrity. And the last 2 were mediocre as well, though better than the rest I guess. It's far from being a bad show, but it was incredibly overhyped from the start, just like Erased, except OPM doesn't take itself seriously, which benefits against criticism. There is basically no story, the humor is hit or miss (90% miss for myself), but it's still fun to watch.

I'm incredibly conflicted about OPM, since I'm really not sure whether I liked it or not.

What counts as overrated?

Is One Punch Man a bad show? Nope. It's a fun, gag comedy with good action. It's good at what it wanted to accomplish.

Does it deserve to be in Top 20? Hell no. It doesn't deserve to be anywhere near top 100. It's just another seasonal anime getting unreasonable hype.

Based on the MAL rating here, yes OPM is overrated. Extremely overrated. It's rating shouldn't be above 8. It's a fun show, not a masterpiece.
