I have been much less active these past few months and switched to watching dramas but still enjoy watching anime from time to time. I have also been a very active scan reader XD. When watching anime, I pay attention to music and voices, so having deep and expressive OST is a necessary (unsufficient though) condition to have a very high ranking in my list. I am nonetheless a pretty tolerant anime watcher and like trying new things and genres.
I have been interested in China for many years, and I really like Chinese animation
(All but one from the excellent Meng Qi Shi Shen, it's up to you to find the intruder :p)
Here are extended favorites (not in order) :
Extended favorite anime
Extended favorite male charac
Extended favorite female charac
My Chinese favorites
Genres I like most :
-Historical + Cultural
; I am very satisfied when I actually learn something in an anime, when I want to get more info about what I have just seen - Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
, Nobunaga Concerto (great insight in Japanese History)
, Kaze Tachinu
, Rurouni Kenshin
-Epic + Heroic
; I like when an anime depicts a whole saga, where charaters evolve a lot, when major + global issues are at stake, but not in a too naïve way - Arslan Senki
, Shoukoku no Altaïr (one of my all time's favorite !)
, Ookami to Koushinryou
, Nejimaki Seirei Senki: Tenkyou no Alderamin
, Legend of Basara
; OST is the number one criteria for me, so of course I really pay attention to nice musical animes, or animes in which music truly plays an essential part - Nodame Cantabile
, Sakamichi No Apollon
, Zetsuen No Tempest (among best OST ever)
, Shigatsu Wa Kimi No Uso
with fair - not necessarily happy - endings, clearly more Seinen-type where main characters are sometimes ready to do what needs to be done - Death Note
, Code Geass
, Banana Fish (dark, creepy, but in the same time... Beautiful!)
, 91 Days
-As I said, Chinese
anime, I love and understand to some extent the language, some of them have extraordinary storyline, Art is really different and you have this "Chinese humor" or "Chinese touch" you would be able to notice even if the language was not Chinese ; Mo Dao Zu Shi (one of my first, and still definitely one of my favorites !)
, Tong Ling Fei
, Meng Qi Shi Shen
, Quanzhi Gaoshou
-And last but definitely not least balanced Romance
anime (of all kinds), not fan-service and Ecchi-based, I mean realistic romance with elaborated characters and personalities (I think some BL are very good in this) - Doukyuusei (amazing art and music, realistic story, I can't recommend it enough)
, Meng Qi Shi Shen
, Sayonara no Asa ni Yakusoku no Hana wo Kazarou
, Kareshi Kanojo (cool romance with extra-low budget)
, Yuri On Ice
+ some of the ones I already mentioned before...
What I hate most :
-Ecchi, Loli and Harem
stuff of all kind, totally irrealistic representation of human body (male & female) when not justified and motivated by the plot. I don't have anything against Isekaï in general but a lot of them have too much ecchi and there is nothing I dislike more than a promising anime in cool universe being polluted by this kind of stuff. You can watch the disgusting Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu (I should not talk about this crap here)
to get practical illustration of what I just said ;
-Angelic + naïve female characters
who do not know anything and whose only "utility" is to be kidnapped - So long for women emancipation btw - Fruits Basket
, Kimi Ni Todoke (not BAD but extremely boring and frustrating)
and many other more, but these two are very representative.
I'm open for any anime suggestion or comment, if you send me a friend request plz send a message or comment :p
N.B. : I've also read tons of Chinese/Japanese/Korean web comics that aren't in MAL database, so don't think of me as just an anime watcher :p

The OP and ED are good to hear every once in a while. OP is good to use for a physical workout session.
Curious to know what's your opinion in Yuri On Ice?
I prefer reading it after the anime. If I understand it's okay, I even can be clever sometimes😂
He's really good too, you have great taste for sure (I mean in animes too).
But guess I have to wait until then.. Everything for Lan Wangji😂 Yeah, he is my fav xd
I'm looking forward to see what awaits me in this season then😁
Of course, but I stopped a bit in the S2, so I'll have to complete it to watch the S3. I'm very curious about it now, I see just like everywhere how cool is it. I really want to watch that, but I have other things to do today, so I have to pass it to tomorrow. I even saw a cool yt video about it today, haha I can't wait😆
I'm interested in your opinion as well, do you like it?
In Slime anime Rimuru's voice was a bit irritating to me too, and in Mushoku I liked this. I loved that opening too.. It's just perfect.
But it's often said, that Mushoku is unique because of the sexualization of childrens. Other animes don't really do that, while Mushoku is very much. I don't really liked that kind of thing on it, and I felt like in that 11 ep didn't really happen anything. It's not like it was boring or anything, but I thought it will be really fast and there'll be much action, but it was kinda slower then I expected.
I watched the first two ep in the past few days, and I quite like it that much as the first season. What do you think about the second season so far?
Also, sorry for the late reply ^^
Yeah, Mushoku Tensei is good, I'm glad I finally started it. If my friends didn't make me to watch it I would probably got myself to watch it after ages. To tell the truth I wasn't interested in it even a little bit, yet it's so popular and stuff like that. It's not really for me but I admit it's good. What are your thoughts about it?
I really liked the first season of Natsume Yuujinchou, but I didn't watch any other seasons of the show. The remaining is still that good as the first?
Qinling Shenshu isn't fully subbed in English right now. So far, only episode 1 is (https://wuzimiko.github.io/subsoverlay/bronzetreeofdeath/en-01). Other than that, I think it's really up to you to decide whether to watch it or not. The premise is pretty simple: it's just about grave-robbing and treasure-hunting, so you might or might not like it. The reason I have it in my favorites is because of some parts of the story later on and the opening and ending songs as well, which I liked. I have heard about the live action drama, but I haven't watched it yet.
