Tensei Oujo to Tensai Reijou no Mahou Kakumei

As I watch more and more Girls Love titles, and see them take on a bunch of different forms, I’ve come to learn that they can be really strong without being all about the romance aspect. Why? Because they do them all really well. The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady, does that.

Story & Characters: Anisphia (or Anis for short) Wynn Palletia is one of two siblings, born in her kingdom and is expected to take up the throne someday. However, in this world, those who cannot wield magic are seen as inferior beings by the ... kingdom’s nobles. Anis, unfortunately, is one of those beings. She is completely void of magical abilities to naturally call her own. However, she isn’t taken aback from this. She does quite the opposite – she decides to dedicate her life to finding a way so those like her, can use magic. Such examples include the ability to fly through the air with a magical broom and form magical blades with her enchanted swords. She dubs this form of magic as “magicology”. In order to focus on her magicology, she renounced her right to the throne, presumably to her brother, and lives her carefree life how she wants.

One thing we notice immediately about Anis is that she’s incredibly high-energy and carefree as they come. She wants nothing more than to watch her magic inventions become a success and see to it that everyone has the ability to use magic, even those like herself who aren’t blessed with this gift. Her brother, Algard, has a party where he is to make an announcement to his arranged marriage partner, Euphyllia Magenta. Rather than make a positive one, he immediately announces that he is breaking up with her to be with another princess in royal family, Lainie Cyan. Anis crashes the party and upon learning what her brother has just done, takes Euphyllia away, ready to announce that she’s her new lab assistant, and even starts calling her by a nickname, Euphie. We don’t know much about Euphyllia, but she’s an exceptional character. She’s strong in not just her magical prowess, but also in her resolve. A few episodes in, she learns who Anis really is and immediately supports her in every way she can. She complements Anis’ high energy so well and together, they create a fantastic couple.

Algard, I surprisingly enjoyed as well. Here, we have a prince, who was basically gifted the throne, and basically starts making rash decisions immediately. The reason for these aren’t straight forward and honestly, it created a pretty good story by the time the series got around to him. I was pleased with his character because there could have been a lot of ways his story could have gone and it finished off in a strong way. Ilia is Anis’ maid and another strong character. She looks out for the princess, but also treats those around her with so much care. Sure, she seems a little bland, but she has strong actions to back up her beliefs. Anis and Algard’s parents enter the picture about half way through and while their mom isn’t anything spectacular, I really enjoyed their dad, Orphans II. He’s a kind ruler who tries to see his kids’ side of things and even has some pretty funny moments too. Tilty is also worth mentioning, and she is obsessed with curses and the like. Anis goes to her for advice regarding magic on a consistent basis in this series and is likely her best friend. She reminds me of Ilia in that she seems flat on the surface, but is an exceptional character because she’s quick to help others. Lainie goes through a lot emotionally and it's hard not to feel sorry for her, both in terms of the circumstance she was put into and where she was left with. They didn't stretch her character out as much as I would have liked, but it's hard unlikable either.

The story definitely doesn’t take the slow route with regards to pacing in our adventure here. We are constantly changing from setting to setting, and there’s always something new happening in front of us. It’s not too fast, but we never get too comfortable in mini-“arcs” like a lot of seasonal anime do these days, especially in other-world series.

Paramount to the series is the entire idea of magic. Anis is obsessed with magic and it’s of no surprise that she’s trying her best to figure out how to spread her love for magic, due to her inability to use it naturally. She comes off as a bit of a klutz at times, but she’s incredibly gifted, and those around her don’t ever seem to appreciate that. Wanting to get back at the world, for whatever reason, is one of my favourite themes and I really enjoyed how they went about this topic. My one disappointment hangs with one of the short arcs where Anis needs to fight a certain creature, and even though it’s somewhat explained to us about the repercussions are, we aren’t truly left with anything more than an idea how it’ll affect Anis’ daily life, or even if it affects her study of magic. It’s a little disappointing because it seems rather significant, but I feel like parts of this would have been revealed later had this gone on. It’s rather obvious why they don’t explain it then and there, but the length of this series hurts this arc somewhat.

The relationship between Anis and Euphie does develop over the course of the series and even if it’s not as mushy like pure romance series, it’s worth watching what these two go through together until the very end. Many of the best moments between these two are either when they’re worried about the other, or during the various gentle scenes. It’s somewhat akin to what we see in Lycoris Recoil, even with us seeing similarities between Anis and Takina (from Lycoris Recoil).

