Oh man too bad MyAnimeList does not have have ratings for Enjoyment above 10 points because i would give this masterpiece of a show above 100 points.

I mean if a thing or word like Anti-cliche existed then it would be called Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!

This is not Anti-cliche ..This is Anti Anti-cliche because everything becomes soo unexpected after one minute of each episode (I have already watched all the previous seasons and ovas and this review is about all of them.
I ... was going into this show to find gold and came back with not diamonds but something far more precious thing that a diamond could never reach.
I don't know why but after a few episodes my mouth actually stared to hurt and i wondered why.. it was because i laughed my frickin mouth off every 20 seconds in this series.
I read some reviews saying that this series has no story or it is plotless. You guys are DEAD WRONG. Not every anime has to follow the same plot of getting isekaid by truck-kun and meet some girls and have harem or romance.
This is in fact a masterpiece of a show that many people drop after 2 episodes saying it has no plot or making up some lame excuses.
Believe me whenever you start watching this you will have a dumb smile on your face every single time whether you admit it or not ...
Yeah now the characters are simply the best..
We got our main character kazuma who is not at all like the other isekei protagonist and he has some real frickin sense
Then we got Aqua the goddess which people may say who is completely useless but in reality is actually completely useless ( Just kidding guys she is completely useless ) usefull on rare occasions lmaoo
Then we got the star of the show ( for me ) which is darkness who may seem horny and craving for s*x but is actually a masochist.. Yeah she is masochist not horny you guys. She gets pretty embarrassed if having to fu*k a guy. ( don't get the wrong idea she is actually pretty strong and awesome and makes all kinds of noises while getting hit on purpose because she is a masochist if you know what i mean )
Then we got a girl who may seem like a loli but is actually 17 years ol i think who just lives to do one thing in her life.....EExxxxplllloooooosssssioooonnnn
Yeah the characters are pretty awesome
Now for the animation it definitely deserves 10/10.. Every fine details are beautifully animated and you will never get bored seeing this
Overall 11/10 because it deserves that rating.

A 1.5 hour long Konosuba episode that contains just about everything you'd expect.

You know how between all the goofing around, the gang sometimes does end up taking on a big bad from the Demon Lords army in the TV-series? Well here, the story is that plus all the setup necessary. So you can expect everyone to put their abilities to use (or misuse). In the meantime, there is plenty of room for a bit of exploration of the Konosuba world, more specifically the Crimson Demons and the characters of Megumin and Yunyun.

It is always nice to see everyone bouncing off eachother with their ... flawed personalities. Usually this leads to the funny results you'd hope to see.

Whenever an anime series gets an additional movie, there's usually an upgrade in the animation department, and Konosuba is not really an exception. While it looks and feels the same as the show, when it needs to it pulls off a bit of neat sakuga, these cool camera pans that look fluid and have impact. But also, the art can go off-model or lack detail when the show needs a moment to be funny, and it works.

This movie is a nice addition to the series, worth watching.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!: Kurenai Densetsu or Konosuba : Legend of Crimson continued the legacy that Konosuba franchise has become.The great thing about this series is the top-notch quality of humor and character development which never gets old.Kazuma after this movie can be called of the greatest anime characters the anime has ever seen who still managed to surprise me after watching two seasons.Everything about this guy is likable.Now lets get into the review which by the way I wrote just after watching the movie:

The first half of the movie is full of same old but brilliant humor full of quarrels and sexual ... jokes which actually was the strong point of this movie. i don't remember of any anime movie making me laugh so much(But then it is Konosuba).Kazuma was the best as always and was the epicenter of all jokes.The movie had some character development which you will see.

Art was really good and complemented the humor aspect of the series really well.(Remember its not a action anime).Real good use of the colors and pyrotechnics.Some might say fighting part didn't seem good but it was okay.

Story might be the weak point of this movie.That doesn't mean it was bad.But yeah it was mediocre at best.Looked like a long episode of the anime.
Perfect pacing and a solid ending.

A enjoyable movie to watch and will make you love this series more.

Konosuba the Movie, the closest thing we will get to a season 3 as of January 2020. Did the film worth nearly a year of waiting since it was announced? YES! The film captures the original energy and essence perfectly. Humour is on point, voice acting brilliantly acted, animation outstanding and very very enjoyable.

