Story (1/10)

This show has a climatic structured plot. The story is structured simply and it became boring to me because of the overused tropes and bad execution of the plot. To add, the fights are predictable and lack substance. Because of the ''power of friendship' theme which is overused in this show. In terms of pacing, the arcs are rush which made a negative impact on the show. Furthermore, there are no individual elements in the story that have done well. For instance, jokes and fanservice are overused. On the other hand, the ending is not satisfying for the first season as it leaves ... a lot of plot holes in the story. All in all, the foundation of the story is not well-thought-of and compensates with a lot of fanservice and overused comedy.

Art ( 5/10)

The art throughout the show is generic and lacks consistency. To add, the character designs are not as appealing as they appear to be the same and do not have distinctive features. Furthermore, I do not think the character design fits the story as they appear to be made for fanservice and not to complement the story. But the background animation is quite good and realistic. Generally, in terms of art fairy tail is in average tier if you weight the pros and cons.

Sound (7/10)

The soundtrack of the show is fantastic as it depicts and fits every arc of the story. To add, I think Fairy Tail OSTs is one of the most memorable OSTs in the whole anime industry. On the other hand, I think that the voice actors have done their job properly to convey the character's message throughout the show.

Characters(1 /10)
The characters in the show are one-sided and bland. To add the main character does not have an ounce of development towards the end of the show. For that matter, I did not feel any emotional attachment to the characters. Furthermore, I do not think the characters will be memorable in the future as they do not have any astounding qualities possessed. In conclusion, the characters are one of the weakest aspects of the show as they are one-sided and generic.

Enjoyment ( 2/10)
I do think others will not like this series as the most important aspects of an anime is lacking in Fairy Tail. Namely, the characters and the story. But, I think some will enjoy it for the comedy and fanservice. Furthermore, I think non-anime/manga fans will enjoy this show if they want to casually watch a show for adventure and friendship - which are the most prevalent themes of the show. Lastly, I d not think I will rewatch this show as the story and characters are not well-thought-of.

I am so thankful that Fairy Tail wasn't my introduction to the world of anime, because if it was, I probably would never have given any anime a shot ever again out of fear that the other shows would be just as bad as this. Never in my life have I watched such a shallow, vapid, humorless, tension-less, cookie-cutter, generic show in my entire life. This show should be considered a crime against humanity for existing and there should be some special award for anyone that managed to wade through every single episode. I first watched this show when I was at the height ... of my One Piece obsession, and hearing how this show was "just as good", I decided to give it a shot. Needless to say, I felt cheated. This show isn't even a pale shadow in comparison to One Piece, despite OP having abundant flaws itself. As a side note, this review will encompass ALL of Fairy Tail, including the 2014 and the Final Series. I do not have the energy to make 3 separate reviews for them and anything that could be said about them will be said here.

Welcome to the show that started the joke of "Nakama Power" where instead of going through training or any meaningful development, all they have to do is THINK real hard about their friends and they suddenly have the power to one-shot an enemy that was previously capable of one-shotting them. Every arc is the exact same, with the only difference being the name of the villain or the number of them. The guild is made aware of some bad guys, fight and lose, think real hard about their friends, then victory. From the first arc to the last, it never once changes. This show also has the extraordinary feat of being the only Shonen series to present a time-skip where none of the characters have any meaningful growth in that time. They are the exact same in power, appearance, and personality. 7 years or 5 minutes, it doesn't matter. The result stays the same. It's not interesting or exciting in any way, it's just tedious and boring, like playing a video game where you do the same thing over and over again for 20-30 hours.

The tension is nonexistent. There is not a single instance where you feel anyone is in danger. The few times where they had the guts to actually deal harm, or daresay a DEATH, it's immediately reversed in a few moments. I try my best to avoid spoilers, but I would like to save you the trouble of watching this shit, so would you like to know how many guild members die throughout the series, excluding flashbacks or former members? Negative 1. Yes, throughout the series there have been a few deaths, and each of them have been reversed. Gray died but Ultear used time magic to reverse it. Makarov died but somehow he returned (I already forgot how), Juvia supposedly died but nope, she was saved as well despite suffering massive blood loss. The worst is easily Lisanna, who was established to have died several years before the beginning of the series. Nah, she was just transported to an alternate dimension because they tried to replace their own Lisanna who died. So instead of 0 deaths from the beginning to the end, it's -1. The power system is wasted potential to the max. Magic in this show is pretty unique and if it was in the hands of a competent writer, could've been extremely complex and maybe even rival something like Nen in versatility. But nope, the only ones that get more than a few episodes of screen time are the main character's magic.

