Kaichou wa Maid-sama!

In every scene, I am so much excited to watch it..
What will Usui next move to Misaki, how will he able to protect her and how will he make sweet moves.

What I loved about the story, it is not boring at all times because I love the character of Usui he is really an ideal guy. Whoo! I can’t wait to have a season 2 of it. Promise…!!!!!

I will not tell more, just watch it and enjoy!!

this anime is definitely adorable. its an exciting love drama thats super fun to watch. not your average main character-- shes a strong girl that can do for herself, and the guys are super hott. the story is cute-- nothing amazing but even so you find yourself getting really into it. sometimes even if the story is only mediocre the anime can be great and thats exactly what this anime is. DEFINITELY watch it, you'll love it!

I really enjoed watching this anime. It is an anime about love and things along those lines, but I think this anime could be good for both girls and guys. The main female character can be masuline in many ways, but we get to see her cute side when the other male lead comes in. It was really funny and I could see how well thought out the anime was. The voice actors did a really good job and I would love to see it come out in English Dub. Although at the end it did lead me to want more, but the manga did ... carry the story farther, so I had to stick with that.

Overall it was a really good anime that I would recommend to a lot of people. I would give it a 9/10.

I was really excited to watch this. usually, i watch shounen or less romantic animes but i was in the mood for it so i decided to check it out. Ultimately, i was actually really disappointed by this anime. It started off good, I liked the fact that the main female lead had a proper backbone and wasnt a typical aloof, soft hearted girl who was constantly needing to be saved. those drive me crazy.
HOWEVER, after a while it felt like character development really ceased. their relationship hardly moved, there was little growth in how they interacted with eachother. The anime reaaally started to lag ... after the first few episodes, it didnt have a proper storyline. The ending was good, but overall i wouldnt recommend this if you wanna get butterflies watching something cute. :)

I was put off from Kaichou wa Maid-sama! on the first episode, the premise seemed stupid and the characters weren't worth sticking around for. Nevertheless I gave Kaichou wa Maid-sama! another go and my opinion drastically changed.

Story: This was the main issue I had with this anime, the story was non-existent and transparent but it worked out okay because the anime focused on all out cliche enjoyment, and being the target audience, a lonely teenage girl, it worked.

Art: The art was, in summary, close ups, dramatic romantic scenes and grey blobs. The simplicity added to the emphasis on comedy and made the anime more ... light and fun. and Usui just kept getting hotter. Woo!

Sound: I liked the sound a lot in this anime. The OP was very good and the OST was too.

Character: The amount of side characters was a little overwhelming. It was as if they couldn't choose a main cast to focus on so the creators made it seem like each new person was important just to toss them off without a goodbye. As for our main, i have mixed feelings. There were major issues, such as the lack of development, but Usui was so perfect i almost squealed and Misaki well she reminded me a lot of Hikari from Special A, she wants to be the best at everything (and almost is). She wasn't the most annoying female lead out there but not my favorite.

Enjoyment: And this is were Kaichou wa Maid-sama! hit it home. I enjoyed Kaichou wa Maid-sama! because it's cliche. I wanted to watch something loaded with cheese and that's what i got. Realistically should it have taken 26 episodes for two people to get together? no. But Kaichou wa Maid-sama! made me laugh and smile even if it was at the ridiculousness of their relationship.

Overall: i give Kaichou wa Maid-sama! an 8 because i had fun watching it. Kaichou wa Maid-sama! lacked content but was entertaining in the way it meant to be. I'd recommend giving Kaichou wa Maid-sama! a go, and don't give up on the first episode!

I reviewed this anime because of the many different opinions and i hope mine helps. This anime is controversial because it focuses on enjoyment and never goes deeper than that.

Well this is my first review so it may be bad.

When my friend recommended this anime so my reaction was like ''It seems interesting but maybe another time''. When i finally decided to watch this anime, i was like ''WHY??! Why didn't i watch this earlier??''

The story:
A girl named Misaki Ayuzawa, chairwoman of student council and she is like tomboy...Wait she is a tomboy.
Misaki hates boys because her dad abandoned her and her mother and little sister, not only because of that!! Misaki hate boys also because they stinks and smells so Misaki trained hard to protect girls fom those stinky, smelly boys.
Misaki have a ... boy she really hate most and his name is Usui Takumi, he is also strong and smart like Misaki but he is actually stronger and smarter than Misaki.