One of the things that’s easy to get lost in are some of the terms. I briefly mentioned this above, but there are points in the story where I don’t feel like certain things are explained to us in full. The reason for this is obvious – because not even our characters fully understand them yet. However, they do this yet again a few episodes from the end and leaving audiences with this much unknown to us makes this series feel ever so slightly incomplete. Sure, it’s incomplete with the source material, but considering Girls Love series rarely (never?) get a sequel animated, there could have been some work put in here to smooth out the ending a little more.
The ending to this series was extremely well done. Based on some minor research, it does look like they change up a few things from the source material to make this feel both complete, and leave as few questions leftover as possible to leave out the possibility of a sequel. I always want Girls Love series to keep going, but this doesn’t feel like it has that chance to. (Story: 9/10, Characters: 10/10)

Art: This series looks amazing from start to finish and I’m extremely happy that some extra care was taken to make sure the animation remained consistent. I’m not even just talking about the action scenes, which were gorgeous, but the tender moments that Anis and Euphie had together were perfect. diomedéa has been a bit of a mixed bag with some nicer works like Fuuka and other less nice works like Riddle Story of the Devil, so I’m pleased to see them come out on top here. (10/10)

Sound: The OST has some nice tunes, though there’s not a ton of high energy tracks here. The OP, Arc-en-ciel by Hanatan, is a nice tune that mirrors that feeling of royalty, perfect for this series. The ED, Only For You by Anis and Euphie’s VA’s, is another high energy tune that’s always welcome for these kind of series. Voice work was strong, as is expected from Japanese voice actors these days. (8/10)

Overall: The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady surprised me in many ways, down from the strong integration of magic into the story, to the amazing characters that I couldn’t help but love. The decision to use multiple short arcs as opposed to one or two longer ones was a good one and worked well here. They created a conclusion that was satisfying, even if I could nitpick at a few minor details. I wish there was more of this series because it was fantastic. (9/10)

To put it simply, MagiRevo is a story where the fate of two women entangle and drags with it, the fate of society around them. It is a romance story that puts a heavy focus on who they are as individuals, and not simply who they are to each other. The tale of Anis who flies freely, and of Euphie who has always lived in a cage named "duty".

At the forefront of the show is the characters, and the development of those characters is dealt in away that truly respects its audience's ability to read between the lines. MagiRevo avoids a lot of the pitfalls ... of LN adaptations, by cutting out a lot of its internal monologues and exposition heavy material. This "Show, don't tell" approach helps to bring out each character's depth, putting on display the multitudes they contain, and their sometimes even their competing desires.

The story of Anis & Euphie is one where "Duty" and "Desire" come into conflict, and it's also a story where their love provides a new path forward for them and for the Kingdom.

While the premise is quite interesting, the real deal turns out to be not so much. While the show is better than most of it's isekai brethren, it's still not something I would recommend. It's characters, while having potential, mostly used for already well-trodden tropes that aren't even utilized that good. There are hints of romance, adventure and politics, but none of them are explored well and main conflict turns out to be contrived drama.
Maybe there is more to this franchise, maybe there will be season 2 where everything will turn out to be awesome. But as it stands, this anime compares better only to ... LitRPG adaptations and other works of such caliber.

This anime takes the normal old royal relationships like arranged marriage and turns it so upside down, that I love it. The characters are very unique but I do hope that they will show more of the other characters as well later in this anime.

The story in itself is something that I never saw in an Anime before and is evolving at a good pacing. Also the yuri-part is evolving in a good pacing, too.

If you like fantasy and yuri this anime could be something for you. If you like an unique main character I can also recommend this anime to you.

For every every masterclass of isekai writing, there are a hundred power fantasy garbage dumps that no one will remember two weeks after finishing. When this first started airing, I had a feeling it would be one of those lucky few in the former, and having finished the last episode of the season, I'm happy to say that I think I was correct. Mostly.