Story 7/10
The story is pretty basic in concept with the humor and characters driving the plot forward. The film feels like an episode just stretched out to 90 minutes and this point is proven when they included the cutaway slides. To be honest I think they were making the ... first cour of season 3 but said: "Nah make it into a movie". The cutaway slides did bring a sense of nostalgia but did get a bit tedious as it broke up the pacing of the film but it stopped when the climax was happening

Art 8/10
The animation was one thing nearly every Konosuba fan was worried about as it was a change in the studio but we were able to rest assured knowing its the same staff. The animation, in my opinion, looks more crisp and clean with the expressions and movement of the characters having more impact.

Character 10/10
The Konosuba gang and company are better than ever. Kazuma is his usual self a gender equality advocate as well as being a pervert but still has a heart, Aqua is actually useful but does still has her classic whining, Darkness is as masochist as ever, Megumin is still a one-trick pony showing a glimpse of change with her skill, Yunyun still has no friends but more screentime, and old characters return as well as new ones. The film likes to focus mostly on Megumin and Kazuma (obviously as the film is basically named after her race) with them having the most screentime.

The comedy mostly consists of character interactions and its sexual humor but I felt around 60% of the jokes involved something sexual which I felt was distracting at some points but they weres still effective to make me laugh. The 40% of humor would involve subverting the viewer's expectations which they were able to do perfectly.

Final Verdict 9/10
A lot of criticism stems from nitpicks but they don't really affect my enjoyment and the quality of the film.

If you haven't seen this film watch it. If you haven't seen Konosuba S1 & S2 + OVA's go watch them then watch the film.

Konosuba is a amazing comedy anime and will have you laughing. This movie had we laughing a lot.

Story: The Story really wasn't anything special, it was just typical from what we see in the show.

Art: The art for konosuba is always amazing, they do not fail with their animation.

Sound: Its typical Konosuba ost, I do love their ost.

Enjoyment: This movie is going to have you laughing with the whole kazuma ... popular phase. And all the crimson demons basically being Chuunibyou's.

Overall:I really enjoyed this movie and been dying to watch it. Am very happy they added it to Crunchyroll. I highly recommend this movie and basically the konosuba series

It's Konosuba with a higher budget. The animation in this movie is the peak of character animations as they come. Many people say that this movie has bad animation and any animator can tell you this is not the case. Animation is not made exclusively for taking screenshots, it's for movement that can tell you what someone is feeling without any use of dialogue if needed and this movie fully embraces that.

Not to mention there are plenty of great animated moments accompanied by stellar music that can make you genuinely excited for a scene in a comedy movie.

With all that said though, as someone ... who has read the Light Novels it was a bit weird to see some really funny and heartfelt moments cut but if you're an anime only or you don't mind nitpicking, this movie can be a perfect 10.

It was the best out of konosuba . The movie had everything in it perfectly. This anime just gets better time after time , Season 2 was perfected whatever was left out in Season 1 and this movie went even further perfecting everything missing from Season 2 . The OVAs were like an 8 off 10 type but thats fine . Movie covered till light novel volume 5 , hoping for the anime to get a season 3 soon & if it would have a 25 episodes season that would be amazing . Loved it & Laughed out all the way while watching this movie ... . Everyone should give it a watch 🌟 . 10 /10

To preface this review, I am a HUGE fan of the Konosuba Anime and Light Novels, so I admit when I say that I am very biased...

On saying that, this is the PERFECT Film for fans of Konosuba. It is - as many others rightly put it - an extended episode for the show that continues where Season 2 left off and is full of fanservice from start to finish.

The Highlights:

(Characters: 10)
This is the main reason the watch this Film!
The cast of characters are what you ... would expect from Konosuba: Dumb, Lovable, Full of Charm, and carries the entire film. There as so many memorable, laugh-out-loud scenes that will leave you in tears. I honestly couldn't get enough of them and I pray we get a season 3 in the near future just so we can have the pleasure of watching more Kazuma and his party of misfits.