Almost all of the characters are annoying in a way that I cannot describe in words. Natsu is my least favorite anime protagonist of all time. He's not charming or witty, he's just loud and obnoxious, and gets his ass kicked in every fight until the titular Nakama power takes over. Why couldn't he be like Luffy? Luffy is the same in that he's dumb outside of combat and he's loud but he's funny and charming. As for the others, if their names are not Lucy, Erza, or Gray, then they are stereotypical one-dimensional characters that barely get any development at all. It's a shame because the voice actors are extremely talented but the characters themselves can never be taken seriously because none of them feel real, sympathetic, or even remotely interesting. It's just "oh it's the blue hair girl with huge tits" or "oh it's the green haired girl with huge tits." And speaking of tits, there's the fan service. If you've watched a lot of anime then you probably know what to expect. And yeah, you might find the girls attractive but take away their sizable "assets" and they lose 90% of their charm because they lack any personality or depth and none of them are badass in any way. See, a show like Hunter x Hunter has female characters that are attractive without the need for over-sexualizing them, and they have actual personalities and depth. On the other hand, One Piece might sexualize characters, but again, at least the female characters have personality and depth, and frankly, they are super badass in a fight. The humor is bland and awful, I did not laugh at any jokes and didn't find any quirks like Dragon Slayers getting motion sickness funny at all, and it only got continuously annoying as I watched more. The villains are extremely generic and one-dimensional as well, especially the Spriggan 12, who was hyped up to be the greatest threat in all of FT. Nah, most of them get one-shotted when the characters got angry enough and Zeref even killed one of the strongest ones himself, what a genius! They are a poor villain group, like honestly, if you introduced these fools to the Phantom Troupe, the Shichibukai, or the Akatsuki, they'd all piss themselves laughing.

The art and sound are the only things that aren't complete garbage in this show, at least in the beginning. As time passed, the art and sound degraded into One Piece Post-Timeskip levels by the time we got to the Final Season. But hey, mediocrity is still better than garbage, right?

So uh... Please don't watch this show. Whatever you think this show has to offer, I guarantee that it doesn't. You want humor and fan-service? Watch Grand Blue instead. You want an anime with great worldbuilding and characters you can love and cry with? Watch (well more like read) One Piece. You want a good battle Shonen with exciting action and tension and a complex power system? Watch Hunter x Hunter. 1/10.

I don't like this show. You know let's start off with that. I'm not gonna sit here and bullshit you, this show if fucking atrocious. Just everything about it. From just a sheer writing standpoint, there is nothing here just things happening. Arcs will come and go without contributing anything to the story, making the show even more of a chore to watch. So essentially what you're watching at that point is glorified filler, and to be honest, that could work, if the show wasn't a battle shonen. I mean for gods sake, if you're gonna make a show where the story is garbage at ... least give me some decent characters. Like name one battle shonen with a cast of horrible characters. I thought the whole point of the shonen genre was to provide over the top fights and likable characters. Fairy Tail has none of those redeeming qualities. All of the characters just spout the same fucking mouth spew that any five year old with a brain stem would say. They just lack any sense of knowledge or charisma, their mindless puppets just dancing on screen, bound to the strings of horrible writing tropes and boardroom goals.
Actually you know, maybe I'm being to harsh, it might just be that this show isn't for me! But wait? Don't I like the shonen genre more than any other genre in the anime library? Weird. Its almost like this show was made for me and people like me, and... wow it just doesn't appeal to anyone. Its crazy that no one likes this show, not even me, or the audience it was intended for. That's just fucking laughable.
The people that defend this garbage either grew up with it or were rejected by their parents at a young age. Fuck off. I literally cannot believe I watched the entire three hundred fucking episodes this thing has. God. I need to go outside more. Anyways thats pretty much it, I don't like getting negative but this show just hurt to watch and I had to get my frustrations out on the keyboard lmao. So yeah 2/10 there was like one good fight.

This anime was good up to a point where it just got Plain annoying. The first Twenty episodes or so are good,you're hooked on the plot and are determined to finish it. Then you start to realize how Annoyingly repetitive the series is. Eventually you start getting irritated with some of the characters constant Arrogance. In terms of characters they're all unique but their personalitys basically ruin the anime for you. There is hardly any character development for anybody. The story has so much potential but they tend to do the same thing for every small Arc. Someone wants to take down the guild. Stop ... them and celebrate. I feel like they should have created a better storyline.