On the upside: The characters in this show are incredibly likeable.
Anis steals the show right from the beginning by being a very fun protagonist, and as the season goes on and we understand her more and more she also becomes a ... character that's very easy to be invested in. Her story is interesting and she puts a unique spin on the normally tropey "isekai protagonist" that's not really been utilised before.
Euphie, our deuteragonist, took me a little longer to love. Upon first being introduced she feels like a very stereotypical "cute quiet girl that exists only as the object of the MC's affection," but throughout the series she has what I feel is a very satisfying character arc. Out of the whole cast she has the most tangible character growth and it's a real pleasure to watch.
The other important characters also serve their purpose very well. Anis' relationships with both Ilia and Tilty are a lot of fun, with her having a casual rapport with both that often feels like watching two real friends bicker and banter, due to the dialogue feeling very natural. Lainie is unfortunately underutilised but considering only so much can be fit into twelve episodes I'd say her existence does it's job well, since she's mostly used for world-building up to this point. Algard wasn't handled perfectly and certainly could have used more time for development, but the arc centred around him was enjoyable all the same

The anime also handled a lot of other things very well. The animation, although simple at times, had some real charm and beauty to it that can really capture one's attention, including a very pretty fight scene in the fifth episode that I've found myself rewatching a few times. The story beats are interesting for the most part, the world building is limited but engaging, and the writers use a lot of repeating motifs that have some very satisfying payoffs. And, of course, the show doesn't earn the yuri tag for nothing, and the romance may be one of the best parts of the MagiRevo. The progression in the relationship between the main pair is feels natural, satisfying and... well... romantic. It's handled very well from start to finish and is the aspect of the show that had me the most hooked.

Now the bad parts:
This series is rushed. Almost agonisingly so at times. In fall 2022 we were spoiled with The Eminence In Shadow adapting two light novel volumes in twenty episodes. MagiRevo does 3 volumes in 12. While certain aspects like the romance don't suffer too much from this, certain plot beats are underdeveloped, skimmed over or even outright ignored. Having watched the finale, the reason is obvious: the studio has no faith they'll be greenlit for a second season, and wanted to leave the story in a satisfying place. This fact alone brought my rating down from 9 to 8. The first 10 episodes are incredibly enjoyable, and the pacing issues were more a nitpick than a serious gripe, but episode 11 sets up too much and episode 12 is simply unable to deliver on everything promised. This leads to an ending where the show is literally saying to you "oh yeah, after this all this other cool stuff happens too. Might show it later, might not, who knows." The final episode outright says how Euphie and Anis' story ends despite the fact that it's only really just begun (there are 3 more light novels already released and the series has yet to finish). The desperation to make a satisfying ending for a project they obviously know they'll never be able to adapt fully ironically leads to a final episode that feels like it's trying far too hard to tie up every loose end and doesn't really give a satisfactory conclusion to any of them except one (I won't spoil which).

After all is said and done, I still recommend the show. The first 5/6 of it are a very fun watch and make for a nice change from the extremely generic isekai that we see ten of every season, but it unfortunately does no stick the landing. The source material, however, I cannot recommend enough. I've not gotten to the anime's ending yet but what I have read so far makes the complaints I had towards the anime practically null and void.

Started good but fell apart in the first few episodes. If you are expecting a fun isekai with yuri then don't watch this. It is full of melodrama. Like too much melodrama. There is hardly any focus on the magic science that the protagonist is supposed to be all over. Rather it focuses more on interpersonal relations and politics. Btw the parents are horrible. The nobles are horrible. And there isn't any revolution by the protagonist. Rather she totally conforms to them. Euphyllia would have been a better protagonist since her character development is actually quite good. She is great by the last episode. Comparatively ... I liked the protagonist in the beginning but by 11th episode I wanted to drop it due to her. I only finished since there was just 1 more ep left. I hope this doesn't get another season.

Short version - there wasnt any revolution. Its mostly melodrama and politics (the bad kind). No fun magic science or the usual isekai fun vibe either. All characters are usually just sad most of the time. Don't waste your time.

Such boring dialogue and characters in this show. It’s like the script was made overnight using chatgpt. They legit kept repeating the same shit with slight variations on how they say it. The main character, Anus? She literally reincarnated as an npc.

Even worse, the characters seemed like shitty copy and paste from other anime’s. Emilia from Re:Zero meets Catarina/Chisato from Otome Game/Lycoris. Story had potential, but the directors wanted to force the Yuri aspect of it as cheap bait.

I have nothing against girl x girl romance, but when its the only thing the show has going for it, yeah boring.....Overall just a really ... predictable story, with the isekai buzzword thrown in, and one dimensional characters.

