Tonikaku Kawaii

Overall:
Tonikawa is a rare type of anime: the educational kind. Set aside the ridiculous circumstances and characters for a moment because this one is not about all the hijinks and shenanigans of getting that girl, but about the question after he did: "now what?"

Story:
I think it's fair to say that "the protagonists saw each other and get immediately gets married" within the first 5 minutes is pretty stupid as far as a background plot goes but it does put aside the whole chase and it's good.

Plenty of anime romance is set in impossible circumstances: where money is no object, laws are for ... the ugly, parents don't exist, and the student council is above the Emperor himself. That's all fine and dandy but after you reach the goal and marry your protagonist, then what?

While the backstory is ridiculous, the struggles depicted inside are not. I've personally seen my own friend struggle to shoulder the burden of his own marriage: his apartment is no longer adequate, he needs a bigger one; his single bed is no longer sufficient, he needs a bigger one (it took us an entire day to find one because his wife kept changing the requirements); his salary is no longer sufficient and he needs a raise; he needs more kitchen utensils; he needs to deal with paperwork to get a mortgage; he needs to figure out the wedding rings; he needs to figure out the wedding ceremony; he needs to file the paperwork to register their marriage; he needs to check out properties in the area

Those are things worth talking about, they're part of familial struggles, and they're actually very relatable

I think it's fair to say that the art looks good but nothing more can be said

Sound:
Regretfully, there's nothing memorable about the sound department

Character:
As far as characters go, they're actually pretty bland, and while I can't complain about it I can't praise it either.

Enjoyment:
Watching the struggles they have about managing their new family is actually very refreshing and enjoyable

Now, I can’t really tell if this could be lower or higher. To my surprise, its decent. You can see I gave this a 7, because the storyline is fine, but the notable thing I really enjoyed is the comedy most notably from Nasa aka Enoki Junya one of my favorites.

However, I’m not saying this is very good, because at the end of the day, you have animes that have a similar format to the episode like beach episodes, friend hangover episodes, date episodes, dressing up episodes, etc. Yea difference does make it look like you didn’t copy from other animes, I will give you ... a small pass for that, i guess…..

I also wanna point out the marriage logic here. If its legal to marry a teen less than 20, you must put the year that actually exists otherwise this is known as a fictional reality. Basically you want to recreate a reality by adding something true, but its not, so that really makes it a horrible time for users to believe in that. Same goes with people who are now in the legal age zone, in which you shouldn’t say that you can do it in a early age. Just Don’t. It will really affect the relationship of your sons or daughters. This is something that makes it inaccurate and misunderstood at such times.

I could give this the same review or score if second season of this anime comes out hell even a third season.

But for now, I will leave it right here as it should be. Should you agree then its ok, and if not then,you can skip this. Keep in mind its based on personal opinions and experiences, so pls. Don’t get offended.

to summarize this show, it's basically just a giant lump of sugar that is just over flowing. you know it's not good for your heart but you kept on consuming it anyway.

in short this show is extremely cute and wholesome. even tho i must say the start of the episode was rather weak in a way and kinda rushed it really quick but i get why they did that, they want to skip any unnecessary interaction and just jump right to the action.

overall i really enjoy this and i'm looking forward for what this show have to over in the ... next season

Tonikawa is a pleasant surprise in this season, and it's a dose of wholesomeness I need after watching another fantastic anime this season, Jujutsu Kaisen. Even though it does fall short in a couple of areas, it still was able to be a good SOL rom-com that did make my day better.

Story- In terms of story, the show is a slice of life, so there isn't an underlying plot. However, it is interesting to see how two characters with different personalities fare as a couple doing ... everyday activities. I also enjoyed the comedy, the clever references, and the synergy of the characters. A common criticism I have seen of Tonikawa's plot is that it's unrealistic in real life that a marriage like this would happen. However, Nasa and Tsukasa have very unique personalities and are not average, so I suspended my disbelief. However, its slice of life became part of its undoing for me because there isn't any more substance beyond the daily life aspect, which I hope will happen once season 2 inevitably happens.

Art- For me, I liked how they drew the characters, and I especially liked the way they drew the eyes. I think they did a good job with the art, and there's not that much to criticize for it.