When I began FT, I actually the show. At that time, FT had its good and its bad points, but I overlooked most of the bad points until Key of the Starry Sky arc. During the Starry Syy arc, I decided to take a break from FT and soldier through the arc later. However, after continuing the series I realize how stupid FT is, and I ended up dropping the series midway through the arc with the reappearance from the Jingle Butt Gang.
STORY: I am not sure what FT plot is supposed to ... be, I lost track of the story a while back. I was hoping that it was Natsu looking for the dragons, but I think he forgot as well.
ART: The art is probably one of the better aspects of the series that I personally like. The art maybe one of the few reasons people watch FT.
SOUND: The voices both in Japanese and English are pretty good, and I do like most of the music that is played.
CHARACTERS: I liked Natsu at the beginning, he is like Luffy that rushes in without thinking. Unlike Luffy, though, Natsu does not back it up and waits for a last minute power to defeat his enemies after getting destroyed. Lucy became annoying as the story progressed. I thought Erza was going to be a good character the way she was being build up before her appearance. However, once we saw her she was not the badass characters I was hoping for, and the Starry Sky arc made her worse. Gary was pretty decent, but him stripping naked most of the time wore on me and that became annoying. Happy is the only characters that I still liked before I dropped the series. Then there is Gildarts, a rip-off of Shanks from One Piece.
ENJOYMENT: Like I wrote earlier, I did enjoy FT at the begging of the series, but then it became repetitive and stupid. I think the show is geared to kids under the age of 10 the way the story and jokes are written. But, the fan service confuses me, because it means it is trying to cater to kids older than 14.
OVERALL: The only reason why FT is successful has to be the fan service. Besides that, I do not see any other reason for it. I will say this, I tried watching Naruto and Bleach as well, but I could not get into either of those shows. At least, I was able to get into FT for a few episodes.

Fairy Tail is a very famous Shounen, hated and admired by many but let's review ...
The Story of Fairy Tail has a lot of potential but was very badly used by the author, the arches are underutilized, the villains are poorly produced and are always changing from the "Evil" to the side of "good" and the plot is full of holes the development of the characters is null, the characters' personality is always the same, the characters are very general such as Natsu's that typical cliché protagonist (like eating, protect friends, is always cheerful other things) and History has much fan-service and characters useless such ... as Lucy, the drama is not moving but mellow, the story is very superficial and one of its major defects that are the struggles of Natsu, Natsu always gets the stronger enemy (it is knocked out, knocked and knocked and then gets up, takes the power do not know where and defeat the enemy with the "power of friendship" and fights are very bad and without any emotion, the art of anime is good and the soundtrack They are also above average (but the anime censorship is another downside to consider) if you demand that battle Shounen with great characters, history and development, forget Fairy Tail because it is not so.

So i just watch hentai without nipples and it was garbage. The production of the anime itself is fine, however the adaptation it's based off is quite poor and have a lot less complex narrative in it even by shonen standards. The fact that they regurgitated the same plot lines goes to show how easy it is draw people with the same type of product over and over again.

The story is so simplistic it's like telling someone to go to point a to point b without anything being changed whatsoever. The show itself treats it's plot device like a gospel teaching their fanbase to be ... like a cult, it's very transparent. If it makes you happy to watch hentai without it being hentai or you just want friendship power as gospel and spread it around like a cult and calling it a masterpiece then be my guest. However from building up a narrative it fails on every level because there's nothing changing at all and there's no growth in anything.

And i'm giving this one a 1/10

This is one of the worst shonens ever.

Fairy Tail's story is basically a shitty slice of life anime, as it has no real focus until 200 episodes in where people claim that the main villain has finally arrived. The pacing is quick and the fights are long, making it seem as if that's all the show wants. Pointless fighting in useless archetypes that never progress the story. Such as the part where "everyone is a demon archetype", and not only that but the morals are very redundant. This whole show is redundant, there are always a team of bad guys, Fairy Tail members split up ... to face them, they win, members come together to face the main villain, and shitty 1-sided battle with main villain of arc before moving onto another archetype. Not only that, but there are fanservice every 3 seconds to ruin pacing.

The characters are the epitome of bullshit. There are tons of forced drama, such as Lucy's family. To add onto it, the characters seem to develop during battle before retracting to how they were before the battle. There are loads of characters added in and all the villains are 1-dimensional villains given no time. Where are the characterizations for the character? Only Natsu is given them. If it takes like 30 episodes before characterization, maybe the characters aren't good.

Everything else is decent such as the music and artstyle.

Should you watch Fairy Tail? It should be apparent at what I'm going to say. No!