For those reasons, I wouldn’t recommend watching this at all, and am only giving it a 2/10 because it had a little potential.

I had high hopes so maybe it's on me to be be disappointed, I think the premise was fun but then as the show progresses you understand less and less of the character's actions, it feels as if the writers themselves don't really understand the characters they created; Anisphia's brother felt like a character only meant to create some conflict I do not come to understand his actions in the slightest and I also don't understand why the rest of the characters went so soft on him after he did such awful things to Anis, Euphy and Leiny it felt like they where trying ... to keep it wholesome or something.

This is not a very good story, it feels as it's going nowhere half of the time and the only thing I can save is the relationship between Anis and Euphy since is actually fun to see them interact and see them start to care for each other, if you don't think to seriously about it it's definitely an enjoyable anime and the protagonist is a very fun and charismatic girl and the action scenes aren't many but they are cool.

By no means The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady is a terrible ,or even a bad anime. But it's such a shame once you think about what it could had been. The production is decent ,all voice actors/actresses give solid performances, and not to mention it has a very charming opening. All of this makes you think that it could be a great ,if not ,enjoyable adventure. But things started to fall apart as the show went on. The core of the story suddenly changed from "two girls created novel things with their intelligence and started a magical revolution ... " into tons of fighting sequences and political disputes. Of course it can still offer great experience if you treat these topics properly, but sadly that's not the case here. The execution that author choose is so average and repetitive, you have already seen similar storylines many times from other animations. So why wasted all of your advantages and recklessly tried to do something you weren't capable of? It's just kind of sad to see this anime desperately rushed into an unconvincing and inconsistent ending ,knowing that an anime that could had been one of the best in this season end up in a mid place. Overall I think "mediocre " is the best word to describe it. This anime has a unique topic( how the protagonist use her memory of past live and intelligence to change the world) which can stand a chance of being great. But in the end of the day, It just another "meh " anime people probably will forget in the next season.

So today the last episode aired, which made me even sadder about today; considering I was already sad about my English teacher residing from his job as a teacher. Despite what happened today which made me pretty sad, I really enjoyed watching the anime. Throughout the 12 weeks of catching the new episodes weekly, I fell hugely in love with the anime, the art, the music, the characters, the story, and the plot. I would say out of all the girls love animes I’ve seen, hands down that “The Magical Revolution” was one of the best girls love anime. If you enjoy fantasy, some girls ... love, action, and a good story. Then you would enjoy watching “The Magical Revolution”. Now I don’t want to spoil the anime since many haven’t seen it yet. However, I will say that the anime isn’t a problematic, controversial, slow paced, and boring girls love anime. Plus in the anime the two main characters Anne-Sophia and Euphyllia’s relationship is a pretty good representation of wlw relationships at least to me. However, the anime was really good, and I hope the anime can possibly get a season 2, one day. Until then I’ll read the manga which I have all three volumes in English, and maybe even buy the light novels when I get the money and all. Since I really enjoy and love this series!

Really this anime is so cute an wholesome, if you havent seen it do yourself a favor and do, its an emotional rollercoaster where you fall in love with bot main characters, i personally cried a lot during this anime, i loved it, tbh one of the best yuris i´ve ever seen, really, you get catched up on this anime since episode one and you´ll finish it fast, characters have a good backstory and in my opinion each of them has a unique personality, the art is amazing i swear, there are some combat scenes where you go lit crazy from how good it is, ... even if it is isekaish i think as a couple the two main characters live very common situations between lesbian couples, im sure youll love it as much as i did, and if youre searching for a cute yuri to watch, please choose this one.

Tensei Oujo to Tensai Reijou no Mahou Kakumei lacks any depth because of how discordant Anis is portrayed as a character compared to the actual theme and tone of the other characters.

To put it in simple terms, while this show is an isekai, so the main character should be "eccentric" and different compared to other characters in terms of personality and ambitions, it shouldn't be this drastic. Anis is a typical character straight out of a comedic isekai while the rest of the characters feel like they're in a historical drama. She's a typical Mary Sue (why not?) character and she's a genius in the ... study of magic while also possessing the maturity of an elementary schooler. She lacks any social ability and manages to make everything something comedic and funny. Isn't it super funny when she "lacks common sense," does something stupid, and everyone else reacts? Haha!! While this doesn't seem that bad if the show wants to be comedic, the show is definitely trying to be serious.