Sound- I liked the voice acting for this show, and the music was quite good. I think the opening is one of the best this season, and the ending doesn't lag far behind. All in all, I am quite satisfied.

Character- One of the things SOL animes do best is the characterization, and Tonikawa does do it quite well. Nasa is a very skilled person, who is incredibly intelligent but also caring. He tries to help everyone he can and also seeks to ensure that everyone is happy. The way he handled this situation with Chitose is one that I hope to eventually do myself when confronted with someone hostile against me. There is a pervy side to him which can get annoying sometimes, but other times it does serve well for the comedy. Tsukasa is another very capable person, but she knows a lot about how to socialize. She also has a list of things she distinctly likes, such as video games, which I think makes her a more interesting character. I think there is a pervy side to her as well, but again, it does serve well for the comedy a lot of the time. I think both of them complement each other well, but there is little development, and the side characters are very underdeveloped as well. I hope to see more growth as time goes by, but most of the characters are enjoyable to watch.

Enjoyment- I quite enjoyed the show, and the comedy did do a very good job of destressing me from exams. It served as something to counteract the gruesomeness of shows like Jujutsu Kaisen and also was entertaining in its own right.

Overall- I think if you aren't interested in SOL anime, then this one probably isn't for you. There are some episodes where it's not about interesting stuff, and there isn't a serious storyline within it. For me though, I enjoyed the comedy and I look forward to season 2.

-- after rethinking the entirety of all my animes I've ranked, tonikawa has been lowered to a 9. though, i still think it's dumb fun that's extremely sweet and enjoyable, which i have a soft spot for. doesn't deserve a 9. but screw it. giving it one anyways!

If you told me I would rate a series that easily doesn’t deserve a 10/10 rating at the end of the day, a 10/10, I would say probably nothing as, well, y’know, that was a scenario made up in my head. But, I have never rated anything I didn't feel was a masterpiece in its very essence ... a 10/10, other than Tonikawa of course. This show definitely got me in my weak spot, because this is the most wholesome and sweetest show I've seen so far. Far be it from me to speak in absolutes here, but I'd say even somebody who isn’t a particular fan of the romance genre would definitely appreciate this quite a bit, the proof I got are some of my friends lol. In truth, this is not a 10/10 (as I said earlier). But, I just can't. I can't rate it any lower. It makes me feels so goddamn happy and stuff while watching that I just have the smile of an idiot on my face and I can't stop looking like an idiot while watching this, all these negative feelings I had, gone. They were washed away due to how happy and refreshed I felt after every episode. Also, yes. I completely fell victim to rating it higher because of how wholesome and happy it made me feel. Though, it's just my opinion that it is a 10/10 anyhow. But that's enough of me going on and on, let's dive into the specifics.

~ Story: (6/10)

For whatever reason, most romance animes think it's a good idea to have a realistic, well-thought-out story, but Hata Kenjirou was unique and brought a different approach when making this, they thought to themselves, " " that's right. Absolutely nothing! In all seriousness, though, the story isn't too special, it's practically just their daily regime with some other fun aspects and characters involved. Not too special, right? But what's wrong with that? There's not an unwritten rule that states "It's a must-have for all romances to have a great story!", as user Ronsuma said in his review for the first few episodes of this show, "The story is nothing special, but it doesn’t have to be. You will just fall in love with the pure innocence and wholesomeness this show provides." and they're absolutely correct. But there’s one thing that stands out against all other romance animes, there isn't a complicated issue that arises in Tsuaka and Nasa’s relationship or anything likewise to that. It’s just light-hearted fun. If you're a sucker for a light-hearted romantic comedy, with some sweet innocent fun that’ll make you smile, this show is definitely up your alley. But if you're into romances with a deep, compelling story, this most likely would not be your cup of tea.

The story isn't thought-provoking nor is it so complex, it's just wholesome, sweet, innocent, funny, enjoyable, and character-driven. Though I will say, it is executed in such an enjoyable manner, thus is the main reasoning behind my 6. All-in-all, I'd say it respectively deserves a 6 at best, though I can understand why people would rate it lower.