What to expect from Fairy Tail:

- Obviously fake narrative stakes (think fake killing off characters which happens multiple times yet you're still expected to care).
- Repetitive long arcs with no plot significance
- Power system with no logic or consistency

To further expand on the power system, usually the strength of magic is that it allows for a large variety of options that increase the uniqueness of battle. While this is sometimes utilized, it is much more often that characters win through simply overpowering their opponents. Bizarrely, character strength can change dramatically within the span of seconds (think becoming 20x more powerful) through what I assume can ... only be some kind of emotional power up. This has very odd implications as it implies the main cast and villains simply don't care very much when they're fighting until the author decides they should. Which, looking at the story I can't really blame them as there's nothing in this world worth caring for.


Fairy tail is frequently compared to other shonen like naruto or MHA etc. But virtually every shonen anime including those listed are more competently written even if they generally suffer from the same issues. Just taking naruto as an example (which is not an amazing series, just used as a point of comparison) Naruto successfully creates narrative stakes by actually killing off important characters, having plot driving events like betrayals or terrorist attacks that lead to large losses of life. Maybe you could object that large scale destruction happens in Fairy Tail, but it almost never affects the plot and virtually all events are fixed with magic so there's no feeling that anything will ever pose a challenge to the main cast. I could argue that early Naruto and MHA fights are much more intelligently executed, but in truth it's a weak point for most of shonen (even if Fairy Tail is one of the absolute worst at it) and I didn't see Fairy Tail all the way to the end so I'd like to reserve judgement on whether any fight was executed intelligently.

Even if Fairy Tail had succeeded in creating a compelling narrative, it would only be bumped up to a generic shonen, it's just something that aspired to be decent/mediocre and failed because it's execution and writing are bad. If the writing was fixed, there aren't good details such as good lore/worldbuilding to bump the series up to greatness.

As for positives, there is a large cast of unique looking characters that provide a decent amount of variety even if most characterization is lacking. This is also a battle series that actually has a lot of battles, so it doesn't fail at the absolute most basic thing possible. The art and sound are passable as well.

In truth if I had to rate this series with 100% seriousness, it probably deserves more of a high one to low two than just a flat one, however seeing as people give this series a 10/10 because "worldbuilding/storytelling/plot/ are minor issues that all anime suffer from" I feel that leaving my review at 1 will help counteract that tragedy of illogic that attacked my eyes.

Fairy Tail is a truly horendous series. A series where despite all of the bad I can legitimately say I liked 2 things about the series. The Sound and the World Building. I find that the world that Fairy Tail is set in is genuinely interesting and if it weren't for all of the other things, to which I will talk about shortly, I would actually enjoy the series.

That being said this series is the most Horrendous piece of media that I have seen reach the top 10 in a long time. With Characters as bland and unoriginal as they come, The character Designs being ... "Based" off of Mashima's previous work, Rave Master, the story you swear that a writer in High School came up with it while in the middle of an improv class and the fights boil down to I won because friendship. This being said I can see somewhat of what people enjoy within this series and I can appreciate it. But these are issues that I find are huge with a manga such as this.

We can even go as far as to say that when you're characters are carbon copies of other Shoune Jump Characters such as Naruto, Luffy or Even Ichigo without any of the understanding that comes with each of these characters it becomes an issue. Let's take a look at Gon and Natsu as I find these two have very similar goals, "I want to find my dad". Gon wants to find his dad and goes as far as to become a Hunter at not only a very young age but also become a Hunter as a Rookie which very few people have done before. He wants all of the resources available at his disposal so that he may one day find him. Natsu wants to find his foster father Igneel so he joins a Guild named Fairy Tail because reasons. He then actually slows down the plot and ruins any pacing the series had going for it. Effectively ruining what could've been a decent arc.

Not only that but the Fights always seem to boil down to I won this fight because of Friendship, with the Deus Ex Machina ability never being shown ever again. Especially since the fights are what make this series so entertaining to watch it is disappointing that all the fights boil down to the exact same thing. Main Character is being beaten by villain, villain starts laughing, Friendship and then they beat the living crap out of the villain.

And the Story, I have to say the story is pretty bad as each arc is like ok we found a flute, ok the flute of death turned into a giant and is threatening to destroy the world. It is written like Hiro Mashima is trying to write the perfect improv that he can think of. But in the end the story is not absolutely horrendous due to this.

Not to mention that certain sad moments within Fairy Tail feel cheesy and stupid as they basically circumsize themselves of their full potential by taking away death as a motivator. The best scene that shows this is Erza's Funeral a seen so close to actually being a really good scene that falls flat from its own limits. Here Erza watches her own Funeral as Natsu reaches in and pulls her back to life. Had they left that as it was then it would've been perfect, but they managed to mess up even the Heroic sacrifice.

