- Both a historical Chinese romance anime - Both have a strong female lead - Male leads fall for the female lead after getting to know each other - Male leads are talented, smart and handsome

*Historical romance *Strong female MC, especially smarter than expected by men around her. *Handsome male MC, stoic but tsundere likes the female MC. *Royalty & Plotting *Arranged marriage [entering the royal palace of the prince] *Similar humor/comedy *Strong spirits feature later in the anime.

Strong, kind, and eccentric female lead with a clingy attractive male lead in a seat of power who has a mostly one-sided attraction to the female lead in an ancient Chinese setting

Both anime are extremely similar right down to plot & setting. Only differences I can think of is that the protagonist for Tong Ling Fei is more courageous than the protag in My Happy Marriage and TLF has more comedy than MHM. Tong Ling Fei is basically the Chinese version of this anime. I highly recommend both of them so if you're a fan of either please consider checking the other out!

I'll try to keep the similarities between these shows as brief as possible: 1. Both have 'strong' female leads with quirky personalities, and yet, both need to be saved by the male MCs in their lives. 2. Both have a brown haired cutie who's loyal to the prince 3. Both the female MCs have a handmaiden who's loyal to them 4. You get to see a lot of arbitrary magical powers, with little to no explanation about them. 5. Both girls are mistreated by their fathers bc of their past. 6. Both male MCs have a tragic past, which is supposed to be an excuse for their trash behaviour towards  read more

Other than it felt similar to me... -Ancient palace setting -Prince trying to figure out who the female lead is -supernatural female lead with strong personality -other ladies tying to get the prince's attention Tong Ling Fei has more comedic relief elements to it though

Ancient China with supernatural background. MCs are badass women, fall in love with cool royal guys. Tong ling fei is better in everything, but both are worth-watching.

In comment: Both have princes to choose from and in both the princes are different and incredible in their own way. Both anime play in old china and both have a nice drawing design. both are about love, friendship and struggle. And not to forget, both have this one cold prince that seems to be a jerk but in the end he is the one who's very reliable, charming!!! The differences In Sheng Shi Zhuang Niang you don't know who the winner is... meaning you don't know which lover she chooses. But in Tong Ling Fei you will know it! In Sheng Shi Zhuang Niang it's all about beauty, make-up. In Tong  read more

both have beautiful music and similar character personality. many themes and plot points are the same with both story containing a jealous woman that the believes that the male lead should only be with them and bullies the female lead because of it.

a similar approach to comedic set-up - every minor gag is a Chekhov's gun for a bigger, funnier joke. While the two seem rather different in terms of characters, there are thematic similarities beneath the surface level character design tendencies - the importance of gaining allies, of family loyalty, of creative problem-solving. The overarching plot is hidden by the silly moments until it sneaks up to you and hits you on the head with a pan and suddenly you're having big feelings about the dynamics and crying.

Tong Ling Fei and Mo Dao Zu Shi have their historical Chinese setting in common. Though they're not historically accurate I enjoyed their settings very much. There are lots of beautiful action scenes in both, often combined with spiritual powers. They both address rather serious political issues within various clans (in MDZS the issues culminate in a bloody war). TLF is generally a lot more light-hearted and comedic than MDZS and it's a reverse harem whereas MDZS has BL elements. The two main characters are somewhat similar though their dynamic is completely different. You have a chatty, cheeky, fun-loving character on one side paired  read more

Both are shoujo romances with strong female leads that don't (generally) abide to typical shoujo stereotypes

They are both set in an historical fantasy world. In both a strong girl character marries a ruler she is not interested in. I guess both are a girls-guilty-pleasure kind of anime and were a lot of fun to me.

It follows through a strong female lead with a constant hot and cold relationship with her betrothed, facing scheming and malicious jealous antagonists while showcasing how the couple's selflessness to protect each other deepens their relationship.

Both are historical dramas set in Ancient China. They are love stories between Empress and Emperor who don't get along at first.

Nanami and Yun Xi are both strong-willed but kind heroines with spiritual powers and spirit friends. Similar genres of romance, supernatural, and comedy.

Strong and independent female lead. The main male character's are relaxed but can be dominant. Both have some pretty good comedy and a story that builds up a romance and a connection.