Now, just to prove how compelling this story is, here’s a short summary of the story, which kinda only exist in the first episode: Nasa falls in-love at first sight with a beautiful girl, he goes over to talk to her(?), gets hit by truck lol, Tsukasa saves him, he then very nearly loses consciousness, but doesn’t(!) and chases after her, he confesses falls unconscious after hearing her say “Only if you marry me”, and years later they reunite, get married, and now we get to see their daily life where they experience pure bliss and happiness -- not just them, alot of people who watch this show will feel just pure bliss and whatnot, for example, me. But, alright. That’s practically the entire story you need to know, pretty hardcore stuff, I know, I know. I’ll take my praise for explaining it so simply, yet thoroughly.

~ Art & Sound: (7.5->8/10) -- rounded it

The art isn't something you'd see and think, "Holy crap! That's amazing." In reality, you'd probably think it's pretty fitting and pleasant. It isn't over-the-top nor bad at all, it's just fitting. There’s really nothing else that’s noteworthy to say about the art other than its pleasant. (6/10)

For the sound, it's pretty solid, there are no real issues, the voice actors did an outstanding job, especially with our main duo. Going more in-depth so you can comprehend the outstanding lore behind Tonikawa's sound better, for other sounds such as the sound of picking up a bag, footsteps, etc. are done pretty well, though, but most animes are pretty golden in that region, so there's really no need to gloss over this. For what I am about to say, I will assume the position of Pope so I have papal infallibility and am unable to be wrong: in terms of music, it is outstanding. 10/10, the opening and endings are amazing and I love them, and they’re played at the perfect time, and for any other opinions that may differ, though it may be subjective, are wrong. (8.5->9/10)

~ Characters: (10/10)

I just love the characters so much that a score of 10/10 seems too low a score to really show how much I loved them. The main characters, Nasa and Tsuaka have a beautiful relationship that'll leave you on your seat wishing to see more of them. Unlike in some romances, there's no male or female toxicity to the other, or in general (thank god), huge and serious fights/arguments, or anything negative in that region. It's just pure bliss for them, and for us to, as we get to watch their daily lives. Even side characters, like the Arisugawa family, Nasa's parents, Chistoe and her maids are great characters in their own rights and are super fun to see. There really isn't much more to say on this other than, I love them all. Though, I love Tsukasa the most as a character. I'm not gonna go into deep detail about them all, but they're all enjoyable. I'd like to add that Nasa is just an amazing husband and literally an encyclopedia and Tsukasa is just best girl and pretty mysterious as not much about her past is known. -- Oh, and I forgot to mention, I am no longer in the position of the Pope. So any different opinions aren’t wrong about the characters, but still, any different opinions about the music is wrong.

Granted if you factor in all the scores, it'll be roughly 8.5/10, but screw that. I love it so much that any lower seems disrespectful. I cannot understand how anybody can hate this show, but their opinions are their own and I'll respect 'em. But, I’ll admit. This show has its flaws, I stated this isn’t a masterpiece in the beginning, but it truly isn’t. I’m primarily rating on how I felt after I watched this, that’s all. Sorry for that though, I don’t ever do that.

There are slice of life anime which are throwing salt in your eyes, making you envious of colorful friendships and tender relationships. There are anime which rub salt in your wounds by making you envious of a MC getting the perfect rose colored high school life. Well don’t worry about that in Tonikaku Kawaii. This anime is just a salt sword which stabs right through your heart.
A light hearted everyday life story of a boy Nasa and his waifu Tsusaka. They connected by change and the phrase “love at first sight” is rightfully applicable. A short story about a more than casual husband and a ... more than cute wife. Brought by the studio Seven Arcs which is never heard of.

I was amazed by the character design. A well made balance between normal looking and still being cute. If youre bored by the standard reaction most slife of life anime has, then Tonikaku will feel very fresh. Nasa the main protagonist is a boy who became smart by learning and hard work. You can describe him as reliable, honest, kind and spontaneous. These character traits make a very vanilla like personality but that fits the theme just right. He is not to shy and he is not to pushy. It is enjoyable to see how he can enjoy the small things in life and how he just simply adore his new wife.
Tsukasa is a real waifu. She’s cute, likes to sport, smart and is your gamer girl who can cook. To summarize she’s perfect. She’s basically the other half of Nasa so to say. With a calm and collected expression she can still be very exited by events around her. It tells you what kind of person she is and that she is just very caring.