(Story: 9)
I was already aware of the story as I had read the Light Novel's 5th Volume this was adapted from. Even so, this did not sour my experience one bit. It was a very faithful adaption and told the story of their time in the Crimson village very well.
The only issues I had was that they cut out 2 particular scenes from the LN: the first of which was amazingly funny and gave us insight in Kazuma's character; whilst the 2nd is VERY important to Konosuba's future story and character arcs.

Pretty much what you would expect: Explosions. Explosions Everywhere.
The Japanese VAs are perfect as their characters - and are perfect in general. The timing of their comedic moments and reactions are unmatched, and their vocal range is impressive to say the least.
The music itself is pretty much the Konosuba soundtrack, so nothing spectacular, However its timing with the scenes and pacing is what made the film so good in the first place.
The ending songs were nice. I'll need to give them another listen though. (Konosuba's 2nd Season OP is one of my all-time favourites.)
I will say, the showing I went to had the volume up to max, so the moments when big sounds were involved, they were ear-piercingly loud.
It wasn't too much of a bother though...

Once again, what any Konosuba fan would expect: It's Konosuba. It looks like Konosuba. It feels like Konosuba. And thats all we really need.
Honestly, J.C.Staff did a great job keeping to the charm and style of the Anime that Studio Deen were known for. The big action scenes weren't too over-the-top (...for Konosuba standards) and the Art direction was on point.

And Finally...

Whenever I rate films, anime, manga, and light novels, I usually focus Enjoyment as my Overall verdict. And so, this is easily a 10/10 for me. The experience of seeing it in the cinema was a fantastic treat, and elevated the overall enjoyment for me. Especially considering that I thought the movie wouldn't gat a UK release, I was overjoyed to be given this chance to experience the film on the big screen.

So, yeah...
I can't wait to watch it again when it is released online - and HOPEFULLY, on Blu-ray along with the previous 2 Seasons! And, I look forward to more possible seasons/movies from this franchise in the future.

Konosuba is the perfect example of how far a show can go without any direction. Absent any plot and world-building developments, Kadokawa has created yet another grand medium. This movie does all the original series does, but it's basically the Megumin and Yunyun special. There were many romantic and ecchi themes in the movie, more so than the original series. But you know that all of it is gag humor, which typically seems like it would make for something annoying. Nope. not with konosuba. Konosuba's anti-climactic moments hit the spot, every time something serious is about to happen, gag humor comes in. And I love ... it quite frankly. There isn't too much to say, if you like konosuba, drop everything you are doing and watch this movie. If you don't like konosuba (said nobody ever), you probably don't want to watch this. It's hard to rank above an 8/10 given konosuba can only offer good characters, comedy, and animation. Without any plot developments, plot twists, and additional world-building it's hard to really become enamored with the show, I really enjoy konosuba and I like it, but I can't really love it. Animation is great but doesen't improve upon the series, which would be difficult because the series has brilliant animation, soundtrack is great, and the action scenes were captivating. Imagine one long konosuba episode... Definitely a good episode though. You'll be rewinding back to rewatch several scenes

What to expect:
As you may guess from the title, this arc focuses a lot more on megumin than the shows did. Kazuma is still the protagonist, just megumin becomes main heroin. Be sure to watch both seasons and OVAs, as they allude back to much of the plot and running jokes

Delivery (art/sound/details):
Coming from a new studio, I was somewhat concerned how they'd handle konosuba's defining comedic traits. No need to worry. J.C. Studios handled this very well, in many cases adding more details than the previous seasons. Their ... character interactions in the background easily surpass Studio Deen's. Even the animation stayed surprisingly consistent! As for sound design, while it's not for everyone — sacrificing realism for comedic effect — there's a lot more detail and variation than any other konosuba episodes

Personal experience:
Aside from a few konosuba epsiodes, I found this movie adaptation to surpass all the previous works. As mentioned, I really felt an uplift in the production quality. That came through to enhance what was, for the most part, an excellent comedic plot. Their thorough focus on megumin proved even better than I expected, in terms of character development, engagement, and comedic effect. Although I'm not the greatest megumin fan, it was still remarkably enjoyable. The length was a bit uncomfortable, after getting used to 20-30 minute episodes, so I ended up taking breaks in between. Being long also doesn't go in favour of most comedic works, though konosuba held in there, staying interesting until the end


Conclusion:
Megumin fans cannot pass on this! Konosuba fans in general will really enjoy it. Anyone looking for a good comedy, and has at least skimmed the plot up until this point, should also consider it. Those who a looking for a deep tragic plot might want to look elsewhere

Konosuba having this opportunity for a movie is well deserved in my opinion. And the best part is that all the events are completely canon! So fans of the series will feel absolutely refreshed and satisfied with their viewing. Not only does the film keep up with all the quirks that make Konosuba great, but it also expands the series in a variety of meaningful ways, in plot and character development.