Misaki have a part time job and the shop is a maid cafe, Misaki doesn't want anyone knows that she is dressed like a maid because she thinks that boys gonna laugh.
One day after her job was almost finished she was about to throw away trash she meets Usui.
Misaki was like ''Oh shit! Now he knows that i'm dressed like a maid, what's he gonna do??Gonna he tell to everyone that i dressed like a maid and work in a maid cafe?''
Now what's gonna Usui do??

I'm not telling you more about the story, but i recommend you to watch this anime!

I loved this series. True the story line is pretty predictable and the relationships between the characters isnt anything too unique but if youre looking for something nice and light to watch and enjoy romantic comedies this is perfect. Everything I look for when I make a mental check list for what i want to watch in an anime is here.

honestly that is my checklist usually if it has at least 2-3 of those components im down for watching and it has all of ... the above so if you have an interest similar to mine i would highly recommend checking this series out. if youre looking for a more 'symbolic' and 'meaningful' and 'dark' series this is defiantly not for you but still something nice to lighten the mood.

Kaichou wa maid-sama is your rather stereotypical romantic comedy anime. It has a lot of the same tropes you will see in other romcom series.

The comedic scenes are actually quite good. I did laugh quite a few times during this. In that sense it is much better as a comedy than a romance. The main reason being the two leads are not particularly likable.

The story revolves around Usui and Misaki falling in love. Although how Misaki manages to fall for him I really don't know because he is a complete dick. Usui is obnoxious, over confident and controlling. I'm guessing it's supposed to ... be romantic when he saves her countless times but him saying things like "Only I can touch her" just makes him sound like a pervert.

Misaki starts off the series hating men and the main character development she goes through is realising guys are actually okay. But judging by the male characters in this series I'd just end up hating men even more.

Most of the supporting cast are not particularly memorable.The one character that stood out for me was the downtrodden Aoi. It's never fully established whether Aoi is merely interested in cross dressing as a girl, or actually feels like a girl trapped in a boy's body. But either way, the way it is handled is absolutely appalling. All of the characters (except Misaki ) even including Aoi's relatives are completely unsympathetic to his/her situation. They often forcefully try and drag the girlish clothes off them and try and make them act like a "normal" boy. So because of this I lost all sympathy for most of them.

Usui especially looks incredibly bad from this. In one episode where Aoi tries desperately hard to win a contest with Misaki so he/she can wear girls clothes, Usui does his utmost to make them fail. Not only does he not give a shit how Aoi feels, but also the reason he does it is because he doesn't want any other men get close to Misaki. Controlling much?

The art in this anime is actually really lovely, and the opening/ending songs are fairly catchy. There's not that much plot, and the ending is very much open-ended. There's hints regarding Usui's backstory in one of the ending songs but it never gets explained and there's probably little hope for a second season.

This anime can be enjoyed as some lighthearted comedy. But don't expect to like the leads. And I'm guessing whoever wrote this has not a shred of sympathy for the trans community and some seriously outdated views regarding it.

Maids! Maids! Maids! This is the theme for today apparently.

This is show about a hardworking, rather boyish, very much feminist fine young girl who also happens to be the president of the school council… Oh yeah and she works in a maid café… Hmm... This rather juxtaposition oriented main character gives us the basis for what turned out to be quite a fun anime. The anime manages to tell the story of this girl from the perspective of her school life, and then transitions to her afterschool job and regales us with the adventures and mishaps that occur due to this rather odd career choice. ... As you can imagine with these sorts of anime there is also a guy involved… Oh yes people it’s a Romantic Comedy that awaits you.

