WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST THIS SEASON? a long holiday at the end of december where i can finally take a break and chill at home ; u ;2. HOW DID YOU DECIDE ON THE THEME FOR THIS MONTH'S LAYOUT? hmmm... first of all, we already have two consecutive layouts of bishounen so i figured that it's time for a bishoujo to shine! i just got into azur lane cause the english server just released 2 months ago and i got real addicted to it. i wanted to try scrapbook layout back then and i thought the school uniform outfit would go well with the theme. 3. WHO/WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN ESPECIALLY THANKFUL FOR LATELY? ;)) all my precious friends i've met here (you know who you are :megusta:)not only they're my inspiration to continue gfx activity, they gave me so much memorable moments to cherish especially the gossips. oh well, i don't wanna get too emotional so *clears throat* next question... 4.  🏮Introduction🏮 Welcome back, MAL, and welcome back, dear Shiruba Festival members! The break was long and hard, but we pushed through, didn't we? Never fear, Shiruba Festival is starting back up now that MAL is back. \o/ 🏮Staff & Recruitment🏮 If you ever feel like you want to help out with some aspect of the club, go investigate our Staff Recruitment thread to see what's available! We lost a big part of our staff team due to the break, so there are positions of all sorts open~ ;) Here we have another interview from one of our precious staff members: Hello lost spirits! It's nice to be back isn't it? Who am I? My name is Venelia and I used to work for Shiruba but left due to circumstances but now I am back! Let me begin with a small introduction about me. I am Brii and I have hobbies such as gfx editing, writing, roleplaying, sleeping and reading. I am a pretty introverted person but I am kind to others if you can get over my shyness and my bite first LOL My interests include: kpop, anime, idol hell, asian dramas and video games. I am also a senior at my college university and I study Creative Writing for it has always been my dream to be an author. Nice to meet you all! Lots of events have happened since MAL was down and Shiruba has been inactive but as a treat for me being reinstated as staff, I updated the club layout and I look forward to helping our ojou-sama bring Shiruba to new heights!  This is a one-time only Newsletter sent out to every club members. Future newsletters will only be for subscribers, which you can subscribe here. Yeah, we don't do it newsletter much but it doesn't mean we don't do it at all. Written by Renkurana Club News The club is officially "re-open" with the club wipe finished (was a long process). Granted, there's not much changes happening for now, especially with my free time schedule being limited. But me and the staff are doing what we can to take this club into a new direction, w/e the hell that is. So what direction of this club is heading towards? We have talked about the theme of the club. It started off as a Touhou & Youkai theme. But for those that have been around long enough, that changed to just a regular general club. Except for last year that was dominated by Kantai Collection. Of course, I'm not opposed to having a new theme for the club although the club name's will remain the same. Regardless if we have a new theme or not, we'll still have plenty of "regular" things. But this essentially takes the club back to its old roots, where it was planned to be a small club, and not the club that had 2000+ members. Obviously, it's gonna grow but I would prefer a slow growth compared to the fast paced we had back in 2013. ---------------------------------------- However, as some of you have seen in the past few years, a lot of the stuff done in the club has been done by myself. Sometimes I get help from the staff. But at this point, it's gonna be tough to repeat that due to RL. So, once again, the staff recruitment is open. You can visit the thread here. Feel free to apply for w/e positions you think will help the club out. However, the only 2 positions you cannot apply for is Deliverer and Inviter. Other than that, everything else is open. Card makers is always welcome c: Do not apply if you plan to go inactive after a few months. There's no point in joining if you plan on being too busy to do help in the future. If you're busy but still can throw in cards for an edition or 2, then that's fine. Otherwise, apply AFTER you know you have enough free time to help us out. I'm better off with 1, 2 active staff than with 10 inactive staff in running the club. ---------------------------------------- We do have a Club Discord that can be found through here. Of course, we won't be active on it all the time, especially myself. But feel free to use it to talk to us or the other members. Granted, the later could be done on other discord servers or other ways. But, the club discord's there for those that are interested. Or if you forgot about it. ---------------------------------------- I do want to mention that while some of you may have suggestions that would help this club, especially right now, keep in mind that we're not free 24/7. For example, a new layout would be great but me and the active staff don't have the free time to do