It's well worth the watch, but it isn't a perfect 10. Although it is a movie, the art isn't completely a class upgrade from the norm. That said, when you need it the most, ... which is for boobs and explosions, Konosuba delivers, massively. The story also might seem a tad bit convenient, or pieced together, but it's still relevant to its roots, and despite a few leaps in logic, the pacing is quite good, and the characters are quite consistent.

But due to the criticisms, the score is at an 8, but that's because I like to work my way down from 10 instead of the other way around. But please be reminded that the humor and enjoyment is still all here, even outside of the main cast, which I was very impressed by! The last warning is that since the story is about the Crimson Demons, Megumin and her clan get a lot of screen time, so I can't really want to deduct a point for Darkness and Aqua taking a bit of a backseat in this one, but be warned about that if you are fans of them.

I just had the pleasure of watching Konosuba: Legend of Crimson last night. The series has always been on my radar, but in the last week I got around to clearing through it and the 2 seasons are stellar.

The movie is no exception. The frenetic energy present in the show is translated perfectly. In fact, the consistency between the show and the film was so tight that it hurt the film in some instances. One nitpicking example would be the quest screen popup gags, which work well in a 22 minute tv show but feel out of place in a full film. It can be ... noted that the movie feels more like 3-4 episodes of Konosuba played back to back, so if you're someone who expects a more structured film then you might want to change that expectation.

Other than that point, I have nothing bad to say about Legend of Crimson. The characters continue to ride the razor's edge between being vibrantly captivating and absolute scum in the best of ways, with some genuinely heartwarming moments and character development mixed in as well. Almost every joke in the film hits (save for one joke that could be interpreted as transphobic or at least very mean spirited), and the higher quality animation throughout means that the sight gags that made the show so amazing are greatly enhanced. One joke involving Darkness early in the movie had me laughing hard and long enough that I had to rewind the movie (there's another gag that did the same that I can't describe without spoiling it).

Overall, if you enjoy the show I would highly recommend watching the movie. It's available to watch on Crunchyroll without premium so go have some fun with it. I now eagerly await the third season of the show, no matter how long that may take.

tl;dr: A film that continues Konosuba that has a bit more substance but that is mostly the same thing at the same high quality.

Legend of Crimson is the film sequel to the second season of KonoSuba. However, for the most part it pretty much carries exactly how the previous season left off. It’s still very comedy focused with an emphasis on the main character’s strange ability sets and personalities, with the focus being especially on Megumin this time, and it’s still pretty fast paced with a constant barrage of humor.

However, it did feel pretty different from the main season in a couple ways. The ... first is that because it’s a continuous film rather than divided episodes, it feels like it flows better and is telling a proper story that matters rather than having the story be just window dressing. The plot still isn’t that major, but it felt like it had more weight.

The second is that it felt like there was actual character and relationship development in regards to Megumin. There had been some before but it was incredibly subtle, and while I wouldn’t say that it’s in your face here, it still makes it really obvious where things are going. Closely related to that, it felt like we got our first fully simply touching moments. There had been other scenes that were directed towards something similar, but they were always just sort of there for the purpose of building up to or off of a punchline. This film actually had moments that felt like they were focused on emotional impact and not just humor even if they did eventually lead to jokes, and it actually managed to land them really well.

The third major difference is that the action felt more intense. Super abilities and massive explosions have been a mainstay of KonoSuba from the beginning, but here it felt like it got cranked up to more of a spectacle with a more intense atmosphere. Still, overall this film feels like a logical progression from the previous season, one that changes enough to keep things interesting but for the most part is more of the same, and considering the level of quality that’s absolutely great.