The drama in this show is not found in the difference between the two characters but how they overcome hardship together and their daily life in general. It explores the idea of young newly weds on a level of “oh that’s cute” and “why don’t I have a wife yet”. The most beautiful things are the gems so close before us, yet unobtainable. As far as plot can go, it’s mostly left in the open. There is no real objective rather than watching two cute humans getting along perfectly.

The exploration part is mostly on the side of Nasa. There are plenty of things that are left unclear and unanswered (at least in the anime, I didn’t read the manga) but it didn’t feel like it was left out when you start watching. The way how and what is told in the story doesn’t make you question the less obvious stuff. It is not bad to let out such stuff like Tsukasa’s background or who the Kaginoji (Chitose) family is, but I think it would be better if it was included.

The voice acting and music are okay. The music and skits really get you in the mood but aren’t anything out of the ordinary. The VA’s are doing a great job and sounds sincere and warm. The real banger is the OP. Don’t skip the opening.

All in all Tonikaku Kawaii is a very entertaining anime for people looking for comedy and relationship anime. It doesn’t have a plot and the depth of story isn’t for the people who like to ponder about such things. I would recommend it for people who like romance and can take on a load of salt.

Tonikaku Kawaii had been hyped up by the community as a cute, wholesome, and fun little show that focused on the romantic relationship between Nasa Yuzaki and Tsukasa Tsukuyomi. As a manga reader myself, I was quite excited for the release of this show. The studio behind Tonikaku Kawaii, Seven Arcs, has had its fair share of older shows, many being mediocre at best so I was a little bit concerned when they were announced to be leading the Tonikaku Kawaii anime project. However, Seven Arcs managed to produce for the community ... a wonderful example of what a simple romantic comedy can be.

Most romantic comedy anime, especially the more recent ones that have been coming out, have a typical start with the main character having their first meeting with the main love interest who most people can assume will be the winner once the series completes. There’s not much wrong with this type of approach besides being extremely cliche. However, it’s what comes after that becomes the main problem and one that causes a lot of viewers to get tired of the characters and even drop the series entirely because of it. The rising action of the series gets way too long, causing the show to feel like an endless climb to the top as we get repeated conflicts and drama between the characters and even at times extra characters being added to forcefully extend the plot and add love rivals to further complicate things.

Tonikaku Kawaii doesn’t do that. Instantly from the first episode on you are shown two characters who have fallen in love with each other and married without any sort of long, extended rising action that most romantic comedy anime follow. There is an instant romantic payoff. No frustrating love rivals or back and forths between the main characters as they try to sort out and understand whether they have feelings for each other or not. The show gets straight to the point without taking any overly complicated routes that end up boring and frustrating the audience. The show also proves that a series doesn’t need to end simply after the characters get together. You can still get cute, wholesome, and exciting moments between the two main characters, Nasa and Tsukasa, despite them already being married. You can still have moments just like Nisekoi without the constant dragging and love rivals that often keep the audience disengaged. The audience can enjoy a simple, straightforward story that still contains problems and conflicts, many that are vital for the character development of both Nasa and Tsukasa as well as not feeling so forced.

The art, to many, does not necessarily look good as some viewers find some of the character angles and designs to be either overly-simple or lazily drawn(the former being a bit too common in some cases) but it still serves its purpose and at times even supports the show. A simple art style helps to complement the straightforward and simple story. The colors are bright and help to bring out the comedic value of the show. It’s not the most perfect art, but as long as it serves its purpose and helps to complement the plot and characters rather than contrast and compete with them, then in my eyes that is perfectly fine. This is the same for the soundtrack of the show, which matches with the comedic and romantic tones of the story despite not being overtly noticeable. It’s background music for a reason, helping to support the romantic and comedic moments that are happening rather than overpowering them.
However, Tonikaku Kawaii is not a perfect show. For a story that is meant to mock popular character archetypes and cliches used in romantic comedies, it does not help that the main reason the two got married was because of “love at first sight”. Despite the show trying to convince the audience that Nasa and Tsukasa were a match-made in heaven, it doesn’t seem rather convincing when all the two characters, especially Nasa, say about why they love each other is because they’re “cute”(however, Tsukasa does go into more detail why she is in love with Nasa, which helps to make this flaw not as significant as it could be). And as aforementioned, there are moments where the art is rushed and lazily done. At moments, characters are drawn in weird angles and look very unnatural.