In every scene Anis is not in, it's pretty serious, dialogue-heavy, and more somber. Then immediately, when Anis is in the scene, it deflates into something "funny." Euphyllia, for example, the love interest, is a very serious, straight-laced person that has real troubles that a real person would empathize with. The position that she's in troubles her, and she's in inner turmoil. Her monologue and her personality reflect more of a drama and serious story, as do all of the other characters. Then, Anis is more like an OP character that's just there for comedic relief that just decides to do whatever she wants that others wouldn't be able to do due to their lack of OP ability, status, or knowledge.

I believe Anis becomes less cringe and also leans into the drama-heavy plot that comes later down the line, but who the hell cares? The premise of the show is shit, and so is the beginning. It's hard to find a show to have any depth when the main character tries to be super funny and "lack common sense." When she picks up Euphyllia on a whim and it turns out she's romantically invested in her, you know the show is just deliberately trying to make her facetious, trying to comedically interject into serious events. If you want a drama/romance story in a medieval swords and magic world, don't set your foundations upon a blatantly flippant OP main character that constantly breaks the tension of the story, only for it to turn into a more serious later on.

This was usually a fun series to watch and had some awesome moments to it, but I honestly don’t think it ever lived up to the promise of its first episode, which still stands out as its strongest.

This show is trying to do a lot all at once, including: establishing a multifaceted isekai’d character, building an all female harem, introducing us to a world filled with magic, development of magical tools to supplement or substitute for that magic, dealing with family drama, managing a royal succession crisis, dealing with a variety of weird things that result from an implantable source of magic power causes, and ... a few more problems that would require me to get into spoiler territory. Some of these things it does well. Others are too little explored or too varied to really stand out. For example, while there is a basis for why the MC being isekai’d matters, it’s pretty surface level and not very interesting.

Strangely enough, the closest thing I can relate this series to is Ascendance of a Bookworm, and the characters make that comparison a lot more apt in the final episode where Anis wrestles with the possibility that she effectively erased someone else to come to this world. But that series’ main strong suit is that it keeps things pretty simple and really spends the time developing these characters and their aims. By contrast, this series seems to keep a lot of its characters’ motivations hidden until the last possible moment, making what should be pivotal scenes confusing until later episodes establish why they happened. This series had a lot going on, and it’s pacing and focus suffered for it. At once, I think this series rushed resolutions and unnecessarily dragged out scenes with clunky exposition.

That being said, the animation was great, particularly in sakuga-laden scenes, and the relationship between our leads was genuinely lovely. As the central pillar of the show, it held things up well, albeit not well enough to bring the whole thing together as well as I wanted.

This ‘The Revolution of Magic by Reincarnated Princess and Talented Ojousama’ is above average and is recommended, but it also has its flaws.

The heroines are great, their Yuri is sweet. The conveyance of emotion is above average. And the action representation is fantastic. However, the politics shown in the story sucks. There are some reasonable ‘Other’ political solutions, but the author ignored them. Even though these arrangements of the story could help the audience to sympathize with the heroines, the ignorance of those possibilities still brings down my opinion a lot.

The issue isn't that MagiRevo isn't good. It's VERY good. The problem is it doesn't give us enough time in its world.

MagiRevo is set in a typical fantasy setting, but what stands out are its characters. While they do fall into archetypes, they play their roles very charmingly and are addictive to watch. The show also smartly remains a relative slow burn for the first arc so we can marinate with the characters and to show the slow journey of healing and acceptance. But then the show speeds up, and it feels like the one season should have been at least two, maybe three, with ... very clear stopping points for each one. Most every idea brought up and explored by the show is fun, but I feel like I'm watching the greatest hits, and that at certain points the characters developed further offscreen. Anything that feels sudden would have been completely fine and natural if we had more time to introduce it, and I do wonder if the source material is able to go slower.

While my first reaction after seeing this series is to critique the pacing, that's such a tragedy because the episodes we do get are very good. Not only would more time help, I WANT to spend more time with these characters. The writing is solid, the characters are strong, and the visuals are nice. The plot takes a few drastic turns as new arcs begin but the decisions themselves are fine. I wish I saw them slowly develop in the background and then come to the front in following seasons, especially some of the larger later reveals.