The artstyle of Hiro Mashima takes Heavy "Inspiration" from One Piece and his own series Rave Master. While Rave Master may not be as horrible as the other the issue lies with how unoriginal his art style is. He has drawn almost all of the women to look exactly like Ellie from Rave Master, Natsu and Haru are basically Identical twins with different Hair Colors and Jellal and Sieg Hart are legit the exact same character down to their personality. Not to mention with multiple scenes within Fairy Tail basically going down to the point where you just change a few facial features from One Piece and bam we have a hit new Character. While some people may find this not a horrible thing to say, Let me ask you this, if a man won an art show through his own talent, a guy then traces over the exact same thing then changes a few things so it isn't the exact same thing, and then wins the competition, did he really deserve the win? That being said certain scenes within the manga can be seen as inspiration from other manga scenes which I will agree with, but I'm talking about similarities that begin to push borderline copyright.

That being said I will never recommend this anime to anyone due to all of these issues within the series. However if you are still watching the series and still enjoy it, don't let this review stop you, you are more then welcome to enjoy it, hell more power to you, I'm just stating out what I found was horrendous about this series.

Esse anime trás o género de ação a tona, mas fracassa, poisos personagens que com toda certeza que se estivesse em outro anime de ação e fantasia só que com uma historia mais densa esses personagens seriam praticamente perfeitos, um desses personagens é: a Erza, o próprio Natsu e ate mesmo Gray.
Todos esses personagens possuem uma historia seria, mas mesmo assim por estarem em um anime infantil o roteiro desses personagens acabam sendo muito bestas e infantis. O Natsu é aquele que acaba sendo o mais prejudicado, pois suas ações são muito infantis e bestas sendo muitas vezes impulsivas.
Mas ... agora falando do anime e não dos personagens, o roteiro e a animação são bastante ruins e prejudicam também o anime, mas acaba também por causa de suas cores e por causa dos poderes atrem muitas crianças. Então as crianças acabam se viciando e gostando muito do tal animes.

So, I'm gonna do a review about Fairy Tail, one of the most popular shounen anime to date. Why is it so popular? Let's see upon closer inspection.
Story: 3.
The story is absolutely cliché. Don't get me wrong. Each arc is beating the bad guy and moving to the next arc. Absolutely unoriginal. The story had WAAAY more potential of being an awesome well-thought story, but no, the creators wanted to make another story cliché. Good job.
Art/Animation: 6
Okay, there is some positive in Fairy Tail. The art is one of them. Although not outstanding, it still shows bright colors. The backgrounds aren't that remarkable, but it's ... still acceptable. As for the animation, I've seen better fight scenes than this. But I find it acceptable too.
Sound: 10
That's like the BEST part of Fairy Tail. The soundtrack is amazing. Especially the main theme. A very emotional theme, I'd say. I have nothing else to say on that.
Character: 2
I'll mention the most important characters to the story, so here we go:
-Lucy Heartfilia: Obviously the ABSOLUTE WORST CHARACTER OF THE WHOLE DAMN SHOW AND SHE IS THE MAIN PROTAGONIST. She is somewhat relatable, but seriously, she is absolutely USELESS. She has a curvaceous body to attract male audience. She gets naked in each arcs. Yeah, you heard me, IN EACH ARCS. NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, TOO MUCH RIDICULOUS PLOT ARMOR, WAY TOO MUCH FANSERVICE, AND A HORRENDOUS PLOT DEVICE. The only good thing about her is her magic powers, but it doesn't make up for her under-developed character. She just makes a speech about friendship and 'NAKAMAS' and then she can do anything.
-Natsu Dragneel: Okay, I like his personality as a goof-off, and has a pretty good backstory, but his main problem is that he gets his power-ups in strange ways. His character had potential, too. He is the main guy to save the day. He also has to save Lucy every time, which gets pretty annoying, considering each time he saves her, she is either naked, or her breasts are on his face. His flame abilities are pretty cool, too, but his fire magic potential had gone to waste after two arcs. I like his character overall, but he is kind of one dimensional, gets zero character development like Lucy, and is stereotypical.
Gray Fullbuster: He provides the fanservice for the female audience, but he has cool ice-make magic and at least got some character development. The way Natsu's and Gray's rivalry became slowly friendship is sweet.
Erza Scarlet: My favorite character of the show. Why? Because she is a badass, unlike Lucy. She is capable of showing authority. And she gets the best character development, in my opinion, of the four. Unfortunately, she suffered from the fanservice device in OVAs.
Enjoyment: 8. As much as there is negative in the show, it was at least enjoyable.
Overall: 4
If you're into anime about fighting with friendship with a lot of fanservice, DEFINITELY WORTH THE WATCH. But if you're like me, and you like more well-thought story, than don't watch this show. I deeply regret to have watched it. It had so much potential, especially when it involves magic, but no the potential has all been burnt to the ground.