Yet with the few flaws Tonikaku Kawaii has, Seven Arcs has done an excellent job at producing for the anime community a breath of fresh air to the romantic comedy genre, proving that you don’t need overly complicated and lengthened plots with characters being added over and over again for the sake of developing the two main characters. With a simple plot and two lovebirds, Tonikaku Kawaii has shown us how to make some of the most sweet, heartwarming, and memorable moments of this anime season.

I am a sucker for romantic comedies, and this show hits all the right places. It is adorable, funny, and very enjoyable. Don't expect some amazing story or anything, it is just a show to make you smile. Nothing more, nothing less. It is just a nice, light show that is a good escape from 2020. It is a show that you can watch with your grandma, and the adorableness of this anime just warms my heart. In the end, Tonikaku Kawaii is just a nice, calm show and should not be taken so seriously.

First let me comment on how much this anime has opened my mind to the romcom/slice of life genre. Although not listed, I really think this masterpiece was more of a slice of life than anything. None the less, lets get started with the review. This is my first review on an anime and Tonikaku Kawaii left me speechless so if you have any comments feel free to add them to my guestbook :).

Story: 8

Coming from an avid slice of life watcher I was really surprised that Tonikaku seemed to be more of a slice of life than a romance anime. None the less, I ... wasn't disappointed. Reversing the whole shounen romance type anime and starting where the protagonist decides to outright marry someone he barely knows added a part of romcoms you always hope will happen but never do. Every episode was a twist in a different direction which affected the story which slowly gave context on the characters and the lifestyle of the mcs. The only thing I would say bothered me was the fact that after the first 6 or 7 episodes, the story seemed to completely disappear and the idea of development was eradicated. Anime only watchers such as myself were forced to interpret Tsukasa's backstory in our own ways which in a way did add more suspense to weather she was gonna leave Nasa or not but also left myself and im sure many other viewers, a little confused. After episode 7 Tonkikaku turned more into a slice of life comedy which although wasn't what I expected, I still enjoyed it very much. From awkward moments to pinpoint comedy, Tonikaku Kawaii is the perfect example of everything the viewer expects from romance animes once the protagonist finally meets his love.

Art: 10
The art for Tonikaku perfectly suited the story and created a lively and visually pleasing trance on the audience. I really support this kind of art style. Not only does it appear more friendly and inviting, intimate moments are seemed as more intimate with the cute blush affects of both characters and the completely accurate facial expressions. There were no problems with the art here, in fact they're some of the best i've ever seen in an anime.

Sound: 8
The OP and ending are some of my favourite of all time. With the OP actually featuring Tsukasa, I thought it was fitting for the anime. I think if there was a more lengthy soundtrack during intimate moments in the anime, the affect that sound had on the audience would be greater than it is right now.

Character: 7
Characters in Tonikaku Kawaii werent developed enough. In my opinion, the whole part of the anime where character development follows the spark of a story or conflict ended up being taken out because of the slice of life aspect and the whole "yeah guys we're married lol" part of the anime. Saving the score here would probably be the fact that both characters were likeable. Although moments of unnecessary awkwardness were no stranger to Tonikaku Kawaii, Nasa actually did what most anime protagonists do in romance animes. Kiss the love interest. Yes, this happened many times.

Enjoyment/Overall: 10
I honestly enjoyed this anime due to its difference to the other romance animes I've watched. With most of the romance animes starting with the classic shounen revelation plots and tsundere girl, I thought that Tonikaku Kawaii was perfect for changing it up. During times like now where the whole world is on lockdown, its fair to say that people sometimes just want a fun escape. Tonikaku did exactly that. Not only is the show inspiring to find that "love of your life" its also extremely comforting giving the viewer what can be best described as "a love for life".

