Music, initial premise, and the ending of the series are all I can remember liking about this series.

This may be the best representation of interpersonal relationships and internal conflict put to the screen. The scenes are handled with such artistry in both the visuals and audio that time evaporates while I watch it.

Very adorable adolescent confusion on display that constantly hinders the main relationship, while still driving the relationship forward somehow.

The visuals are, at times, quite impressive. During those times the colour pallet is very striking. Well I can't defend the narrative, the parent being given unlimited power via their connection with their child is a neat theme.

A visually stunning piece of art that constantly improves with each re-watch. There is an unexpected amount of symbolic depth to each of the characters that I missed on earlier viewings.

The first 7 episodes are some of the best Anime has to offer. Everything past that point, while philosophically interesting, was presented in too dry of a tone compared to the earlier portions the series. I like dry content, but not after a thrill ride.

The characters, dialogue, music, visuals, and overall style have their claws in me like nothing else I've experienced. Every moment of this series I sit here transfixed upon it.

The first Anime I ever watched. I liked it enough that I convinced my parents to buy me a Sailor Moon lunch kit, which they refused to let me take to school. It spent the rest of its existence as storage for batteries.

Creative and visually repulsive film. The visuals are the strongest part of this, many of which are sickening in unexpected ways, with the story based off a tragic folk tale, I believe. To understand the film would probably take a repeat viewing.

Very bizarre film. While there's a lot there that doesn't work for me, there's so much happening that it's never boring. The main narrative is easy to follow, but all the cutaways are often baffling.

About human propensity to obsess over the unobtainable, the perfect, and how that obsession can blind us to what we have in-front of us. I wonder if the writer considers themselves a pedophile, and finds that a horrific and torturous existence.

Episode 1 - 7, 2 - 7.5, 3 - 8. The series kept improving in it's approach to story telling as it went on. Very solid OVA.

I loved this show, I only just found out this was an Anime through MAL. It's a very cool cyberpunk show.

Nothing remarkable about the series, beyond it's initial conciet and character designs(and Kurumi).

I'm a sucker for the character designs. Kurumi steals the show again when she shows up. One scene here was so bad I was cackling, goofiness levels are rising.

I like the premise, it got me. However, it felt so generic in how it delivered its story past the initial hook I lost most of my interest.

The show itself was stellar and I remember both enjoying it, and being horrified by the way some of the characters ended up. However, after about a year since I watched it, unlike other shows I'm hard pressed to look back upon much of it overly fondly. Therefore, until I re-watch it, I feel a 7 seems fair.

They made Broly into a sympathetic character with some depth, which was pretty refreshing. The action looks great and the art/animation quality skyrockets during the main fight. The 3D looked pretty decent overall.

A younger me enjoyed this for obvious reasons. I would be ashamed, but that's far too hilarious to feel any shame over this.

Opening blew my mind when I first watched it. I can still remember much of it. I Remember not really enjoying the rest in any meaningful way.

It sure was pretty to look at when it first dropped. The story and everything else was pretty terrible.

Fun romp of a action-comedy mecha series. Very good comedic chemistry between the two leads.

This is probably my most re-watched series. I always thoroughly enjoy the way the minor horror elements are presented. The character dynamics always worked for me. Been a long while since I last watched it.

Watching this is just like reading a history book. The characters are larger than life in the exact same way as real life historical figures. The scale is immense. The music gives it a very epic tone. Was my favorite series until 2020.

Ridiculously imaginative science fantasy setting. This was a visual treat. While its main theme is that of growing up, and accepting it, it's bursting with so many different themes related to it, even during the simplest moments.

Has some legitimately interesting ideas and a few decent visuals, but the lack of audio in some key segments really drags down the experience. It could have been a lot more if it spent the slower pace building up the atmosphere.

Very interesting deep drive further into Ainu culture. Good expansion on some of the core characters. Though not as engaging as the last season overall. Does still have some amazing individual episodes within it.

An unfocused film, that only has goal, show Golgo 13 as the ultimate badass. While it does show him off well, often through impactful action/chase scenes, it tends to stumble a lot along the way.

The infamous clip you'll see on the net of this series is pretty much the reason teenage me watched this series. I'm pretty sure that's where my eyes were at least.

Amusing over the top action, filled with some classic one liners. It's neat to check out all the things this property influenced. The film often doesn't like to spend the time to build up tension, and instead just jumps to the fight.

Very pulpy sci-fi mystery series. There's clearly a lot of cut content, tons of character moments that have little to no setup. With the added depth it could have been a more impressive series. With what's here, it's a pleasant pulpy ride.

The concept of heroes from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms era inhabiting the bodies of teen warriors is cool as hell. Not too much else here for me sadly.

Very good embodiment of "team-spirit." The characters, particularly the side characters, all fall flat for me. Decent tension at times, but overall kind of lackluster.

Exceptional slow burn mystery with some significant psychological elements to it. The depiction of PTSD and the internal conflict within the MC is very striking. The symbolism used here is simple, and it lays its cards a bit early, but its damn effective.

The visual language it uses is far more graphic and expressive than anything else I've seen. It is a celebration of sex, and sexual liberation, while simultaneously unafraid to show the horrors of a loss of sexual freedom. It is a very empowering tragedy.

First anime that really messed me up when I first saw it all the way through. The action is amazing and its characters are very compelling.

Probably about as fun as the Gundam franchise will ever be. I enjoy the serious elements of the franchise, but this completely won me over. If you ever plan for a drunken Anime night with friends, watch this there.

A very intimate Gundam tale, that I honestly need to re-watch. Like 08th, I really liked the smaller scale of the series. The time spent with the characters makes the conflict very impactful.