so. And in my case, not skilled enough to do so. Same with events. They're time-consuming so we can only do them if we have the time to do so. Of course, having more staff members would make it easier to do but, not getting any new staff doesn't stop us from getting things done; it's just a slower process. ---------------------------------------- I don't know whether this club wipe will actually help this club at all. However, I have nothing to do. This club has been open and active for 5 years, longer than most club. If I close down the club right now, it's still a successful 5 years. I know that I originally wanted to close down the club earlier this year. But there's still lots of things for me to do. I've got editions of characters and themes I want to do. And there's some of you that enjoys what this club has to offer. Obviously, I'll have to call it quits one day but hopefully, I can get as much help (and motivation & willpower) as I can to delay that for as long as I can. Anyways, those of you that are still around, I hope at least a good amount of you still to continue to enjoy what the club has, besides the free stuff. I know I still am. |

Name's Kuro, 17 y/o, i'm a mod at Shiruba's Festival yey~! Usually i spend my free time listening to music while awfully singing, gaming, watching anime/series (my favourite genres are fantasy, magic and adventure!) and drawing (really bad)! "Honestly at the time, being the big japanese games addict I am, i noticed the beautiful Persona 5 layout, and it got me really interested in the club. And now im glad i was able to join and meet new people." How are you liking the club so far? "Love it! The people are nice, and i really love the themes. It’s really relaxing." What made you get into graphic design? "Honestly, i’m not sure. I just know at the time Ethereal Realm was looking for card designers in 2015, so i decided to give it a shot. And now here I am!" What made you want to join MAL? "What makes any anime fan join MAL. mainly to keep track of anime, but later on i noticed a newsletter delivery on a friends profile, so i explored the world of MAL clubs." Hello, Chian, I am honored that you chose me for this interview. How did you discovered Ashes of Our Chaos ? Lume invited me when she opened the club. And I like joining new clubs and helping them grow. What do you think of the club ? I think it's very good. I like being here, I like staff, because they are all like a family, even tough I'am not that active. What got you into anime and why did you join MAL ? Well, I think my best friend in real life is the reason I started watching anime. Actually, I was watching anime when I was younger, but I did not know it was called anime. My best friend and I where watching Bleach because it was airing on TV,but they did not show the whole series. So, he had to finish Bleach and he did he would not stop talking about that. He was, like it was best thing I ever watched and he repeated it daily. And I started watching Bleach and I really liked it. Then when I finished it I needed more. So, I started watching Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto... I first joined MAL 'cause i wanted to track down anime I watched and manga I read. Then slowly I started joining clubs, and talking to people all round MAL world. And now, the last question... What is your favorite and least favorite anime and manga? And why ? My favorite anime is Shigatsu Wa Kimi No Uso and my favorite manga is Kuroshitsuji. Shigatsu Wa Kimi No Uso is my favorite 'cause I love the story, I love the art, I love music and I LOVE everything about it. And for Kuroshitsuji i like the art style the most. Every single character is HOT af, then I like story and all supernatural things in it. My least favorite anime is Hellsing. I do not have least favorite manga. Hellsing was boring for me to watch and that's why it's my least favorite anime. That's all for this month, see you in May ! |

So far, the new year has been a great one for our club; we are seeing lots growth, as well as lots of new members joining us (^_^). We hope that all of you will have a good time as we try to make the club as fun as possible for everyone :3! 🏮Staff & Recruitment🏮 We’re always searching for new people to join our club’s staff~ If you want to help out with club work and duties, don’t forget to sign up in the Recruitment Thread! We’re searching for people who want to: create fun games for everyone, make beautiful cards and layouts, as well as those of you who want to invite new members and affiliates :3! We’d also like to give thanks to our current staff members for all the hard work they put in for this club, and we hope their efforts paid off (We <3 you Shirubā Festival staff!) ^^. Just like in previous newsletters, we will be introducing one of our staff members; this time around, it will be Chessiness, who will introduce herself: “Yahallo, here’s your mysterious admin Chessiness. I'm surprised this didn't start with a pun. THE NAME CHANGE IS WORKING! Why did you join Ashes of Our Chaos ? Well, I don't think too hard on things when I feel like doing them... There's a variety of reasons, and the name of the club is one of them. Then there's the fact that the club leader is a very approachable person, and was very