FIRST OF ALL THIS SHOW IS SOOO DAMN CRINGE!!
I really enjoyed the first 4 -5 episodes after that it was just cringe. I felt like they were repeating the same exact shit like how they gonna kiss or how they gonna cuddle n shit. The music was good, really liked the opening song. Animation is decent, not good but not bad either. Story kinda makes no sense first u gonna enjoy the show but then u just gonna cringe yourself. Well if u want to watch a romcom with no summer festival arcs, no high school trips, no love triangles, no pathetic ... mc, no confessions in the last episode of the series then damn this show is totally for u A really smart boy with a weird name ( I mean genuinely a weird name lol) and a beautiful under-aged girl( probably not idk) end up getting married and the chaos after that this shit is definitely for you. Its actually trash but it's good trash.

Tonikaku Kawaii, also known as Fly Me to the Moon or Over the Moon for You, is a 2020 anime series based on the manga of the same name by Kenjiro Hata. The series follows the story of Nasa Yuzaki, a high school student who falls in love with a mysterious girl named Tsukasa Tsukuyomi on the night of his entrance exam. Tsukasa tells Nasa that she will marry him if he can prove his love for her, so Nasa spends the next five years studying and working hard in order to propose to Tsukasa.

Great Art and Storyline

Tonikaku Kawaii is a beautifully animated series with ... a heartwarming storyline. The art style is simple but effective, and the characters are all very expressive. The storyline is full of sweet and funny moments, and it does a great job of portraying the early stages of a new relationship.

Improved Character Development

One of the biggest improvements in the anime adaptation of Tonikaku Kawaii is the character development of Tsukasa. In the manga, Tsukasa is often portrayed as a very mysterious and stoic character. However, in the anime, we get to see more of her human side. She is still a bit shy and awkward, but she is also very loving and caring towards Nasa.

Shy-Romantic Version

Another improvement in the anime is the way that it portrays the romance between Nasa and Tsukasa. In the manga, the romance can sometimes feel a bit rushed and unrealistic. However, in the anime, the romance is much more gradual and believable. We get to see Nasa and Tsukasa slowly get to know each other and fall in love, and it is a very heartwarming process to watch.

Less Intense Jealousy

One of the criticisms of the manga is that the jealousy between Nasa and Tsukasa can be a bit over the top. However, the anime does a good job of toning down the jealousy and making it more realistic. Nasa still gets jealous from time to time, but it is never to the point where it becomes frustrating for the viewer.

Overall Recommendation

Overall, Tonikaku Kawaii is a wonderful anime series that is sure to warm your heart. It has great art, a heartwarming storyline, and well-developed characters. If you are a fan of romance anime, then I highly recommend checking out Tonikaku Kawaii.

First of all, OP is banger, you can't skip this opening. Music is outstanding and bgm is supporting too well through the anime.

As for art, I must say it could be better but still with this art anime is amazing

It is romcom anime but not the typical cliche type where boy and girl develops feelings and jealousy stuff etc. This starts right off with marriage and I must say the story is pretty wholesome.

Enjoyment is 100% guaranteed

everybody trashing this anime have the same boring generic answer, they all pretend to have good taste and then favourite stuff like plunderer.

everything about this anime is ALMOST perfect the story is fun, the characters are interesting, and a rare thing you find here is that it makes you WANT to find out about their philosophies and how they feel, unlike where in most other animes you just think "oh that's cool i guess"
the music is amazing and hold a place in many peoples playlists.

i do recommend this anime and if you don't like it then that's your opinion and i respect that, but don't ... be like the others saying generic things while also being engaged in generic animes

The main strong point in this anime is that it develops pure romance and simple moment of life that a couple need to develop to grow closer in their relationship.