I've only watched 20 episodes of Fairy Tail, and it's just not the type of anime I'm looking for, so I dropped it.

Story 2/10

Fairy Tail mainly relies on comedy. There really isn't anything wrong with that when it comes to anime, but Fairy Tail relies TOO MUCH on comedy. I did find many of the jokes in the anime rather funny and I'm a sucker for the silly animation, but I felt that too many of the comic moments could've easily been replaced with something else. Fairy Tail doesn't have drama, which is what most anime fans would prefer in anime, and with action sequences ... that are filled with jokes, I just couldn't take anyone serious. Even some of the jokes are reused way too many times, like Grey's strange and curious problem of unconsciously stripping his clothes off. It really would've been better off being an anime for kids. The story is basically split up into short arcs, about 2-4 episodes long. Some arcs are rather amusing, some are just downright boring, but even the amusing ones are still destroyed with just too much silliness.

Character 1/10

After only watching 20 episodes, it's still purely obvious that there is zero character development in Fairy Tail. The main character, Natsu, is basically your usual badass, over-the-top hero. He never takes any battle seriously. He doesn't show any real emotion (anger, sadness) other than his sincerity in defeating his opponent. There aren't any real challenges for Natsu at all, since he just treats every battle like it's just another day at the mall, no matter how worn out he is or how much the opponent tries to manipulate his emotions. The other primary protagonists, Lucy, Grey, and Erza also pretty much just stick to their own ego. Pretty much the only character that I found amusing was Happy, simply because I loved his cute personality and his comedic role, but even he's not enough to save the train wreck of characters this anime uses.

Art 8/10

The art of Fairy Tail is mainly colorful and cheery. It's actually one of the better aspects of the show. I really enjoyed watching the silly comic Japanese animation. The rest of the animation in general is overall smooth and pleasing to the eye. Even the battle scenes looked very amusing due to the animation. I don't really think that it's going to win any prizes, in comparison to anime like Attack on Titan or Death Note, but Fairy Tail still hits hard with professional art.

Yet another strong aspect for Fairy Tail, the background music is incredibly well-produced. I heard that the music producer for Fairy Tail also did music for Naruto Shippuden, which also has a soundtrack that I love. The music is a very unique mix of traditional Irish folk with modern heavy rock. The tracks are very fast-paced and have some really addicting hooks.

No drama, no character development, and too much comedy spoiled my enjoyment for this anime and made me drop it 20 episodes in.

Fairy Tail doesn't even try to become better. The writers did not know when to put comedic moments and it just made the anime just way too silly for my interest. There's a lot of other anime out there that's worth your time. Even though the art and music is very pleasing, it's still not enough to save this plane wreck of a TV show.

Fairy tail

When I turned my back on TV and started watching anime on the internet, Fairy Tail was a big topic and one of the big popular shounen of its time. I still remember when he was watching the latest episodes and was still waiting for the old episodes of Tenrou Jima.

In fact, as an inexperienced fan who knew almost no works, Fairy Tail seemed enormously entertaining and fascinating to me.
People change and their taste continues to evolve, depending on how big their experience base becomes. And so it was with me too.

However, not only did my perception and taste change, but also the actual ... quality of the Fairy Tail anime/manga. I can honestly say, Fairy Tail is still average and worth watching between episode 1 and around 80. Everything that comes after that, especially the second season after the tournament, is a disastrous experience. And just saying, the only reason I rated this Show with 4/10 and not lower, is thanks to the first half of the season, which wasn't awful but mediocre.

The work started with a simple concept that was kept until the end. The incoherent Arc-> Arc concept. A new villain, new enemies, and a new cliché and completely monotonous process. To a certain extent, this can be ignored, but Fairy Tail had no brakes here. The real story about Natsu's past and the adversary of the series was just hot air without content until the bitter end.

The characters had actually been likable at first and had various character traits. Well, you didn't get any character depth or character development until the end, I can still handle that somehow. However, the characters have become more and more annoying and unappealing over time and the fan service has enormously gained the upper hand. The female characters, especially Erza and Lucy, have only become fan service decorations. Especially with Erza, who initially represented a strong female personality, this was an extremely bad move.