I do appreciate the show's exploration of homosexuality as the social other. Anis' ostracization as the only royal without magic and her own talents in thaumaturgy/magicology (I've seen it translated both was and I'm unclear which is the official wording) prevent her from ever being seen as an equal. She can excel far beyond her peers, but because she doesn't fit the norm she will always be lesser unless she is forced back into the mold society made for her. Even if her way of life is what makes her happiest and most fruitful. Preventing her from living authentically only harms her and others around her who cannot benefit from the strengths of her inventions, but old elders set in their ways about what is right demand conformity. Anis fights a sisyphean battle but still manages to find a like minded community and those who see the value in her way of life.

And then in case the subtext isn't enough, the show is explicitly gay because subtext alone is for weaklings. I am so relieved to see such an unapologetic lesbian. Finally, no hand wringing about how to dilute it to placate naysayers in the audience. Anis is gay. This is not the only part of her personality, but it is an important part she has always had, will always have despite any resistance, and pretending otherwise damages her mentally and makes her physically ill. Her romance with Euphy, while slow, also refuses to be seen as just sisterly or friends or a phase. These two girls are in love and will be together, even if they have to revolutionize society as they know it to do it. On my second watchthrough I also began feeling their fathers were an analogy of if the girls hadn't been true to themselves...I don't feel like that's a stretch because lines here and there as well as parts that are clearer on a rewatch are very direct - the fathers have a close relationship they swallowed down in order to fit into the royal and heterosexual society. There are other characters that also feel gay or bisexual, overall this is just a very queer piece both in narrative subtext and in a cast that all has romantic tension with the same gender. Anime friendships often give that energy by mistake and even BL and GL can try to sugarcoat it. So again I appreciate how MagiRevo both crafts intelligent analogs and also shoves its rainbow stained hands in your face to say "hey, we're gay!!" It handles both extremes well, just like how Anis and Euphie seem to be opposites but are equally well crafted and interesting, mixing beautifully together.

MagiRevo both feels safe and at home in its tropes and archetypes, while loud and proud enough to stand out. It's a good time and I'm very glad it exists, from beginning to end I enjoyed it and it became a seasonal favorite. I just wish I was allowed to stay with its characters longer.

This show is bait.

And like putting a dessert's final touches, this show is also confusing.

If I've caught your attention already then please. humor me and first watch the show before reading my review as I am completely avoiding spoilers because frankly enough this show is too shallow for me to even have deep thoughts on. The only highlight I can even emphasize on this show is that of a meme in regards to depicting shows whereas it's a pencil-made sketch of a magnificent horse where the body is drawn beautifully and when it comes to drawing a specific part - or for this show's sake, ... the upper torso of the horse, it ends up being drawn terribly. This applies to the show where episodes 1-8 are drawn beautifully, it's prim and proper, some weird things are being interjected here and there but doesn't entirely complicate the story as a whole. Episodes 9-12 though are akin to that of a kid's drawing of a horse, where the horse has 7 legs, 3 tails and it's ears are unequal in distance, it was mighty confusing.

If you've watched the show and have come back then good, I hope you had fun watching (I really wish you did lol)

But now for the finer details.
Art - 7/10
>I actually like the art on this show, I don't mind the expressions on the characters' faces as for me in terms of anime expressions this show has the most accurate ones. I like the color scheme of the show as I am biased to color-based storytelling (when done right) and I love the art for the characters - almost generic faces for the women and as for the men they were given a bit more detail but not enough that it distinguishes the good guys from the bad guys.

Music - 5/10
> It's alright, not bad, not good. I neither liked nor disliked the OP and ED but I do love the score on the 1st episode. That is, only on that episode, everything else wasn't really any different. Still nice though.

Character & Story - 4/10

This show is a bit oversold by the other reviews here, I don't quite understand where they get the part that this show was doing great til' it "missed a content" on some parts. Honestly speaking it missed A LOT with that "dialogue-cut-off" cliche of theirs where the characters keep getting interrupted mid-sentence. At first I applauded the audacity to pull that off after the criticism that storytelling tool took after all those years, but this show didn't stop there but it happened 3 consecutive times on an episode. It wasn't tension-building anymore, that was just a lazy way of trying to get the watchers riled up when it was conveniently followed up with another crucial scene that exposes why the show was a Shoujo Ai in the first place, because the girls are afraid of the creepy old men conveniently saying creepy old men lines!