There aren’t really any major problems with Maid Sama (given the expectations involved here), however the premise is rather touch and go. As I said the plot is based on the life of this girl (Ayuzawa), her school life, her work life and the circumstances revolving around her and the male lead in this anime, Usi. And regardless to the fact that this has been played off beautifully, the idea isn’t exactly original. Anyway, at first this anime starts to sound like a generic boring Romantic Comedy but the way in which this one in particular is executed it rather tantalizing There are some rather interesting, and sometimes hilarious, plot twists and there is a constantly running, very amusing, sub-plot at work as provided by three guys from Ayuzawa and Usi’s school (all entirely centered on their infatuation with Ayuzawa). The comedy elements of this anime are largely based around the reactions of the three afore mentioned guys in regards to Ayuzawa, and mainly Ayuzawa’s reactions to Usi as his continued attempts to woo her go on, despite being turned down at every turn. There is quite a varied range of characters involved here and they all work to provide another amusing aspect to this anime. The characters include people who work at the maid café and people Ayuzawa and Usi know from school. When all these random characters intertwine it usually provides an interesting turn of events, as proven when the plot goes a bit crazy and some rather strange people show up resulting in some of the funniest, and tense, moments in the entire show. The character development is also surprisingly good considering the type of anime at play here, I half expected that the only character development to occur would be to the main leads, but I was wrong (luckily). Throughout the anime the backgrounds and back stories to the various characters involved is explored in a heart-warming way. However, unfortunately, a large amount of characters are left out from this process (I guess beggars can’t be choosers). The worst part of this series so far is also one of the best features, its Ayuzawa herself. She is a funny, amusing, independent character but she can become incredibly aggravating, and at times I found myself shouting at the screen “What are you doing!” But, as I said, she is also the backbone of the series and a valued asset.

Now, as for the plot development… It’s rather good actually. But only in regards to most of it, you see in general the anime starts off well and becomes something much better resulting in an ending that leaves you quite satisfied. However there are some parts (usually two or three episodes long) where you’re left hanging because the plot had ground to a complete halt. This is the terror of filler episodes, oh yes. But luckily in regards to filler episodes there aren’t that many relatively speaking, and of those that are present they’re actually quite amusing, so it’s all good. It has that classic climatic curve going on, and it’s played so well that to some affect you won’t see the ending coming (I won’t say anymore don’t you worry).


But overall Kaichou wa Maid Sama is a very interesting anime that manages to play off the Romantic comedy genre perfectly. It’s entertaining, incredibly funny and the supporting cast of characters do provide a nice backstory and filler for the more mundane parts. And the ending is rather amazing, simply because it’s rather shocking; it creeps up on you if you will.

This is what I would call a “summer anime”, something to watch throughout the summer when there isn’t much work to be done.

Premise: 5/10
The idea is a staple one straight out of the “how to write a anime” handbook. Usually this would mark it down much more than this, but it’s been played off so well the general premise is bearable.

Plot Development: 7.5/10
The plot development is the savior of the terrible premise at work here, although the general idea starts off bad it manages to morph in to something enjoyable, and incredibly funny.

Animation: 8.5/10
The animation is very good, and suits the anime perfectly. It’s got the “GTO affect” going on where the animation may not be absolutely amazing in terms of sheer quality, but it works with the anime so well if it was any different the anime just wouldn’t be the same.

Characters: 6.5/10
The character line up is very amusing, but it would be nice if they had more substance to them, and if they were featured more heavily throughout the anime (Aside from the two leads, of course).

Character Development: 5/10
The character development involved here is surprisingly average, by no means is it bad, but it isn’t amazing either. Although work has been put in to develop the less important characters (which is nice) you don’t get as much of a background knowledge or feel for the two leads (especially as far as Usi is concerned).

Fluidity: 7/10
This show flows very well, there are no dodgy transitions or weird jumps in the plot, this means at no point are you left feeling that what you’re watching shouldn’t be happening etc.

Music: 6.5/10
The music for this anime is relatively good, and it fits quite well, but I can’t help get the feeling that the anime could have done with some better music, more fitting to the genre, having said that it’s very mood setting in the important parts.

Intro: 8/10
The intros for the anime are very good, as I’ve said before the intros are important for getting you in the right mood, and this does the job just right.

Outro: 8/10
The outros for this anime fist just as perfectly as the intro, and leaves you feeling satisfied and happy at the end of each episode.

Personal Enjoyment: 9/10
Although this anime is based on such a staple premise I absolutely loved it, it’s funny and kept me going through a very boring week off.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama completely surprised me. I never expected that I would actually enjoy this anime so much. I just thought it was going to be one of those usual shoujo love anime things that always has the same plot, but nope, that wasn't the case.

The one thing that I truly, truly enjoy about this anime was how strong the main character was. She was such a different character for me that I absolutely adored her! I love seeing strong female leads in animes instead of having them just these sweet flowery girls, but she isn't tough to the point that she is more like ... a man than any thing (Though in some points she got to be like that, but still)

Anyways I would recommend anyone to watch this. If you are looking for some cute laughs and a little bit of fluff, this is a perfect anime for you! Ten out of ten and probably one of my most favorite animes ever!