The actual implementation of the magic and the world-building has also been enormously weak. When I compare this long-running SHounen with the others, the lack of creativity hits me right in the eye. Magic has no system, ingenuity, or structure. Even the 4 elements in Avatar were dimensionally better developed despite the simple setting. Though Fairy Tail could have created so much with all that space.

A favorite among all the critics is also the famous "Power of Friendship" approach - and yes, this is represented in an enormous number of works. But here, too, it depends on use, diversity, and implementation. Here again, we see a prime example of the worst fighting shounen ever. In which the creator did not even have ideas how to end fights without making them appear ridiculous. I think the fight between the protagonists and Hades was by far the most understandable. Everything else was far beyond the absurd.

The only thing worth mentioning here would be the music. I love the Osts and mostly Fairy Tail Openings. Though I can never listen to it, thanks to the fact that the show turned out to be such a disappointment.

In conclusion, Fairy Tail mutated from a work that had immense potential to one that didn't even try to use it. The writer practically says "No creativity" written on his forehead.

I keep saying it. Works with the "Fantasy" setting are the works that in principle have the greatest potential and the largest playing surface. With fantasy/magic work, you can do practically EVERYTHING, there are hardly any limits. And yet "Hiro Mashima" didn't even begin to create anything worth mentioning.

yeah i really fucking hate fairy tail. Where do i start, from the poor writing and garabage story, or to the hate I have for it. All Fairy Tail has is inconsistent plot lines, inconsistent characteristics. inconsistent power ups, and inconsistent conclusions to arcs. I don't know maybe the fact that they killed off makarov 7 times and he's never stayed alive for more than 5 chapters. Or maybe how Erza can have every bone in her body shattered and broken, by her dragon mom. With a meteorite headed straight towards her, and yet with one thing she can lift herself off of the ground. ... Then PUNCH RIGHT THROUGH THE METEOR and FORCE HER DRAGON MOM TO KILL HERSELF. Can anyone find the logic in that because I can't. The waifus and girls in Fairy Tail look the fucking same, and what I mean by that, is because they all have the same facial features. This most likely because the author can only draw one type of female. I just have no clue on how anyone can defend this show. I will finish off by saying this, Fairy Tail is not a poor man's one piece, it is an attempt to a poor man's one piece.

While Fairy Fail boasts an expansive universe and a diverse cast of characters, its narrative shortcomings and reliance on tired tropes ultimately undermine its impact, resulting in a viewing experience that falls far short of its lofty ambitions.

One of the most glaring flaws of Fairy Fail is its lack of meaningful character development. Despite the extensive cast of characters, many of whom possess intriguing backstories and potential for growth, most remain static and underutilized throughout the series. Natsu and Lucy exhibit little growth or evolution beyond their initial characterizations, with the arcs often reduced to ... repetitive cycles of bravado and sentimentality. In addition, the series' reliance on deus ex machina moments and contrived power-ups undermines the stakes of its most climactic battles, rendering them hollow and unsatisfying.

Visually, it fares a lot better. The generic but consistent art-style of Mashima is perfectly in line with A1 Pictures’ factory-ready animation style. The constant cleavage shots and fan service ‘plot’ in every episode, even in the heat of battle, can possibly distract you from the horrible ‘plot’ going on in the background. The animation is severely lacking as I have come to expect from weekly long-running shounen but it looks stunning, sometimes.

The best aspect of Fairy Fail is undoubtedly the soundtrack. The openings, the endings, and the background music are by far the best part of the show.

With its stagnant character development, predictable storytelling, and uneven pacing, Fairy Fail ultimately fails to live up to the expectations of an experienced watcher but it is serviceable enough to satisfy its 15 year old shounen target audience.

As you can tell from the fact that it took me 9 long years to get through the 1st season of this horrid show, I will not be watching the next 2 seasons and if you haven’t begun your Fairy Fail journey then I suggest you abstain indefinitely. That being said, I did enjoy my time watching this shitshow once I realized there was nothing to analyze and nothing to understand. I just sat back and watched the tiddies on my screen and enjoyed the good music. It's not the worst Shounen anime ever to air on TV, but it does have the honor of being a guaranteed nomination for that title.

I'll try my best and make this review spoiler-free as best I can for the few of you out there that have not seen this. Do keep in mind though that this is all my opinion and it is okay to not agree with it.

Though I will be tearing this apart from more or less.