And the characters of this story had so much lines but all of it really meant nothing else asides "I want to value your freedom!" and it was recycled over and over - just rephrased. I swear Super Cub had more meaningful lines than this show had combined, and Super Cub barely had dialogue!

As for the lore of this show is where everything really just threw me off, the motive of the prince, the princesses' backstory, specific incidents. No, it's not confusing because it was deep, as a matter of fact if you are to watch this show then one should keep a much more "lenient and open" mind because this show is not deep - AT ALL, just plain and simple though it looks nice.

And no, I don't hate the show in fact I enjoyed the fighting scenes and when specific scenes are combined properly then it really gives a big boost towards the show's appeal. But if they are going to label this show into a Shoujo Ai then shouldn't they be doing that more no? The show was more of self-development and internal struggle. I'm guessing that the GL tag is both a PR effort and legal effort to show what the show is about when in actuality just like its story and my analogy of this show with that of a kid's drawing of a horse:

This show is just outright confusing!

It's Fun, funny, drama, deep meaning, and wholesome

I can't overstate how much this anime is underrated. When you watch this, it will BLOW out every expectation you have in mind before in every category. The animation, story, characters, music, actions, and development all are done so good and even rival some big shows.

I might as well say that it's on par with Mushoku Tensei as one of the best isekai out there unexpectedly!

The first few episode might make you like it, but what really keep me on my seats and make me love this show is the main protagonist Anis. She's really similar vibes ... to Chisato from Lycoris Recoil, and just fun to see her speaks. The Art work is really good comparatively in the same genre and the sound design aren't bad.

The only downside are as I reach further in to the series, the story really get more dilluted, and the pacing is much slower than before with some events that happen in 1 day in the story eat out 2 episodes sometimes. They make it feels more in the story and might not be for some people who don't enjoy drama or "touching" story.

But, toward the end, even though the story get more drama and tear jerky, the story it already established will still pull you in and see that it will have to play out.

I think this show's writing is very sloppy and suffers from a lack of focus. I was expecting a cute romance with a fantasy royalty backdrop, but I ended up getting poorly realized political drama and flimsy worldbuilding, with a little romance on the side.

I'm usualy not one to fuzz about stuff like this but I think the magic system, the basis for the entire setting, is kinda wack. It's like they decided the names of the spells before they invented them. Like, how did the work of the old masters end up at "Water Hammer?"*

The ... worldbuilding being as underdeveloped as it is wouldn't have been such a problem if the show just focused on its strong points, the cute yuri moments and the romance, but I was surprised to see this take a backseat for most of the show in favor of the poorly thought out political drama surrounding the concept that only nobles get to have magic. This plot is written very sloppily to say the least, being riddled with incompetent characters who present ultimatums that make no sense but get immediately accepted regardless, and the entire ruling system is made out to be very flimsy with how handwavy things seem to be run. It feels like the writers wanted to make a romance about princesses and nobles, but felt some kind of misplaced obligation to include a more serious plot, and totally halfassed their way there.

That being said, the parts I did enjoy I thought were great. The romance is cute and emotional, and the characters really feel like they change and grow through their relationships to each other, so if you're more patient than me with sticking through the bad parts, you may still get something out of it.

A little different from your usual isekai.Its more of a fantasy anime than a isekai one but i just had something different than other .It felt like its a story of romance but not your cliché romance story . i was hooked on it with just one line "This is story of two young lady from a certain kingdom.The story of a princess who loved magic more than anyone one else in the world but ended up having it one-sided and story of a young lady who had everything in the world, yet nothing.This is story of two young lady and how they started ... a revolution."

I wasn't expecting much from this, but holy crap it is amazing (at least, in my opinion). The feels hit me like a god dang truck. I actually almost cried, and I NEVER cry when watching anime, so you know it's really good. The story is pretty unique imo, even in this hyper-saturated genre of Isekai. Art style, though not the best, definitely gets the job done good for a fantasy anime. The characters are also pretty good. The main cast is well written. One character I still kinda hate is Mr. Knock-off Gepard (for my fellow Star Rail players).

Overall, I really really enjoyed ... it. If you like Fantasy, Isekai or Yuri, I think you'd also enjoy this anime as well.