I really enjoyed the consequences of Mobile Suits as weapons of war presented in the earlier parts of the film.

I rented this as a VHS from Rogers Video and it introduced me to the UC Timeline. I will always remember this fondly.

When this aired a younger me really had a thing for Flay. I saw her as manipulative and awful in every conceivable way, though I sympathized with her grief. In retrospect she's far more complex than I realized back then.

By far the best thing to come out of the Cosmic Era Timeline.

Perfect encapsulation of everything I love about the Gundam franchise. Fully embodies the concept of "War is Hell." Stellar choice/use of music. Excellent meaningless tragedy.

For the longest time this was my favorite Gundam series. I really like the smaller scale of the events here. What combat occurs here feels far more impactful than most other's of the franchise.

Really pleasant capstone to a very enjoyable series. The way the episode is structured sockets it perfectly as a nostalgic look back at the series proper.

Visually stunning, even by today's standards. Really love the gritty feel of it and the apathetic professional nature of the characters. What it has to say about where the self begins and ends, and if it ends at all, is very compelling.

Very tight Tolkien-esqe fantasy series that wastes little time moving the plot forward. The art, especially the backgrounds & characters, is very well done. The first episode is a good example of how to show the viewer who your characters are.

Perfectly executed. This series is designed to be re-watched and I love it. The amount of depth each scene has is insane. The characters are given just enough complexity for the story to grip you. The music and visuals are utterly fantastic.

Gorgeous looking series. Very Smooth animation in that OP. Really enjoyed the early episodes, but I found the series didn't do enough to develop their characters for me to become interested in them.

Very cool visuals/effects. Really like the contrasting colours. A hero's journey whose thesis seems to be that for hope to prevail it requires equal parts of righteousness/justice and compassion/kindness.

Gorgeous imagery and animation. The audio is great throughout. Labyrinth Labyrinthos I found the most enthralling of the three. Its tale about allowing your wonder and acceptance of others to drive you forward I found very touching.

The comedic tone this series presents works for me. I like the notion that all this ridiculousness is going on and it's totally played straight.

Comedy constantly jumps between subverting and exceeding my expectations. I love all the little touches in character expressions. MC is now my favorite psychopath in Anime.

Excellent Short Films. While I found the third the most captivating and the second had themes that I found very relatable, I definitely love the first best. The art for all of them is stellar, the third one's art style had by far the most character.

Spectacular finale. Great OST. Its commentary on classism, racism and immigration are a little on the nose. Its questions of whether artificial life differs from biological is quite interesting.

Mob is beautiful. The amount of character growth he's had and the change in my perception of the other cast members has been amazing to experience. The creativity of the visuals and fluidity of animation are off the charts.

Elevates the characters of the series to new heights, the extent of which I have never experienced with any other series. The amount of psychological depth the characters have leaves me in awe. This season is what made Monogatari my favourite series.

Has an interesting conceit. I enjoy some of the mystery elements. None of the characters do anything for me, but it has enough interesting elements to keep my attention.

The series looks pretty beautiful. The MC's trauma dictating his current proclivities is handled surprisingly well, even if he falls well within normal tropes at times. Seeing Roxy outside of her Solo Manga series was neat.

Very imaginative short-film about the futility of holding onto those you've lost. The interesting visual elements and sound design to do a lot to push the film forward, and it never becomes stale for a second.

So beautiful in the art, animation and music, that when the end credits rolled I was so overwhelmed by the experience it broke me to tears. The story is very touching, and despite its fantastical elements, it's very grounded in reality.

Really enjoy the chemistry between the romantic leads. The series approach to early-modern era economics is very intriguing, I love it. The OP for this season is excellent.

The first romance series I ever realized I self inserted into. There's a three episode arc that made it painfully clear that it happened. I feel the character development improved quite a bit this season.

Clearly thought out setting. The thesis of the film seems to be that, "humanity will always make the world around them a bleak and terrible place, despite that, and the fact that it may never change, try to improve the world humanity lives in."

Everything centred around Ougi in this season is utterly amazing. The way she takes control of a scene from anyone else on screen, and the imagery used to amplify her presence, fits her theme so well and is delightful to witness.

An unrivalled cerebral experience. I've never been more terrified than I am while watching this movie. The editing causes you to feel like you yourself are suffering from the same condition as the character.

My definition of B-flick so bad it's good Anime. I could not stop watching it, the worse it got the more I was engaged. Frankly though, it's not a good watch.

I really enjoyed the character designs of this series. This was a very comfy fantasy slice of life comedy. Its focus on food was a big draw for me.

Fully embraces its own insanity without a moment's hesitation. Extremely well animated and very rarely not in motion, often pushing the limits of what the eye can handle. A celebration of colour and motion taken to the extreme.

Requires a re-watch.

I lack the artistic stomach to digest this at a glance. I'll need to re-watch it several more times before I can concretely layout my feelings on this. It looks and feels very interesting. It absolutely has my full attention.

The amount of character that the animation has in this film is insane. The story itself isn't much, and ends in a way I found unsatisfying, but it's heavily propped up by all the visual/audio elements of this film.

My favourite Shounen series while I was growing up. I really enjoyed its mix of comedy and serious combat moments. The MC's focus on trying to keep things non-lethal made him really endearing to a younger me.

Wonderful, and visually beautiful, tragedy. The fights are very well paced and each sword swing is immensely impactful. This prequel completely exceed its parent work. Tomoe's arc is the strongest part of the OVA.

Initially quite a departure from the first film, and that does a lot to pull me in. It ends up re-treading a lot of the same themes that the last film resolved. Looks gorgeous and has a great score. Still enjoy spending time in this setting.
