This stack is dedicated to anime that portray show business and entertainment media in a realistic, often quite dark and serious light. It's still not necessarily show without fancervice, but you won't see pure waifu or hasubendo bait here.

This list includes from what I know the most basic grasp of what anime is; there are included anime that I categorize as casual-friendly, not long and ultimately easy to watch!

The question I aim to answer is the following: "What anime should I watch if I've never watched anime, and I'm not familiar with Japanese culture or any geek stuff?"

A compilation of cute, moe-like series that aren't overly lewd. This list doesn't contain series with typical shoujo art-styles, due to their "cuteness" aspect differing from than that of moe series. Also contains series with male characters, but the focus is mostly on the girls.

LGBTQ+ characters outside of boy's love or girl's love anime. I know there are more (Sailor Moon, Banana Fish, etc.), but I was just pulling from shows I've watched. I tried to avoid headcanons.

These anime have what i consider personality, or soul, they have some unique aspects, memorable characters, an artstyle that adds a lot to the show, this kind of stuff.
They are not necessarily good.

List of shows that don't require much effort in their initial phase and remain enjoyable throughout their run. These are perfect for people facing anime burnout.

This list isn't genre specific. I've mentioned all the relevent genre and theme for each entry. I've also mentioned any negative issues, if there are any, that the respective show has, along with some warnings and important notes.

I just realized there is a connection between several anime I enjoyed: Zombie Land Saga, Granblue Fantasy, and Princess Connect!: Re: Dive. They are all from Cygames. I usually don't pay much attention to the studios and producers behind the anime I like, but in this case, I thought the stories were entertaining and the animation was a cut above. The fights in Princess Connect were especially well done. And I really enjoyed the music in Zombie Land. I've heard good things about Akiba Maid War but I'm afraid I can't vouch for the rest.

If you are a fan of singers, music, musical instruments and the world of the spectacle, I can recommend these animes. Apart from having good OST, its main themes are music, singing and musical instruments, with some drama included.

Here are some works that explores concepts/themes that may have some ground on the queer theory narratives like identity, power, desire, sex, gender, etc. They’re mixed with other societal problematics such as colonialism, politics, race, class, dispositives of control, institutionalization, etc. Thus they’re intersectional-queer animes.

I try showing animes that have one or two queer stuff in it that goes beyond the typical romance, i try to evade basic Queerbaity-ones from the fujoshi’s realm like Free! or SK8, ´cos they´re lame..most of them not all.

P. S I: These works are date from the 2000’s onwards. I have another one for the ones below the 2000´s, and one for the very best, check them!
