Both have young female leads, bizarre situations and all-out wacky humour - if you enjoyed Komugi-chan, you'll be missing out big time if you haven't seen Poemi!

Similar style of humor and they are both anime about cosplaying and cosplayers. They also both reference other anime.

Magical Girl parodies are not that rare but somehow hard to find. So if you're looking for some, here are two. Pretty Sammy spawned from Tenchi Muyou franchise and later created it's own full-length TV series. Nurse Witch Komugi is a parody of many different anime, not only magical girls. The catchphrase for "villains" in both is similar too ("let's begin" in Pretty Sammy and "let's begin de gozaimasu" in Nurse Witch Komugi).

Both shows heavily relies on obscured comedy with cute girls as main characters. They both are really unique and share a lot of similarities in how they handle the comedy. There's a big chance that you'll like Komugi-chan if you like Milky Holmes or vice versa.

Anime that focus on characters who embody that idea of Otaku culture around the early 2000s, and parody both the anime industry itself and the fans of anime in a fun and silly way.

Both anime have insane, joke-a-second pacing. Pani Poni Dash is so dense with gags that you have to watch it a couple times to catch everything, and it can honestly get a little exhausting at times. I feel like Komugi-Chan would be a good warm-up to get used to shows with that kind of spastic pace.

well the main similarity is that both animes are parody comedies which make fun of the magical girl type of animes plus they both have a similar feel to them. if you liked one of them, you will like the other.

Both series deviate from more serious parent stories to produce self-parodies (and parodies of other things). Both series also feature magical girls and fanservice.

OK, the relationship this show has with Futakoi Alternative is that it is an alternate universe from its original show (Soul Taker for Nurse Witch Komugi-chan and Futakoi for Futakoi Alternative) . Basically, take the same charecters from each show and throw them into an entirely different environment/universe, and watch the hilarity or such ensue. This has been a favorite trope in anime for years (like all the SD/Chiba specials from the 80's and beyond.) Good for a few laughs.

Here's another example of 'alternate' universes. Remember the first OVA w' the girls (Graduation) where they promised to stay in touch w/ each other after they moved onto college, or wherever, right? Wistful-type show. well, take the same girls and put them in a screwball magical-girl anime, with mecha, sailor-fuku and more speeches about defense then i saw in the last 2 Presidential debates, and you got Sailor Victory. And they went on to make still another 'universe' (Marriage) which had nothing to do w/ the first two OVA's. OK, you get the point. darn near as many universes as Tenchi Muyo. (don't get  read more

The art style is similar, as they're both done by the same person. Popotan is a lot less combat oriented, but is more ecchi.

Both are heavy in fan service, parodies of magical girl anime, & have similar comedy styling. The art style is also in the same vein.

Both are magical girl parody series with fanservice. Both are pretty cute!
