This show is bait.
And like putting a dessert's final touches, this show is also confusing.
If I've caught your attention already then please. humor me and first watch the show before reading my review as I am completely avoiding spoilers because frankly enough this show is too shallow for me to even have deep thoughts on. The only highlight I can even emphasize on this show is that of a meme in regards to depicting shows whereas it's a pencil-made sketch of a magnificent horse where the body is drawn beautifully and when it comes to drawing a specific part - or for this show's sake,
...
the upper torso of the horse, it ends up being drawn terribly. This applies to the show where episodes 1-8 are drawn beautifully, it's prim and proper, some weird things are being interjected here and there but doesn't entirely complicate the story as a whole. Episodes 9-12 though are akin to that of a kid's drawing of a horse, where the horse has 7 legs, 3 tails and it's ears are unequal in distance, it was mighty confusing.
If you've watched the show and have come back then good, I hope you had fun watching (I really wish you did lol)
But now for the finer details.
Art - 7/10
>I actually like the art on this show, I don't mind the expressions on the characters' faces as for me in terms of anime expressions this show has the most accurate ones. I like the color scheme of the show as I am biased to color-based storytelling (when done right) and I love the art for the characters - almost generic faces for the women and as for the men they were given a bit more detail but not enough that it distinguishes the good guys from the bad guys.
Music - 5/10
> It's alright, not bad, not good. I neither liked nor disliked the OP and ED but I do love the score on the 1st episode. That is, only on that episode, everything else wasn't really any different. Still nice though.
Character & Story - 4/10
>This is where my honest thoughts about the story begin.
This show is a bit oversold by the other reviews here, I don't quite understand where they get the part that this show was doing great til' it "missed a content" on some parts. Honestly speaking it missed A LOT with that "dialogue-cut-off" cliche of theirs where the characters keep getting interrupted mid-sentence. At first I applauded the audacity to pull that off after the criticism that storytelling tool took after all those years, but this show didn't stop there but it happened 3 consecutive times on an episode. It wasn't tension-building anymore, that was just a lazy way of trying to get the watchers riled up when it was conveniently followed up with another crucial scene that exposes why the show was a Shoujo Ai in the first place, because the girls are afraid of the creepy old men conveniently saying creepy old men lines!
And the characters of this story had so much lines but all of it really meant nothing else asides "I want to value your freedom!" and it was recycled over and over - just rephrased. I swear Super Cub had more meaningful lines than this show had combined, and Super Cub barely had dialogue!
As for the lore of this show is where everything really just threw me off, the motive of the prince, the princesses' backstory, specific incidents. No, it's not confusing because it was deep, as a matter of fact if you are to watch this show then one should keep a much more "lenient and open" mind because this show is not deep - AT ALL, just plain and simple though it looks nice.
And no, I don't hate the show in fact I enjoyed the fighting scenes and when specific scenes are combined properly then it really gives a big boost towards the show's appeal. But if they are going to label this show into a Shoujo Ai then shouldn't they be doing that more no? The show was more of self-development and internal struggle. I'm guessing that the GL tag is both a PR effort and legal effort to show what the show is about when in actuality just like its story and my analogy of this show with that of a kid's drawing of a horse:
This show is just outright confusing!

勇者パーティーを追放されたビーストテイマー
"Beast Tamer"
Wow. After watching this show my first reaction was relief. As the credits roll on the 13th episode I found myself surprised after letting out a good sigh and finally relieving the unnoticed stiff shoulders and lousy position I had while watching the show. It is quite peculiar though as I consider myself one of the most avid enjoyers of the "MC-Gets-Cheat-Sheet-To-Becoming-Strongest" story formulas and I admit to the instances where we find ourselves 'self-inserting' in some cases whenever a certain "scene" goes the way it was supposed to be - or better, in this case.
But why? Why is it that somehow with the
...
passable visuals, arguably-good choice of voice actors/actresses, actually nice music and somewhat a plausible and workable storyline, is it that I am profoundly unimpressed yet satisfied with this mediocre "Overpowered MC + Harem" show?
Shall we try to break it down?
Story: 5/10
The story in itself isn't entirely terrible, it is a new attempt - for one of which deserves an applause - unto once again the "Hero, the party, the allies, the plot twist, and of course -- The Demon Lord" While it is a new attempt on what is already considered to be a overjuiced genre deconstruction trope it still is a new approach towards what is considered good, bad, just and evil. On how can someone who was supposed to be pursuing the path of righetousness, nobility and justice become someone that becomes the very antonym of his very own trademarked insignia.
As far as the premise of the story goes it actually hit the nail, but as to how it delivered it in general? Yeah, I know. It sucked. The only thing that worked for me in here is how the story was slowly portraying on how much the Hero's party actually despises their ex-scout and recon member - that of which whom they kicked, please remember that as it will be showed a lot in this show - and it just conveniently grows throughout the series.
In summary, the story's premise looked nice and that's why it's still a passable thing for me but it is the only thing that is holding that score of 5 alone. The rest of the show was never carried by anything else, everything was convenient incluiding the evergrowing rage that the hero has for his former teammate. If we were to notice the story's progression by itself though you'd see that we were all just going in a wide straight line that was supposed to be "cool and exciting" as it gave us another trope where with the convenient casting of characters, majority of them would be women-- and in that case, let's make them become "r*p*able and ab*s*ble! if ever the MC messes up!