In terms of art and animation, I’m surprised how similar it is to the previous seasons considering that this is a film which usually have better production values, and considering that it was made by a different studio from the previous seasons. The quality of the art and animation I believe were somewhat improved, but not to any major degree and it essentially feels like the same thing. The soundtrack wasn’t particularly memorable. The EDs were decent.

I came into this film thinking it'd be pretty much the same as TV series and OVAs. I'm happy to admit that I was conclusively mistaken in that regard.

Story - 9/10

Keeping in mind that Konosuba is still a comedy/ parody in concept, I wasn't expecting anywhere near as much context and background story content as we got given. It was really good to see more explanations behind character origins and how they tied into the current events. Generally speaking, the quest that forms the main focus for the latter half of the film is pretty well put together, especially considering that it for a good ... part took me by surprise, in terms of the decisions made my some characters, heh Why is not a 10/10? It is a bit predictable in places, though I'll admit the comedic value that it provides makes it forgivable to an extent

Art - 10/10

Nothing too spectacular for the ordinary scenes, but definitely works well across both day and night scenes. The interval/ title screens and chibi artboards are still present in the film as well, which is good to see. Where did the 10/10 rating come from? The battle animation and graphic enhancements; I have to admit that they were visually stunning and really contributed to the feel of intensity and genuine fantasy setting. The design of characters introduced in the film was also pretty good, though I'll elaborate on this later.

Sound 10/10

Very few anime have sound quality on par with Konosuba and the film steps up on the good foundation already laid by the TV/ OVA counterparts. The voice acting, as ever is really good, across a range of emotions and settings, from comedic and embarrassing, to intense and resolutely determined (and of course the interval/ title screen voicing is also really good at adding to the comedic value of scenes that precede them).
The attention to detail with sound is very good, with full stereo being utilised, not just for voice acting, but also environment sounds and sound effects, which really helps with the immersion, if you're watching between a stereo headset.
The music is a perfect feature in this trinity, with some truly magnificent composition work (arguably unnecessarily for a parody isekai film, heh) The music used for lighter/ silly scenes does a great job at reinforcing the element of comedy. The area of the score that stood out for me, unsurprisingly, was the battle music; really getting across the feeling of intensity and also doing a sublime job of matching the energy, action and voice acting present in the scenes. The full orchestral compositions that get used in some battle sequences make themselves stand out and I'm glad that they do, because the music is very beautifully composed and performed as well as doing its job for the scene.

Character - 9/10

I'll get the bad out of the way; why isn't it a 10/10 - again, I felt that there's somewhat an element of predictability, albeit small, which felt familiar, having just watched the second season OVA prior to watching the film (though I'll admit, it was pretty funny).
On the upside; we got more of Yunyun, which was great to see, as she's probably one of the most adorable characters in the Konosuba universe. We also get to meet characters that are mentioned/ teased in S2 as well, for good measure. Along with the addition of teased characters, we also get treated to more of our beloved Megumin's past as well; some much appreciated character development content in my opinion.
The newly introduced adversaries are really good as well in terms of design and how they behave, being quite true to what one would expect in a fantasy, adventure game, which I thought was a really nice touch.

Enjoyment - 10/10

Konosuba never fails to be an entertaining watch and the film is very much no different; having some of the silliest and funniest moments I've seen in a good while. There are some more substantial moments in the film as well, which was nice to see, though (unsurprisingly) they don't last for too long, because all of the characters really can't help being a liability or being weird, heh
Very good comedy content, pretty immersive adventure and fantasy content and some really good battle sequences made this one really fun film to watch.

Overall - 9.5/10

Lots of laughing out loud, some neat sentimental moments; good art/ design, amazing sound and a surprisingly impressive battle as well make me happy that I decided to watch this film and I'll almost certainly come back for a re-watch in the future :)

this movie is a blast to watch, its basically a really long episode of konosuba which a larger budget.

the cast is as lovable and hilarious as ever with even minor characters have there moments such as yunyun and vanir. the jokes are just as good as the rest of konosuba and you can tell that the voice actors where having so much fun with it.

the main highlight of the film would have to be kazuma and megumin though since they are what the film focuses on and the scenes they are in together are some of the most wholesome scenes in anime.