Kaichou wa Maid-sama is one of my all time favorite Romance/Comedy sort of animes. I also love how they made Misaki Ayuzawa a girl who's ruthless and isn't all girly, this anime is by far one of the best anime's I've ever seen and I would obviously watch it over and over again! I love the storyline, the characters, everything! The storyline is definitely the best, it's simply adorable. And I love how Usui always teases her or whatever, makes it even better because he isn't all lovey-dovey. If you haven't watched this anime yet I definitely recommend you do! It is outstanding! 10/10. I'm ... 100% sure you'll love this anime as much as I do, I wish there were more episodes though!

as i said before i don't give summaries about the anime but my opinion. And my opinion of this anime is outstanding. I'm usually into the gore and romance thing and not this but i must say i loved this. and i still re watch it form time to time. this is a must see.

Artist- Hiro Fujiwara

When I started watching Kaichou wa Maid-sama!, I wasn't sure whether I'd complete it as it was just a typical rom-com anime. But that's were I was totally wrong. Unlike other rom-coms, Kaichou is more dense. The character development is flawless (although I found the male protagonist too good to be alive). Each episode had something different which you would gladly look forward to watch. It's one of the perfect romance anime out there and the on screen time of both the male and female protagonists is taken with total delicacy, not ruining their individual charm as well. They have also tried ... to give equal attention to other characters but it fails as Usui and Misa somehow overshadow them with their on screen chemistry and their humor which makes the show enjoyable.

Somehow the only drawback would be it is just as cliched as it can get. A boring main storyline, every time the girl gets into trouble, the guy saves her etc. If you expect something unexpected from an anime in terms of storyline, this show is NOT for you.

Your only excuse to watch this anime would be the sheer beauty of the characters and their chemistry (although she is just your typical tsundere). The romance is subtle and makes it a joy to watch and the humor added here and there perfectly blends with the romance making this show even more enjoyable.

Also this anime ended abruptly (the manga carried on and successfully completed as well), so if you are the overly attached person, this is NOT for you.

Probably one of my favorite anime's in this genre. I haven't read the manga, but there were many aspects that I enjoyed. Most of all, I liked the characters. Although it may have some typical relationship dynamics, the way the main character evolves over the series from suppressing her feelings, to revealing them little by little is good. However, it's one of the sticking points as well as it seems progress is made, but then she'll basically regress to stage one. A little bit of a disappointment there, but that seems fairly typical. I also really enjoyed the artwork and animation which is a must ... for me because even with a good story line I find it hard to watch an Anime if the artwork is poor. The story line itself is okay, but could probably be better. But all in all, I really enjoyed. Just wish they would make more episodes.

A decent rom-com slice of life, focusing more on comedy and slice-of-life than romance. There are some pretty touching moments between the main duo, but nothing that made me feel more than "aw, that's cute".

The main girl, Misaki, is noticeable because of her strength - she is able to resolve situations on her own and you can easily picture her succeeding in life without ever meeting main guy, Usui. It's refreshing to see a female lead that doesn't fall heavily into the damsel-in-distress trope, although admittedly there is a bit of that.

As I begin to watch more of this genre though, I'm noticing the characters ... almost seem formulaic.

My main qualm is that like in other similar shows (Kimi ni Todoke, Sukitte ii na yo), the male lead is nigh-perfect. They're presented without major, if any flaws, or and lack development or conflicts outside of their relationship with the girl. The students in their respective schools idolize them and treat them as gods-among-men, simply because they're /that/ good looking, yet somehow they fall hard for the one girl nobody else seems to appreciate (until a new character steps in to make a mandatory love triangle). It's very "Gary Stu"-esque.

These problems don't feel as bad in Kaichou because the show's focus is mostly on the humor, zany personalities of the side characters, and how the characters cope with everyday events at their school. But I still don't think it's unfair to expect character development in the male lead of a show.

Kaichou doesn't do much to differentiate itself from other SoL rom-com shows that have come before it. It's enjoyable, simple, but also forgettable.

There are no spoilers in this review. My rating system counts story for 30% of the total, characters as 30%, art as 20%, and 15% for the sound.

I give this anime a 4.4 and I'll tell you why.

Story: 5

I’m sorry if I sound angry while I writing this review, I just finished the series and am rather dissapointed. Same old love story. MC is incredibly dense/introverted when it comes to love. Gives the supporting character hell and goes through hell because of it. Only ... twist is that this MC happens to work as a maid. Big fucking deal.