Story 4/10:
The story of Fairy Tail is not original in the slightest, in fact, I would even go as far as to say that it is a copy of all magic genres out there. The arcs are cliche and even in the world of cliche most of them are not well ... done as you would see in the other Shounen anime's. The arcs are a constant cycle of Lucy being our damsel in distress for one reason or another. her friends go to save her but during their own separate battles they all get close to losing BUT THEN the magical power of friendship powers them up to Saitama from OPM level (always being stronger than their opponent) and the battle is usually over with a single large attack. Then Lucy gets just a little bit of more power and trust and becomes stronger just to be kidnapped in the next arc.

Don't get me wrong, not all about the story is bad. The world-building in Fairy Tail is top tier, from the way everything works in the present to even the history of things, which in some cases get pretty dark such as themes of slavery, human sacrifice. and demon lord summoning but without the demon having a harem.

Characters 2/10:
Honestly, the characters are the worst part of this anime. There is little to no development with any of them and when development happens it is sudden and drastic such as a character being a villain one second then after getting beaten up is no longer a villain but a pacifist. The character tropes are all cliche with the exception of Gray who's whole character idea is that he has an addiction to constantly stripping.

The females in this show, while there are arcs building upon them and the characters, each of the main ones is a damsel in distress for one or more of the arcs, and all the arcs involve a damsel in distress besides a couple. Honestly, though, they are the more likable and human characters in the show BUT I SWEAR TO GOD THEIR BOOBS GET BIGGER EVERY ARC.

Our true main character, Natsu is a magician who uses Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, making him extremely powerful especially after he powers up through one way or another but what you will see with him is that he rarely ever fights and usually gets cock-blocked and beat up by a friend who claims he can't win.

Art 5/10:
I will actually give this art a 5. Its animation level is like that of Black Clover in some aspects but not in others. The characters are well designed and movement is not choppy during animations. The background is designed well and was definitely not done lazily but then you get to the battle animations.

In battle, you will rarely ever get to see the actual fighting going on. While it is there, for the most part, it is orbs of colors smashing into each other in different areas of the scene. While when we actually get to see the fighting it is well done, it is usually just bright colors and quick skirmishes.

Soundtrack 7/10:
The soundtrack in Fairy Tail is great, I truly enjoyed each opening and ending theme that the show had to offer. For the soundtrack of the actual anime, it was great as well. From the battle music to the hype music to even just the plain motivational speech music, this was my favorite part of this anime.

Overall:
Like SAO, the more I re-watched Fairy Tail the more I came to ask myself "Why did I like this?" The story and arcs are cliches, and even for being cliche they are not well done, they are not horrible but they're nothing special. You'll find more interesting characters in a porn skit. If you want a time waster and/or are a die-hard fan of magic ecchi's then I would go ahead and give this a shot. Otherwise, I'd say stay away from it.

The story is pretty bad and extremely repetitive, usually what happens is they take up a quest or something, they all try to defeat the villain and fail miserably, Natsu tries to defeat the villain but can't, he'll have some flashbacks and then everything is solved with "tHe pOwEr oF FrIeNdShiP!" then they go back to the guild and everyone's happy again.

Art is ok I guess, but a few of ... the characters have the exact same face which is something I noticed after a while.

I don't think there is anything positive I can say about the characters, they are bland, cliche and overall just annoying, from what I've seen there is little to no character development, they have no depth to them.

I personally didn't enjoy this to say the least, I guess I did at first but I ended up dropping it after a while out of boredom and the annoying characters, I have it on hold and I'll try finishing it at some point.

I'll give it a four overall, the only thing I could praise them on is just a few of the openings, anyway I'm not sure how to end this so I'll shut up now.

I bet there are some arcs that are better then others. However there are multiple reasons WHY I gave this the rating I did.

1. This is a very common thing that even DBZ done, which is the power of friendship, I have no clue why this is such a big topic in shounen anime/manga (besides it kinda being made for kids) but I found it this show being a little bland before I stopped watching this show

2. The whole power leveling thing with Natsu and a few other characters just needs to stop this is what DBZ Super did and quite frankly I didn't ... even like it, they just pick a few main characters and then just had them keep getting stronger and stronger until well they needed to guess what KEEP GETTING STRONGER, kind of bland when I can't see the main character struggling a little bit.

3. Predictability with well pretty much everything, just how do I know that the main character isn't going to be beaten in any type of situation that they throw at them, quite bland and to me very boring, I can't get into the story much without producing any spoilers and such.

Oh an plus I did give this a very generous review and such, cause it's not so bad that I feel the need of telling everyone to stop watching, cause I dropped this anime and such cause of the reasons said above. I really do think that some arcs are probably better then others but this anime really isn't for me I believe
