New Interest Stack
Interest Stacksthese are in alphabetical order, not by rating, as to show the watch order of longer series. the watch order was the most confusing part of compiling this list myself. i made this over a year ago back when i didn't know about interest stacks. i thought i'd share both this list and my thoughts now that i'm almost done watching all of these. i highly recommend using this as a binge list, it's banger after banger. Ghibli Studio movies that weren't directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The description lists the director for the movie as well as Hayao Miyazaki's position if he had one. Basically a Letterboxd vs MAL comparison for 2023. Standalone Animes Movies & OVAs from the 80s & 90s that I want to watch. Many things can be said about studio Ghibli - an institution and hallmark of a name that produced movies that are both critically and casually loved and appreciated. Their distinct artwork can be easily recognized and their stories have particular whimsical romanticism that could make us perceive the world as brimming with positivity and magic, as long as we dare to look at it that way. This is an interest stack of the most well known/relevant to pop culture anime movies. This will be entirely original movies and not series movies. This isn't about money made but rather about cultural relevance/popularity. This stack is open to suggestions While male viewers can potentially enjoy any shoujo anime, the shoujo anime in this list can especially appeal to male viewers. Some are shoujo with a more general appeal. Others almost feel mislabeled as shoujo. Whichever camp you put them, I hope that male viewers can dip their toes into a different side of anime that isn't necessarily tailored to them. Summer themed animes to lift you up in bad days. All animes on this stack were writter and/or illustrated by a woman on the original work (manga/light novel/web manga/etc.). Let's give more credits and support to works made by women! |
