| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Holy moly, things are really starting to get different from the anime. Volume 1 was pretty faithfully adapted in the anime but in Volume 2, after Touma and Stiyl meet "Izzard", things go A LOT different. For instance, in the LN Stiyl confronts Aureolus alone first, which results in a lot of corpses. Also, it seems in the LN, there is a fake (fakes?) Aureolus. His fighting style is completely different from the Izzard from the anime as he is using magic called "Limen Magna". He shoots a chained arrow from his sleeve and anything it comes in contact with, literally transmutes into molten gold (thus killing students that had been placed on the other side of the coin due to the Chant). I love how after Stiyl's meet with the so called fake Aureolus, he is translated as Aureolus Dummy (at least in the translation I'm reading). Also the chapter ends with Stiyl killing the Dummy, we'll see if there are more fakes or if it was just the one for now! I guess the anime adaptation is different due to the really brutal LN material, it would've probably had to been censored a lot if they stuck with the LN version. Really interested to see how Volume 2 ends now. |