polite when inviting me to work here, so I had a hunch that it would be a comfortable club in general. And boy, I was right on the money, huh? Do you have suggestions for Ashes of Our Chaos ? Well more Love Live editions I'm not the most creative person to be honest, so I have no idea... The club is organized enough and has a nice atmosphere, so maybe some more events? I'm afraid I can't expand on those though since like I mentioned earlier, I lack the creativity :ded: What would you say if you wanted to convince someone to apply to be a staff here ? It has some Persona vibes going on, why don't you join? Well, the staff team is welcoming and the creator is very understanding and approachable, so I'd say that works as persuasion. As for cardmakers and GFXers, I'd tell them about how interesting the monthly editions tend to be, which are picked at random from all the awesome suggestions from the staff team and members. Since you did the layout, was it hard to make ? Also why do you like Persona that much ? Well, I'll start talking about the layout. Finding resources on P5 isn't that hard since it was a huge hit, so that certainly made my life easier. From the start I had something with the original color scheme of the game in mind, but I decided to go beyond and try to make it ressemble the menus and typography styles - the overall feel of the game, basically. (Including the Morgana welcoming visitors LOL) Now, about why I like Persona... In a nutshell, it's impressive that a game can combine daily life and battle RPG elements, with an entertaining battle system to boot, so harmoniously. The stories get me hooked and the gameplay never gets boring, it always feels refreshing to me. Interesting characters, AMAZING soundtrack, one of the most entertaining battle systems I've ever seen coming from a turn-based JRPG and superb stories. I like games from the Shin Megami Tensei franchise in general though, my personal favorites being Persona 3 and SMT: Nocturne. Man, the soundtracks... THE SOUNDTRACKS Now a little personal question, I'm sure everyone wants to know the answer... Persona or Fire Emblem ? Do you happen to have a sadistic streak? R.I.P. me In general, it's Persona. Like I said before, the mix of daily life elements and RPG is very appealing to me. But it's quite early to say since I still didn't play that many Fire Emblem games, but I can say for sure that it'll probably make it to my favorites, too. The games are all very entertaining and manage to get me hooked into the story and strategical gameplay. Not to mention all the wonderful characters! My current obsession would have to be Fire Emblem though. I've been kicked into the FE Heroes gacha hell and can't get out That's all for this month, see you in March ! |

Club News The new year is here and that usually means new things right? Not for this club. I'm still working mostly solo as I've done all of 2017. Unless I get new staff members, ones that are actually 100% active, the same things will occur as usual. But almost everything is back up now. Stuff like Loyalty Cards, claims, past editions, w/e I shut down in December. Now that the holidays are winding down, not much reasons to go out other than the occasional hangouts and parties like birthdays and such. It is also 4 months before the club's 5th anniversary. There won't be much going on but there will be some stuff going on. Of course, everything will naturally depend on what happens IRL. But that's 4 months away. Expect less activities since I prefer to do other things first like games. Plus, it is my club so I get to decide my own schedule. But there'll still be some things happening although this time, I'm putting less effort.  If you want to unsubscribe, contact me. |

I was in a lot of club, like I still am today, and was really impressed on how they were doing. Challenges, editions, games.. I was like " How can they manage to do all that ? And that good ? " And so I had the idea to create my own club. I thought about it, about how I wanted it to be, if it was possible to handle having my own club irl, and, yeah, I finally created a month later. Why did you choose this name ? How did you find it ? Honestly, I just wanted a badass name. I searched a lot before I found this one, I noted every ideas I had and I think a bunch of them were good like " Chaos of the World " , " Ashes " , " The Empire of Ashes ". But the last one reminded me too much of Empirical Empire, and once I found Ashes of our Chaos, it seemed just better than the other ones so I chose it. What to you have in mind for this club ? What do you see in the future ? Truly, I just want people to enjoye the editions, the games the challenges and the events of course, the staff to feel happy, maybe proud ?, to be a part of this club. I don't see any particular things in fact, I just want people to enjoy being a member or a staff in the club, and I'll do my best for it. Why a Persona themed layout ? Actually, I have to be sincere.. I never played any Persona games. YEAH SHAME ON ME I'M SORRY But I had a pretty little nice chat with Yuokami, an awesome layout maker in the staff ♥, about games and he convinced me to buy one of the Persona games one day, and since I asked him to create the very first layout, I proposed Persona 5.