would 100% ... recommend it to a fan of the show

Essentially playing like an episode of the show but stretched out to feature length, Konosuba Legend of Crimson offers an explosion of laughs, colour and all-around fun for fans both new and old. It definitely feels like the franchise has not lost any of the pep in its step, there's a fine balance between treating its characters with disrespect and love and it's something you can only experience with this franchise. Because the film has such a deep love for its characters, it has no problem making them as ridiculous as possible for a good laugh. The characters move with impressive fluidity and, because there's ... an inherent sense of ridiculousness throughout, the film has no problem contorting the faces and the bodies of its characters to better punctuate a gag with fun visuals. This also extends to its fight scenes, which also expand their scope to a feature film level with the colourful personality befitting the franchise. Due to the nature of it being a feature film without the restrictions of its usual television constraints, there are a few jokes that seem like they go a bit too far, but they by no means ruin the experience. The rhythmic nature of how the dialogue flows from one comedic situation to another keeps things moving at a constantly entertaining pace. It does just feel like you're hanging out with old friends again. Legend of Crimson is an all-too-appropriate explosion of all-around fun with pure laughs and ridiculous situations, it doesn't aim too high, but it's still a celebration of everything that makes this anime fantasy such a treat, a victory lap for the franchise that's also teasing a future burning quite bright, I wish I'd taken my chance to see this in the cinema when it came out.

I just watched this movie at my local movie theatre and it was quite enjoyable! Atleast every 5-10mins there was always someone laughing or the whole theatre laughing. The story was your typical Konosuba story with an hour and a half ova pretty much. This movie revolves greatly around Kazuma and Megumin and I think it adds to the comedy because of their history together.

Story 7 - Generic Story with the Konosuba cast
Art 8 - Just like the anime, there are always those funny animations and there were a lot of them in this movie. Especially during one part during the movie involving Kazuma ... running away from something.
Sound 6 - Unfortunately I missed the opening because I was late, but I liked the ending
Character 8 - Kazuma and Megumin are easily the best characters in this movie. They were very funny and had easily their best moments in this anime. Especially the bed scene.
Enjoyment 9 - Everyone around me had a blast. I saw a lot of young adults and a few adults in their 30s-40s. It shows that anyone can really watch anime and have the same comedic expertise of anime.

Really funny anime if you enjoyed konosuba. My friend watched 1 episode of konosuba when it first aired and dropped it since. I asked him if he wanted to watch this movie and when he did, he thoroughly enjoyed it despite not knowing some of the characters but he did know the background of konosuba.

TL;DR: If you're a Konosuba fan, watch this movie.

This was my first public theatrical experience in the US and I'm so glad that I got to experience it.

But if you're reading, you want to know about the movie, so here we go:

If you've watched the Konosuba anime series, you'll get more of the same in this movie. The animation is roughly the same level as the TV show, so don't go in expecting a jump in animation quality. The sound quality however... Whoo boy, the explosions are so very nice.

Without divulging any spoilers, the movie follows Megumin and Yunyun back to their hometown, the ... Crimson Demon Village, as the threat of the Demon King's army looms over the village. The story focuses very heavily on Megumin, Yunyun, and Kazuma, with Megumin being the clear star. The developed backstory for Megumin gives a deeper appreciation for her as her character develops throughout the movie. In the end, the movie sends a heartwarming message about discovering the flaws of oneself, but how your best friends see and accept those "flaws".

Overall, I truly enjoyed this movie and will watch it again when it releases to the public. Some reasons I chose to deduct some points were for an overly cliched battle conclusion and an oddly underdeveloped villain that is present for almost the entire second half of the movie. Other than that, highly recommended.

TLDR: if you liked Konosuba, you'll like this!

'Cus, you know, this is basically a longer episode of Konosuba. ^^ And, on top of that, we get to visit Megumin's home town! Yay for backstory!

It's just really ridiculous and funny, a great laugh. A lot of fanservice, of course, but it's there for a reason.

Aqua and Darkness don't get super much to do, but it's fine. The focus is on Yunyun (glad to see her back) and Megumin, and their clan, and it's fantastic.

Satisfying, logical conclusion also.

... And Kazuma does once again steal the show by moments.