Because everything done in the anime is quite cutely done at the end.

the story is very nice, I'm not sorry at all, even if at the same time it's absurd.
otherwise it's very nice, it didn't bore me.
it may seem cringe, but it intrigues at the same time, stimulating you to watch the anime.
the anime, of course, is not serious, and features joking moments that in my opinion are perfect for such a plot.
in itself, there are no twists.

the animations are not the best, but it is not necessary for this anime, given its simplicity.
tsukasa is drawn stracarina, like the other women of the anime. nasa isn't bad either.

the ... two protagonists are very cute.
nasa is a 'normal' character (?), already she is a boy, and is presented, in fact, as a boy who is at the first experiences.
about tsukasa I have nothing to say, it would have been better if they had better explained his past, which remains a mystery to nasa and the viewers.
the best episodes of the anime are the ones where only the two of them stay, the other characters like the sister and the three slaves are annoying, but they are still watchable.

Not gonna lie when I started the anime I thought it wont be that interesting or worth watching cause Nasa [ the MC] literally found the love of his life and proposed in the first ep, i thought its gonna be cheesy and lame. but when I watched it further I started to like the show and the way Nasa and Tsukasa flirt and play around with each other. all there is in the show up till now is how both of their love grow for each other and flirting with each other, so if I had to describe the anime in one word it'd ... be "cute".
i read the manga as well but I wont right the review on that cause I don't wanna spoil you guys.

You ever have a show that despite it being about 24 minutes long, it feels like 3 - 4 minutes? This is literally how I felt watching all 12 episodes of this anime. Personally, people love Tsukasa and her smug/adorable ways but I need to mentioned the real MVP...my man Nasa Yuzaki. This guy is a legend (a bit of spoilers if you are curious), from starting at wanting to hold hands with his wife to literally being the most daring person in LITERALLY 4 episodes. I can't state how much I've loved a show before, absolutely can not wait until Season 2 + The ... Ova Episode. Can't wait to see Nasa and Tsukasa's newlywed life blossom!

Look, I'll get straight to the point with this review, in a world full of high school romcoms where the Protagonists have a constant "will they, will they not get together" type of deal it is very refreshing to see a show that just shows you the daily life of an already married couple. This is one of the most wholesome animes I've ever watched, the art style really helps it too. The story wasn't anything innovative but for a slice of life-ish romcom it was still different from the norm. The art is outstanding, really cute character designs that really drive home the wholesomeness ... of this show, that being said, it suffered a little bit from making certain characters (such as Nasa) look way too young for my taste. The music again is nothing groundbreaking, and like with most anime you probably won't even realize it is there. Of course that also means it wasn't bad at any point. Now, getting to my biggest issue and why my character rating is so low compared to all the other ones, enter Chitose. Chitose plays the heroine's little sister, obviously since we're talking about anime this means she absolutely needs to:

1. Be a loli
2. Have the absolute worst attitude ever
3. Have a sister complex to the point where she even says she wants to marry her sister.

Here is the thing: for a one or even two episode gig, fine I buy it, but this annoying, spoiled little brat was on screen for like half the episodes. She gets more screen time than anyone at the bath house! And she doesn't even serve any sort of purpose other than to annoy the crap out of her sister and constantly demonstrate how much of a good guy Nasa is (which the girls at the bath house already do). Anyways she is straight up unlikable, and if the bits with the main characters weren't so good she would have easily ruined this whole show.

Conclusion: if you are looking for a refreshing take on anime romcoms and/or just want an anime that will have you constantly smiling (except for any second Chitose is on screen) then by all means go ahead and give this a watch, but don't expect an exuberant amount of character development or a revolutionary story. The way I see it, it is as much of a slice of life as it is a romcom.

PS: Note that everything written here is solely based on the current 12 episodes of the anime with no knowledge of the manga. Furthermore, there were many plot points (such as the main girl's backstory) that were left unresolved and could appear in future seasons/movies.

This anime is soo good, it deserves a season 2. I feel really sad that this is the second last episode. Please give us season 2
I like everythingabout this anime the story, the characters and overall it is a great and will be one of the best romance animes.

The one thing i dislike about this anime is Tsukasa's step sister. She is very annoying and very clingy.


I was also surprised by the first episode, when Nasa-Kun got hit by Truck Kun i thought he was gonna get Isekai'ed but instead ... he got a wife.