Characters: 4

The only reason I am not giving the characters of this show a 3 is because I really did love the MC. You can’t help but love an earnest, hard-working, MC. But her character is still incredibly stereotypical. The male MC had the same personality as Saitama from One Punch Man except with even less of a backstory, less depth, and less comedy. I was waiting for some sort of intense backstory to be revealed that would make me like him but there was nothing.

Art: 4

The art for this show wasn’t terrible but once I saw too many characters that looked exactly the same I couldn’t help but give it a 4. I mean talented blonde haired boys seemed to make up 30% of the cast.

Sound: 6

Sadly the sound of this anime was the best part. I loved the little sound effects made to emphasize “stares” and other little actions.

Overall: 4.4

I am incredibly disappointed with this anime. Different characters developed as the show went on but the relationships between the characters didn’t change a single bit. It was basically 26 episodes of the same exact love plot over and over again. 26 episodes waiting for nothing. There wasn’t even a buildup of drama as the episodes progressed because the romance and characters in the show made no headway.

Now i'm not one to get overly critical, and seeing how popular this anime is, i feel as though explaining everything dealing with the story is pointless and a waste of time. I'm gonna take the quick and easy review style.

Story(8):
Everyone knows how a romance anime goes, you got the couple and the supporting cast. Usui our male MC finds out a secret about our female main character Usui. So Usui's job is to keep that secret. Thus their relationship begins...

Art/sound(8):
For it's time the art and sound are pretty good. You know you've got to have sparkles when animating a shoujo :3

Characters(5):
Now i'm someone who ... looks for a good supporting cast in a romance anime. Why you ask? The supporting cast in a romance helps with the development of a relationship between the main characters. The supporting cast creates situations for their relationship to grow. Maid sama lacks one however. I have more complaints like: Why is Usui the only good male character? Why throw in a "potential" love triangle in close to the end when it's pretty clear how it's gonna end? No Usui backstory? and many more issues, but you know i wanna keep things a little shorter...

Enjoyment(7):
Bottomline is that i enjoyed this, it was hilarious and in the end it was a good romance

I gave it a 5 because I finished it despite its faults.

Misa is a perfectly capable student who gets great grades, but is still treated like an idiot. Even though she's talented in martial arts, Usui is always swooping in to save her, often making things worse.

Usui has no back story or depth. You keep waiting for it and it doesn't come. We are told he is super popular, but he is never shown with any friends. He's also dangerously possessive, and doesn't take Misa's feelings into consideration at all before acting. In short, he is abusive.

Finally ... a dude who wants to treat her right comes along, but Usui makes sure Misa can't get close to her childhood friend.

The whole anime reeks of a MRA mindset.

I happened to read the other reviews about this anime first and most of them called it clichéd or a disappointment. Well, i do respect the views of other people and i do admit that maid sama is one hell of a cliched story. the guy is perfect, the girl is strong, the guy falls for the and the girl eventually falls for him, their abnomal family situation and strong but conflicting ideals.....
This a typical shoujo anime. But even though it is so cliched what makes it special is tht there are those moments where u skip a beat, u eventually start wondering tht why ... dont guys like usui takumi exist and even though u knw wht will happen, u still watch it just for the sake of seeing those cute lovey dovey scenes. yes i admt they r a bakka couple but they have tht chemistry u crave for in real life..........
all in all, its a good watch for avid shoujo lovers but those who r looking for something new may feel disappointed.....
though i loved it a lot and if u see my profile, i have scene my fair share of anime with different genres to call this good. :3

When I was first watching the anime it was just fun, but then at episode 7 things got real, and then at episode 16 it was really intense and heart was beating and then the ending was insanely good.

As soon as I finished this series I re watched it. And if you think about it the way it uses its characters is genius. Introducing a character that is comparable to the mc (but very different at the surface) in order to develop the mc quickly along with this side character who no longer feels like a side character.

Usui is the best chad in anime, ... enough said. I like how his room is just empty because he doesn't care about anything in life except for Misaki.

The music is perfect for the atmosphere the show tries to create. The ending is a banger KIETO MADA AIIEROOOOO.

As you can tell I am a fanboy but like I said at the start it starts off normal so don't expect it to be like say I love you where it hits you immediately with a bang (although the beginning is still great).