Seriously, if the show just stuck to the part where there is tension between the two of them but no convenient character development twists then I think it'd actually be passable on its own.
Character: 3/10
There is no actual backstory to any character and everyone involved in that show is if anything else, they were simply just plot conveniences; personified and animated. Look at it this way dear reader, asides from the kidnapping of Luna what else did they possibly have that was supposed to move the hearts of the viewers and see them more asides from the generic flat-loli-cutie-patooties with personalities that conviently match their name, do you recall of one? Their convenience to the story only shows up later in the show where it is revealed that they possess the power to multiply one's incantation abilities -- mind you, as if our MC Reid wasn't doing that already! Reid already showcased this prowess by taming more than 1 beast whenever he needs it! But sure, for the sake of plot convenience let's let that one slide. But asides from that even Reid has trouble knowing the worth of the two fairies he formed a contract with. And Tania being the Deus Ex Machina of tropes that is the convenient "onee-tsun-kuu-dere" being the strong type that also wants to be pampered but also wants to be strong but also wants to be proud but also wants to be inlove -- I mean seriously man how many cliches do you want to write into this thing?
The design is cute though this rating belongs to the art segment of this review. As for the actual characters in itself there is barely anything, but it is to be understood since this after all wasn't really a show that was meant to be deep nor intriguing; if anything I'm starting to believe that after the string of coincidences that arise from each character, this might simply be another way to profit some extra income by appealing to the things that can trigger every enjoyer and whatnot.
Art: 6/10
The art is as best as it gets in this show. I like the repetitive designs of the characters and their colours. I am particualarly biased about Reid and the Twins' designs and colors as they make me feel like I should've designed them all myself. The show also utilized a bunch of different chibi and expression cards that they made for the characters but didn't go Jojo on them. Kind of like Blend S in that case?
The simple design of the characters and how it portrays a burning city, a a burnt city and a post-war city. everything else was just a good "eh" at best but those ones latter really did well to complement a story telling, It fit the event that was happening and it didn't do much to complicate the scenes shown.
Overall: 5
Like how my scores are for this show it is without a doubt, conveniently balanced.
Kidding aside, it is not a show I'd like to recommend to people though personally would recommend to those that are looking for a show to simply pass the time. It also isn't particularly a show where people will have a fun time watching as I literally almost wanted to punch my TV after seeing the cliches and conveniences but admittedly it is also kind of refreshing to see a show look so expensive yet deliver so cheap.
For an honest tl;dr on this:
If you want to watch this show but you also want it to be a bit more interesting compared to this -- take my advice, just watch "Redo of Healer" I think that would be at least a bit more "spicy" compared to the constant threats of slavery and NTRism.

A Fantasy show regarding a fabled adventurer and his chance encounter to a Demonkin. Surely the people that enjoy the Fantasy genre more than the next guy will certainly bite and savor the show right?
Well, I'm one of them (currently) and due to my binge watching of Isekai/Action/Fantasy shows recently I've seem to come across good and bad ones. This one falls into the "eh" standard since:
The story has a good world built in my opinion. The lore of every race, how magic works, how each race interacts and interprets each other. It is to be said that this show feels right because the show's
...
world is pretty much highly minimalistic in terms of setting. Albeit fleshed out to flatten, I don't think it really got in the way of the main story set aside some questionable moments surrounding our MCs' origins.
But the one thing that bothered me is how misleading the title can be. If you're yet to watch this then one advice I'd give is lower your expectations a bit if you assume that the show is going to be strictly family-based in the likes of Kakushigoto (For lack of a better example lol)
[SPOILER WARNING]
No, this show is focused about our MCs' relationship with one another that strived to be unique but it just came out as forced and actually a bit confusing at some point. In other words, If you've watched Usagi Drop and had the urge to read the manga, don't. UchiMusume did give off the vibe that it was going to be a story without a romance developing between our Adventurer and the Demonkin, but of course for some reason the story thought that that alone wouldn't sell so it then decided that at some point our child would fall for her foster parent.
While this is not technically an issue for some people, I personally do because after watching Usagi Drop and writing a fanfic about how the daughter eventually moved out due to growing old and falling in love with someone else and crying after writing all that, reading UD's manga all the way to the end really threw me off and left a bad taste in my mind that I actually had to refrain watching family shows for a while.
While this one didn't do it as bad as UD and actually managed to shoehorn the romantic development in despite it looking forced, it still made me think that it was a waste of potential after such a well-written beginning of a relationship alongside the supporting details we get to know as the series progresses.
In conclusion, I believe this one didn't like risks thus making the show minimal as they can afford to, though it didn't particularly ruin what the show's trying to tell as a story. The story, however, might not be what one would think if one thinks that the title is accurate. The characters are lovely and the setting - while minimal - actually piqued my interest due to lore and the interaction of races.
As for the main story...well...I would suggest that you just look at the show as it is; a nice Slice-Of-Life story in a Fantasy setting that's a bit funny and a bit cool at times.
Weirdly enough but this is actually one of those moments where you really should: 'not judge a book by its cover'.
Also, Thank you for reading my first review ever. I'm writing it with an eye half-closed and a sting of anxiety as it's the first one I've posted despite having drafts for my favorites lmao. Feel free to criticize my criticizing, leaving a comment and I hope you can go easy on me ww
