With the world unified at last, a new conflict emerges. In Lelouch of the Re;surrection, a nation that Britannia once couldn't conquer has kidnapped Nunnally. In A Wakening of the Trailblazer, an extraterrestrial threat emerges, and humanity is tested as to whether they are unified enough to initiate first contact. Both feature former enemies which extraordinary ace pilots now fighting alongside each other with a common goal, expect a lot of familiar faces. Lingering plot threads are resolved and they both end on a happily with similar messages about peace.

Facepalming the end of the Gundam Movie? It however even pales in comparison to the end of Eureka 7. Aside from that both are mecha, include alien forms and a central topic is "understanding each other".

Both anime deal with humanity fending off against shape-shifting lifeforms that threaten its survival using mechas. There are quite a few similar themes, both of them have a somewhat convoluted plot, similar imagery, as well as a somewhat similar ending.

Alien invasion. Alien assimilating with mankind. Communication. Fafner much better in terms of story and soundtracks. 00 better in terms of actions and animation.

Both Gundam 00 (TV Series) and Digimon Tamers are a deconstruction of their perspective series (Gundam 00 on mechas and Digimon Tamers on Digimon). In the movie, ELS is identical to that of D-Reapers and have an Evangelion esque feeling to it. The main char in both shows struggle emotionally. Body Count and Tolls in both shows make both shows dark and meaningful in many ways.

These films are reconstructions of the TV series deconstructed with the only difference is that Awakening of the Trailblazer is a proper sequel while Pluralitas Concentio is a recap of the entire series. I can't help but compare to the writing and the music from start to end after watching these two.

Both films are reconstructions to their tv series and the conclusions as well featuring a protagonist suffering psychological issues post tv series while others fight on the frontline to defend the entire world from interplanetary invaders. While 00 Awakening of the Trailblazer left to many of those salty, 3.0 + 1.0 left a satisfying taste to those who were not content with End of Evangelion.

Both take place after some point in the series with advanced civilization and military against the invasion from sentient beings that are impossible to defeat. The protagonists must face struggles mentally and physically throughout the plot and serves as the key to defeating the enemy. They both end the series with their respective conclusions.

The main characters in both story want to change the world by understanding (Yuya wants to make everyone smile through duels and that it is for fun and not serious whereas Setsuna want to promote understanding through the use of his Gundam).

Another Evangelion-Esque similarity between those two series has what gotten me to put this recommendation. Blue and Orange morality is a trait that occurs between the antagonists of the series whereas character development that changes the character is exactly similar if not same. Plot has what is in common-assimilation plot period.

Both series reconstruct what the previous series deconstructed and with no contrast, similarities occur especially the main character and plot.

The Gundam 00 movie reminded me a lot of Ideon, mainly because they both deal with a conflict that arises between two different species that leads to an intergalactic war involving mechas and spaceships. The theme of 'understanding' also has a big role in both anime.

This anime is very much like Gundam-00 The movie, Both has aliens species invading at first and have became sworn enemies since then because of some misunderstanding between the two races. After some battles both sides enemies shared the same thoughts and understood each other, and the story ends with everyone live happily ever after. Great anime and movie.

Both movies deal with the relations between humans and the unknown (aliens in 00 and AI in Rakuen) which also deals with the setting of finding a place to belong. These two movies also deal with the gray area between the relations, and will make you stop and ponder what if these situations happens in real life. They both teach a lesson relating to the theme of the relationship between humans and the unknown.

Both films were released theatrically as well as providing insight, character interactions, action packed mecha, and humanity peace.

Both movies take place after the main storyline and their plots are similar in a way where a new enemy emerges as well as where they show the preview at the end of the final episode.

both Gundam 00 The Movie and Gunbuster has similar plot aliens, endless number of sharp-shaped aliens, earth army vs aliens in space and somehow have a similar ending

Both stories are about humans fighting for survival vs. an overwhelming alien threat. Both involve epic mecha space battles. Both revolve around one character who is tasked with saving all of humanity from annihilation.

Rahxephon like Mobile Suit Gundam 00 The Movie: A Wakening of the Trailblazer reconstructs the tropes that Evangelion deconstructed but in a much better way with better plot and storytelling something which satisfies viewers who were salty about the way Evangelion went through and then ended. Similarities include invaders invading another planet and an emo protagonist who undergo trials and battles to save the world from danger.
