Just today, I was gift shopping for my 10-yo niece. I still have no idea what kind of stuff she'd like, only that her favorite color is purple. While wandering up and down the toy aisle like a lost puppy for some time, it hit me:

"What would Sakura Kinomoto like?"

I immediately chose a purple plush bunny.

Yo if I never watched anime I'd be a sassy bitch right now, watching/reading Twilight and 50 Shades of Grey.

I started a conversation with a Japanese woman before about their advanced toilets. I wouldn't have known if I didn't watch animu.

It was rather comical.

In anime world there is a degree of acceptance of the none social norm and in such Ive been able to accept who I am a little better. If it wasn't for the male characters dressed as cute maids or the characters from Persona facing up to their real inner selves and accepting that part of themselves I would have probably never have admitted to myself that im Bi-gender and that its ok.

In other ways there's no other media that can make me laugh like comedy anime, its one of the few things I find actually funny and feel good. It also has some good life lessons hidden within some series.

It's helped me become the sublime person I am today... Just kidding.

Ever since I've started watching anime my life's just gotten even more pathetic and shameful

It took my grades, my free time, my other hobbies, and my money.

Anime has given me nothing. It has only taken from me.
It's the most abusive and one-sided relationship I've ever had.
I'm dead. Don't come looking for me.

It, uh.... It's like experiencing socialising without needing to socialise.

Some series I don't want to say "remind" me not to give up or lose hope when I'm about ready to on a certain goal... but they do encourage me in a way. Chihayafuru did a couple weeks ago when I was starting to get really down. She just kept losing, then would cry for a second, brush it off, and keep going. I know it's just animation, but it's still inspirational :)
